Seriously people, ka simpleng congratulatory message, pinapalaki nyo. Kailangan ba laging dirt poor kawawang orphan ang magwagi to make a statement?
Ang tatay ko was born not privileged. He studied in UP, work in Divisoria and now a self made rich man who owns a big company. Like my sister who loves designer bags, hindi sya nagpapabili sa tatay namen. She buys all the luxurious stuff that she wants galing sa pinagpaguran nyang trabaho.
You know what, I was born and raised middle class but minsan nasasabihan na elitist by people like these netizens. Why, because I always call out people who feel entitled just because they were born poor. Yes there is entitlement in poverty esp in the Philippines. I always here that.. Also people who are angry at people who were born privileged?! Seriously, unless those people are dicks and entitled, then let them be. If kayo din pinanganak na mayaman you will definitely take advantage of what wealth can do to better your lives. As long as these privileged people are self aware naman, then there's nothing wrong with using the wealth to their betterment.
Anon 1:30 you definitely said it best. Yes, there are wealthy individuals who feel entitled but there are also poor people who feel that rich people and the government owe them something. And yes may mga mayayaman na nagdidiscriminate, pero aminin natin may mga mahihirap na tao din who discriminate rich people and judge them just because they are rich.
I agree with you. Hindi ba puwedeng we all aim to be much much more educated? Andaming puwedeng matututunan sa araw araw but we choose to ignore. We watch too much TV, puro teleserye.
8:54 Read: Entitlement mentality of the poor. Yes, you read it correctly. Yes, here in the Philippines. No they are not komunista (and anong connect, may pagka st*pid logic lang). Are you just slow, or are you one of those with entitlement mentality? I will explain. Entitled in the sense that they feel they are entitled to receive help from people who are financially more stable than them. They feel that people around them are obliged to help them just because they are poor. Gets mo na ba?? Or do I have to SAY it again?? I am not 1:30.
Oh wow she should have stayed off the topic , Frankie seems like a kind and smart person but medyo ironic itong situation she got herself into ..., natawa ako sa name and profile pic ni Pusit na Masungit.
I'm glad she didn't shy away from responding to trolls. You don't need to be poor to fight for their rights and to have a fairer society. You just need to be a decent human.
Ano ba istorya nung Parasite? And pagnag-aral ba sa ibang bansa like UK o USA e mas better ang education mo or pag sa Ateneo o La Salle compare sa mga Olivarez College? Pano kaya ieexplain yung sa Amerika ginagawa ang dollar and yet bakit me utang sila na nasa 16trillion plus na? Kanino sila nagkautang? And bakit need yung govt spending imbis na saving?
Kids who are born in wealthy families shouldn't be guilt tripped about it. But what they do with those 'priveleges' is what matters. Will they choose to be shallow and live in their own bubble or will they consciously make efforts to go out there para mabuksan mga mata nila sa nangyayari outside their world. In all fairness to Frankie, young as she is, nakikita ko she's trying. That commenter too who said "saksakin ko tatay mo eh", no matter how much you hate her dad, wag naman sana pagsalitaan yung mga anak ng ganyan. He's a father before he is a politician. Respetuhin din sana feelings nung mga anak.
She had it coming. Nanalo lang yung parasite, she didnt miss the chance to insert race and being oppressed into the issue. Tsk tsk nabanatan tuloy.
As much as I admire this type of discussions, mej natatakot ako dun sa part na mas mauuna pa nyang sasaksakin sarili nya. I'm in my mid-20s pero pakiramdam ko lola na ako kasi as far as I remember, mga elementary and high school days ako humuhugot ng ganyan, but not to the point na may ganyan pa akong sasabihin.
And for the trolls, puhlease leave the rich kids. Woke my a$$...
8:08 I've read it, context and all. I get that. I guess I prefer to face things by separating my emotions from the matter at hand so I could look at it more objectively. Being emotional didn't work for me. I didn't say pa-emo, I just said masyadong naro-romanticize.
