    1. Korean dramas offer diverse and different genres.

      Romcon
      Crime
      Thriller
      Mystery
      Action
      Supernatural
      Fantasy

      New OST per drama pa.

Your Name! Iba pa yung mga series nila na comedic and mystery. I Love You, Japan!

    4. Before(around the late 90s and early 2000s) the Koreans complained about those over used theme: amnesia, Palit-bata, iwanan ng asawa, kidnap issues....and I remember their endings were usually towards sad types. Ang daming nag-complain sa Korea. And that is when the networks decided to change the system. They have improved a lot. And the government supports them. Their kdramas and kpop have been helpful in promoting the products. Before Koreans products were of low quality. Because of the entertainment industry, their manufacturing and industrial sectors improved.

    5. Filipino movies and teleseryes thrive on one dimensional characters that appear too self-absorbed. Yung ibang characters are mot allowed to have stories or lives of their own Kailangan lahat sila existing to serve lang dun sa life ng bida. And yes, I am so very sick of loveteams. Madalas walang acting skills. They only subsist and rely on popularity.

    6. I, personally a korean drama addict. So what made me became one?
      1. 16 episodes which like you only way watched a movie
      2. If it's ongoing walang masyado tvc. (Yes, in one they have ongoing katana at limited and tvc)
      3. Lahat magaling umarte, and they are well coordinated. Meaning hindi mukha pang mas mayaman yung mahirap. Good casting!
      4. No need for so much kissing.
      5. STORY ibaiba
      6. Ost
      7. Me pagka realistic ang mga props. Like sa dugo hindi mukhang ketchup
      8. Subtle make up

    9. Directors and scriptwriters they never experienced to be a televiewers of their own. Try to watch what you have done set aside being director and scriptwriter I'm sure maHihigh Blood kayo sa inis na paulit ulit na scene. They never listen to the televiewers they stick to what they like kaya nkakatamad manood or tapusin ang isang obra.

Lastly Korean drama they don't need to show their skin to added attraction.

  3. Karamihan kasi ng palabas dito (not all actually) basta kumita kahit walang sense, pinupush pa rin.

  4. Pero yun ang kultura ng mga teleserye sa Pinas which can be developed, evolved or change plot in tge long run. Same goes with kdramas, thats their culture wich may also change in the long run. Besides, lets be fair to our own seryes, many Pinoys are just now being hooked to these imported shows that will certainly came to a point in the future that will get enough and clamor for something new.

    3. and that’s the thing, kdramas are constantly evolving, I’ve started watching since 2003 and they have gone through a lot of transformation, out of the box and innovative stories since then, they keep on improving all through these years kaya i never once thought nakakasawa na sila, it actually gets better with time... there are so many options from their drama: action, mystery, thriller, fantasy, legal, medical, comedy, romance, melodrama, spy stories, historical/saeguk- all available at any given time... they have really gone a long way since the early 2000s and have never stopped evolving and improving since then.

      Delete
    4. Same here. They get better in time. Madami pagpipilian kaya ndi nakakasawa.

    5. At Anon 12:43, I agree!! Been watching Kdramas since 2003 as well. Pati mga old kdramas like Goong or Winter Sonata, inuulit ulit ko pa din.

    1. Yup. Di ko kaya manood ng Korean dramas one after another. Madalas kasi love stories unless romance ang favorite genre mo at gusto mo kiligin lagi. Minsan kahit hindi naman romance ang genre, somewhere in the middle of the story magiging romance. Cringey pa minsan.

      Delete
    2. Kasi siguro fairytale din yung iba like rich guy poor girl love story.

      Delete
    3. 12:01am, you have missed a lot of good dramas if romcom lang ang focus mo.

Try mo different genres nila aside sa romcom. Quality priduction value na.

      Delete
    4. Yup, their dramas run on cliches too. Kahit ako na hindi masyadong nanonood, napipinpoint ko na yung usual fallback scenes nila like the makeover/wardrobe upgrade scene. Tapos minsan annoying yung mga pampahaba scenes like yung tumatayo lang yung actors tapos ang anraming shots like slo-mo tapos wide angle hahahaha

On the other hand, kdrama productions have access to locations na maganda ang architecture and interiors, kaya they can really sell na this or that character is a CEO or president.

      Delete
    5. 1:15 kaya nga sabi ko madalas di ba? Di ko sinabing palagi. Kingdom, Sky Castle, Prison Playbook, Stoveleague ang magaganda for me. Masyado ka ipagtanggol ang kdrama.

      Delete
    6. Anon 1201 Di mo pala kaya manood sabi mo eh? So how would you know?

I will defend kdramas cause it's worth defending. There is something for everybody. The best dramas are actually the crime/murder-mystery/thriller ones. Yun nga lang you have to read the english subtitles to understand what they are saying. But it's entertaining to watch and good storytelling.

    9. Totoo naman kasi diba K dramas are really well made some plots are amazing some are not but still production wise and the mix of all elements are almost perfectly knitted together like lighting costumes or wardrobe especially the music which plays a big part in bringing out viewers emotions. Its one of the most important element but overlooked in philippine dramas cos theyre all revivals of old songs wala man lang instrumentals na piano or violin. Actors are all well groomed have good physique. They set very high standards in both appearance and acting. End of day its the feels that K dramas give the audience that make it stand out which not alot of phil dramas can even come close to.

    10. It is better na we are exposed to Korean dramas so that we can improve our own seryes on tv.Kunin natin best practices nila.