Erm. I dunno but I was born and raised in a western country and nope hindi kami na nagpaka whitewashed to fit in but we never experienced bullying because we are asian. To think hindi din kami from an elite family like Frankie’s family. Ewan pero parang ang pa-woke nya
If di ka tinamaan then the message is not for you. Simple as that. The kid is using her social media to stir nationalism for the young ones. There were other privileged kids that does nothing but flaunt their wealth and kayabangan. People should focus on the message and not the messenger.
We work to achieve our goals.
Well, if people are born or raised in a western country I really am not certain if whitewashing even applies to them, correct me if I'm wrong. Fil-americans, fil-canadians, fil-europeans, etc., are not just filipino, they're of another culture/nationality as well. Weird na tawaging americanized ang isang fil-am for example, because they're also american. They're not adapting western culture and erasing their filipino heritage, western culture is part of their day to day experience and it's not whitewashing if they identify with that culture because they were born or raised into it. Maybe inaccurate ang pagkakaintindi ko ng definition ng whitewashing, but I feel like filipino local schools that teach mostly english over regional filipino languages and tagalog ang mas pwedeng i-consider na whitewashed...and kids like frankie who grew up studying in the ph and can't even speak any of the ph languages fluently ang mas applicable ang term na whitewashed. Although I may also be wrong, filipino english can definitely be distinguished sa american or british at iba pang variations ng english, so maybe we're at a point na we actually made that language our own? Ewan.
Good for you kung wala kang na-experience. Doesn't mean that it doesn't exists.
1:42 and 2:43, you are lucky to have not experienced bullying and discrimination. but you cannot speak for all the asians who are born and raised in the western countries. yoy can tell your stories, but it remains a fact that majority of other kids are bot as lucky as you are.
Good for both of you! Pero maraming story dyan about racial discrimination. Parang yung expression sa ibang bansa na "such a stalker, just like your Filipina maid". Let's not pretend it's nonexistent.
1:42 and 2:43 just because you didn't experience it, doesn't mean it does not exist and that people who say it does just have "victim mentality".
Para daw sa Asians na thinking they have to whitewash themselves...
Don’t make her feel guilty for being rich and having options, she’s making the best of what she has. Di nya sinasayang tulad ng iba.
Wanting to have the best education is NOT whitewashing yourself. ugh. malay mo ba kung uuwi din siya dito at dito niya iprapractice mga pinag aralan niya dun?
i love reading her responses. straight to the point and yet still respectful. she may be rich but its not her fault. at least aware sya na yung parents nya yung mayaman at hindi sya.
Teh, malamang di mo naintindihan sinabi nya kasi English. Go!
912 did it make you feel intelligent because you've used the word woke? She is smart because she has a deeper understanding of what's goin on aroundnthe world and she aims to better herself. How about you? Pati sina Harry idamay mo pa. You dont know their struggles.
Seryoso? Same energy ng stereotyping na pag nag-Ateneo or La Salle, elistista ka. The f*ck with these people?
Whitewashing? Thin line. The way she speaks and dresses can be considered whitewashed by some. But it is what it is. Heavily influenced by America. Same with Korea..to a degree. But it's not right to bully people for their family background and privilege. So long as they are self-aware and don't abuse it. The culture and gap in the Philippines encourages elitism. It's actually a wake up call to live overseas. Too much judgement. Live and let live.
ang laki ng problema ng mga tao. as if naman ang bata nakakapili ng magulang? hindi naman nya pinili si sharon at kiko. hindi nya kasalanan to be born with a silver spoon ika nga. paka bwiset ng ibang basher, palibhasa di mahal ng mama nila. 😜
Kaya nga nya pinili sa ibang bansa so she can try living on her own. Inggit lang yan baks. Iligo mo yan.
That pusitnamasungit handle is right. If you want your ideas to be taken seriously then you should not lump "Asians" into one group, especially na may history ng erasure, oppression, and colonization (and which still goes on btw, as if they're attempting to replace western influences sa southeast asian countries) ang mga east asians sa mga southeast asians, aka dark/jungle asians in their book, or even mexican if you're filipino lol. Moreover, we often forget this but asia is a pretty big and diverse continent, some of my classmates from uzbekistan consider themselves as asians. Asians as a group and that whole "yellow" thing is a western concept that they attributed to us because they're obssessed with categorizing race.
I was bothered by one of the people who replied saying that capitalism is evil...ito ang problema sa mga bata ngayon, madaling ma-brainwash sa school na socialism ang sagot sa kahirapan at yong mga mayayamang negosyante na umamenso dahil nagsikap ay masasama. I am studying here in the US and mostly mga colleges/universities dito ay liberal at pro-socialism. Here's the thing: life is what you make it. What you put into it is what you get out of it.
Leave her alone? E bakit?
10:09 AM You fell into her trap. This is exactly what she needs—people telling her she’s intelligent. She has an opinion, maybe even a strong one, but intelligent?!!!
i admire her for accepting or being aware of the fact that she’s born with silverspoon. but it’s a bit to reconcile that’s she’s guilty about it because she has no control to it.
First off, do these people even know what whitewashing means?
Second, she does not need to apologize for what she was born into and have no control over.
At least she’s willing to work and learn compared to other privileged kids!
It’s not easy to live in a foreign country by yourself, especially NYC which is a melting pot of different races. Take into consideration pa she is someone who is used to having a maid etc and now she’s there alone having to fend for herself, do her laundry, etc etc
Geez people! Of all girls pa talaga ha.
Case in point, si Dominique Cojuangco. Lives in San Francisco in a big house with a yaya pa rin! And also does not even bring awareness to the plights of the masses unlike Frankie.
It's not her fault to be born with rich parents. Afterall her parents work hard on it. Kaya mga trolls, workhard too, para umasenso. Nakakamatay ang inggit. I was born hnfortunate, too. High school graduate lang but I used my mind and worked abroad. I worked hard to the extent na 4 hours sleep lang eh maswerte n ko. Sa sipag at tyaga, I was able to buy two houses and 2 lots. Hardwork and not stepping on somebody's toe, are in my thoughts always.
cant change the privileges daw eh di tanggihan mo. wag magpa whitewash pero sa university sa abroad ka nag aaral. ang reason mo you will be accorded with samw privileges kapag nasa pinas ka. dyan sa abroad kamo you live independently. pwede mo naman sabihin sa nanay at tatay mo wag ka bigyan ng yaya at driver. dami mo dahilan eh gusto mo din naman jan ka mag aral
So if I choose to go to New York for school instead here in the Philippines, I'm being whitewash???? What's wrong with choosing to go to study abroad anywhere in the world? Mayaman o mahirap mabigyan ng ganyang pagkakataon, they will grab it.
May I include ASEAN CEOs in the US. Think Hyundai, think Samsung and other huge Asian conglomerates and holdings.
Kahit maingay siya, she makes a lot of sense.

Para daw sa Asians na thinking they have to whitewash themselves...
So, bkit ntin sya papakielaman
Don’t make her feel guilty for being rich and having options, she’s making the best of what she has. Di nya sinasayang tulad ng iba.
DeleteHmmm, very rue. She makes no sense at all. Basta lang maka blah blah lagi.
DeleteWanting to have the best education is NOT whitewashing yourself. ugh. malay mo ba kung uuwi din siya dito at dito niya iprapractice mga pinag aralan niya dun?
Delete513 no sense sya o baka hater ka lang? Kid is actually quite smart for her young age. I applaud how she was brought up.
Deletei love reading her responses. straight to the point and yet still respectful. she may be rich but its not her fault. at least aware sya na yung parents nya yung mayaman at hindi sya.
ReplyDeleteMatalino siya, may pasensya at ma-respeto.
DeleteShe is cool. She keeps her cool as well 😎
Super agree with Frankie. May sense talaga sya.
ReplyDeleteHindi pala siya very smart
ReplyDeleteshe is very smart but she also wants to make sure everybody knows that
DeleteDid calling her “not very smart” make you smart?
DeleteShe’s intelligent!
DeleteTeh, malamang di mo naintindihan sinabi nya kasi English. Go!