    1. Correct!

    2. What if gawa sila ng iba iba,may fantasy, drama, horror, then balik na ulit sa romance para may variety.

      Delete
    3. Kagaya nung Be Careful with my Heart.

      Delete
  9. Very predictable and recycled pa ang plot. Too many unnecessary scenes and dialogue just to fill the episodes. No motivation for the viewers to rewatch the episodes because it's not worth our precious time and attention.

Sana once a week, or twice a week lang ang showing ng episodes. Para naman makagawa ng good enough quality. OR Sana gayahin ang 10 or 12 episodes per season/year - if maganda at nagustuhan ng manonood. Kasi sa pinas pinapa abot ng 100 or 1000 episodes. Too long...

In short, kulang sa creative freedom ang writers at directors. At tipid sa budget.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hmmm, pinupush kasi dito sa pinas puro cringeworthy young “performers” or love teams who can’t act. No talent required, just all hype and promo.

At wala bang kontrabida? Ang dami nga, Nanay o Lolang matapobre etc

But if you are into serious Korean drama, ok naman. For example, Designated Survivor, 16 episodes, na-encapsulate nila yung di matapos na American version which I think is in its 3rd season. Kingdom is also nice.

But I do agree that may formula na ring sinusunod sa Korean drama - there’s always a rooftop scene, a car pedal will be shown then the car will either swerve or u-turn and pinaka-must yata yung a character will look blankly in a space, it is a sign that a flashback scene will follow.

We should really start investing in 1) WRITERS (mas maganda siguro kung free-for-all approach, tipong project-based ang hiring para not the same set of writers lang ang available), 2) equipment, and 3) talent development. No to network barriers too, and utang na loob wag nang magfocus sa loveteams! Also, sana limited episodes din to ensure quality.

Ang daming magagandang movies satin na well written at out of the box, pero kumita at tinangkilik ba? Filipino audience is also part of the reason why basura seryes and movies flourish. Kasi sinusuportahan pa rin ng masa.

      Delete
    3. 4:26 maraming magaling but producers will choose mediocrity tlga over quality kasi yun ang nagpapayaman sa kanila satin. Sad to say, ganun tlga society natin in general

Yung 12 to 16 episodes lang kada season?

  49. Network executives seem to like playing favourites as well. That 's why they hire the same actors, directors and writers just because they had one hit project. Once they have proven themselves with one successful movie or teleserye they don't have to try as hard anymore. They are given one project after another. So the new ones gets overlooked and put to side. This favouritism culture needs to change.

kaya maganda talaga yung halos tapos na yung show bago ipalabas sa TV. gusto ko rin yung idea na weekly or twice a week lang yung drama, pero mahaba yung isang episode.

I never liked K series pero worth watching to.

Si Hyun Bin naman, mas marami pang gwapong artista but he’s so charismatic.

There's always a fresh twist. At usually tinatapos ang kwento sa 16 episodes. Kaya hindi nakakapagod panoorin.

    ReplyDelete
Later on lumalaylay, di na kasing ganda ng quality as the previous weeks. Why? Consider also the unforseen factors that might affect the taping like bagyo, baha, nagkasakit na artista, etc. Pag na-pause ang taping, maghahabol na naman. Minsan on the spot nagsusulat pa ng revision sa script. You are free to play around with your shots nang di nagmamadali. More time for post production as well. Malaking factor talaga ang time.

  74. 1. Stories. Sila, nageevolve talaga yung genre of stories nila. At lahat yun nagagampanan nila ng maganda. Look at Train to Busan, Heroes and Kingdom.
    2. Cinematography nila panalo. Yung camera angles alam mong pinag isipan nila. Hndi katulad dito, puro zoom in nalang pag natatakot na yung bida.
    3. Actors and their acting.
    4. They follow their original script.

Producers and directors should realize that there are some actors who cannot portray rich roles simply because they don't look like one and their accent nor intonation does not sound like one. Also there are actors, who does not look legit poor because because they don't look like one too. Most teleseryes are miscast.

Kung umulit man sobrang bihira or unless may season 2 yung drama nila. Sa kdrama meron silang oppas and unnies for teens, oppas and unnies for 20s, oppas and unnies for 30s, oppas and noonas for 40s even 50s kaya patok na patok sa mga audience for all ages.

Which means in terms of storylines, theme and concept, hindi rin minsan nalalayo sa atin.

Ang common na napapansin ko sa mga kdrama lalo sa romance genre are characters with messed up childhood, traumatic experience that’s why they are who they are, labanan ng mga chairman sa negosyo, mga mahihirap na hardworking, and mga babaeng bargas kumilos at magsalita na nakakapagpa-amo ng mga cold-hearted, arrogant men.

    So ano pinagkaiba?

    2. Fast-paced. Dahil madalas average of 16 episodes lang (pag one hr), mabilis ang takbo. Feeling laging “bitin” ang huling eksena kaya aabangan mo talaga agad yung susunod. Behind the scenes, may naka-set talagang shoot sked, reading rehearsal, to ensure proper continuity ng storya, and ang cast and crew focused ang energies sa project at a time.

Pag nagkasala nagbabayad talaga. They also have 2nd leads to add color and dimension to the storyline.

    5. Mahuhusay lahat umarte kahit mga extra. Very detailed and natural.

    6. Pagdating naman sa leads, they always experiment and rotate the team-up. Kaya may diversity,