DeleteIntelligent how? May pagka hypocrite just like those two royals na pa woke?
DeleteConstructing sentences without punctuation isn't very smart.
Delete1:57 pertaining to yourself? Cause Frankie is a very smart young lady.
Delete912 did it make you feel intelligent because you've used the word woke? She is smart because she has a deeper understanding of what's goin on aroundnthe world and she aims to better herself. How about you? Pati sina Harry idamay mo pa. You dont know their struggles. Ikaw ang pa woke
Delete520 Yung deeper understanding nya na sinasabi mo that she has is mababaw. Oscar best picture - deep? (912) Nabasa mo ba yung accent ek ek
Seryoso? Same energy ng stereotyping na pag nag-Ateneo or La Salle, elistista ka. The f*ck with these people?
ReplyDeleteWatch Parasite and put it in that context .
DeleteWhitewashing?
ReplyDeleteKuda here, kuda there. Susme.
ReplyDeleteang laki ng problema ng mga tao. as if naman ang bata nakakapili ng magulang? hindi naman nya pinili si sharon at kiko. hindi nya kasalanan to be born with a silver spoon ika nga. paka bwiset ng ibang basher, palibhasa di mahal ng mama nila. 😜
ReplyDeleteE may sarili ka pa ngang yaya at your age! Geez! Wag ideny!
ReplyDeleteKaya nga nya pinili sa ibang bansa so she can try living on her own. Inggit lang yan baks. Iligo mo yan.
DeleteThat pusitnamasungit handle is right.
ReplyDeleteI was bothered by one of the people who replied saying that capitalism is evil...ito ang problema sa mga bata ngayon, madaling ma-brainwash sa school na socialism ang sagot sa kahirapan at yong mga mayayamang negosyante na umamenso dahil nagsikap ay masasama. I am studying here in the US and mostly mga colleges/universities dito ay liberal at pro-socialism. Here's the thing: life is what you make it. What you put into it is what you get out of it.
Leave her alone? E bakit?
I love college freshmen, they know EVERYTHING! hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteExactly what I was thinking lol
DeleteHanggang maka-graduate sila ay they know everything. Hahaha!
DeleteMatalino si My Kakie go gurlllll
ReplyDelete10:09 AM You fell into her trap. This is exactly what she needs—people telling her she’s intelligent. She has an opinion, maybe even a strong one, but intelligent?!!!
Deletein fairness , she can accept criticisms with class and humility. she’s not triggered . good job.
ReplyDeletei admire her for accepting or being aware of the fact that she’s born with silverspoon. but it’s a bit to reconcile that’s she’s guilty about it because she has no control to it.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, do these people even know what whitewashing means?
ReplyDeleteSecond, she does not need to apologize for what she was born into and have no control over.
Chos!
ReplyDeleteIt's not her fault to be born with rich parents.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up for Frankie... she's respectful regardless of status :)
ReplyDeleteMy take to this discussion is....perhaps she should learn to choose her battles.
ReplyDeletecant change the privileges daw eh di tanggihan mo. wag magpa whitewash pero sa university sa abroad ka nag aaral. ang reason mo you will be accorded with samw privileges kapag nasa pinas ka. dyan sa abroad kamo you live independently. pwede mo naman sabihin sa nanay at tatay mo wag ka bigyan ng yaya at driver. dami mo dahilan eh gusto mo din naman jan ka mag aral
ReplyDeleteThis kid is trying hard to be relevant!
ReplyDeleteSo if I choose to go to New York for school instead here in the Philippines, I'm being whitewash???? What's wrong with choosing to go to study abroad anywhere in the world? Mayaman o mahirap mabigyan ng ganyang pagkakataon, they will grab it. Ang hipocrite ng mga comments sa kanya.
ReplyDeleteMaingay sya sa socmed. I dunno, there's something about her na ipinangangalandakan nyang aware sya kuno sa nangyayari pero empty can ang dating nya.
May I include ASEAN CEOs in the US. Think Hyundai, think Samsung and other huge Asian conglomerates and holdings.
ReplyDelete
