The mere fact they stayed with Sharon over the years means okay sila don.

Wala ba silang karapatang mag uniform.

      Delete
    7. Kaya nga. I can’t believe the audacity these strangers have to impose on another person (celebrity or not) their ways or how they think things should be done. My gulay! This is one of the bad things about social media, lahat na lang gusto pakialaman sa buhay ng may buhay. 🤦🏻‍♀️

      Delete
    8. Sharon had a long time yaya - naka Rolex and all pa nga eh.

      Delete
    9. Daming epal sa mundo!nung maliit pa anak ko, yaya lagi tawag sa kin...lol..but I didn’t mind at all, kahit madinig pa ng kung sino !

    10. I know Sharon is a good person. Cguro ung nagcomment just meant to make their kasambahays feel equal when they are out in the public. Pero ganun cguro ung mga yayamanin, need nila na madistinguish sila from the people who serve them anyway they are paying their services.

      Delete
    5. True!

At least naka isang vlog pa sha!

      Delete

      Delete
    8. i dont get what the big deal is. so, kung naka uniform? may mali ba sa pagiging yaya? marangal naman na trabaho yun. ano kaya ang pinaghuhugutan ng commenter? bakit sa paningin niya kahiya hiya maging yaya?

  5. Since when was yaya a derogatory term? It is an endearment because yaya is an elevated position. Like that of a second mommy or older sister who cares for us. As for the uniform, they prefer it because they do not have to wear out their casual clothes which they buy with their hard earned money. I would rather be called yaya and be taken to all those places abroad and eatin good restos than be called Ate but earn a measly amount

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. My thoughts exactly.

      Delete
    2. Yes they prefer uniforms so as not to wear out their clothes. Students, office workers, doctors wear uniforms why not your household staff ?

      Delete
    3. I agree! tong mga bashers, pati uniform pinapakialaman!

      Delete
    4. And as Sharon said, representation din sila ng Cuneta-Pangilinan family, kaya they have to look decent when representing them

      Delete
    5. some yaya or kasambahay take pride when wearing uniform kasi alam ng tao na mayaman ang amo na kaya silang dalhin sa mga magagandang lugar at pakainin ng masasarap na pagkain.

      Delete
  6. Di naman sya sinagot. Ano ba ang purpose ng uniforms? Bakit kailangan naka uniform ang mga yaya?

    1. Eh bakit ba kailangan naka uniform ang bank tellers? Teachers? Pulis? Sundalo? Judge? Piloto? Kapitan ng barko? Ano bang problema n’yo sa uniform?

      Delete
    2. Dami nyong pinaglalaban. Pati pagsusot ng uniform issue! E kayo? Baka di nyo nga pinagsusuot uniform mga yaya nyo but how do u treat them really?

Gets???

      Delete
    5. Sinagot nya, basahin mo ulit: "To give me and my family some decent representation"

      Delete
    6. I dont see anything wrong with yayas wearing uniform. Like 220 said, other professions have uniforms as well.

It's the people who see them of lower class. Yaya is a dignified job and with or without uniform, they are heroes just the same.

      Delete
    7. Kase po may mga exclusive village and condos that they require all the kasambahays to be in uniform.

      Delete

      Delete
    9. 2:20 bakit ba? what is so wrong with a uniform? malinis at marangal na trabaho naman yun. our yayas wear uniform para i can tell them from a group even from afar. and lalo na pag dressy occasion, how can they move around with the kids kung naka semi formal or formal don sila? basta they should be treated with love and respect by every family, yun ang mahalaga.

    3. Kasi nga kinu questione yung pagsusuot ng uniform. What’s wrong with wearing a uniform? We do that sa mga professions natin, bakit hindi pwede sa household? For me lang ha, nagiging mas dignified yung work kapag naka uniform ka. At saka, hello, well compensated naman sila. Kung pwede lang mag trabaho under Sharon, I would love to. She seems to be a kind employer naman

      Delete
    4. hindi un nakaka turn-off. if I can afford to have a yaya and spend money to treat them that way, I would be very proud. that is generousity, letting them experience and travel the world with you.

      Delete
    5. Wag kang ganyan! She was just emphasizing how she treats them well cause the basher was implying that she’s mistreating them!

      Delete

      Delete

      Delete
Office workers have uniforms. Yayas/Helpers na may uniforms somehow make them more like an employee than a mere slave. Kaloka tong mga to.

    1. wearing uniforms i guess kasama sa contract nla. and i dont see the problem with uniforms, even professionals have uniforms.

      Delete
    2. True. Eto yung the same explanation ng mga yayamanin kong friends. Yung helpers nila minsan naka short shorts or plunging necklines and tuwad ng tuwad habang naglilinis or naghahabol ng alaga. So i dont mind them being in uniforms, pag day off naman they wear anything they want

      Delete
    3. Uniforms save staff money to buy and use their own clothes. I don't see the problem for them to be in uniform while on duty.

  10. Juice colored I enumerate talaga kung san nadala yung yaya.

It is an honest job na walang dapat ikahiya.

      Delete
    3. Iba naman ang Culture sa US when it comes to helpers wearing uniform. Aside from the fact na mura ang mga damit dyan at mas mataas ng konti ang salary dahil per hour and also most of them are independent kaya sarili lang nila ang kanilang ginagastusan.

      Delete
    4. San ka nag tra trabaho? Or estudyante ka pa? Compared to her yayas im sure mas madami pa silang napuntahan at nakainan na masasarap compared sa yo. And judging by the way you speak, mukhang dayo ka lang diyan sa US. I bet her yaya’s life is far better than yours.

      Delete
    5. Pano naging degrading ang uniform for helpers? People like you are the ones na mababa ang tingin sa kanila with or without uniforms. Kung ang tingin mo sa yaya e the same as a regular employee then no issue if nakauniform sila. And anu naman if isama nila mga yayas for their comfort? Kaya nga sila helpers e to provide assistance. Much luckier sila because sharon as employer treats and pays them above what is fair.

      Delete
    6. Tell me, what’s degrading about a yaya wearing a uniform? What’s degrading is not being treated well, yung hindi pinapakain, minumura in private and in public, hindi pinapa sahod in time. I would gladly wear a uniform kung well compensated naman ako and treated humanely by my employer

      Delete
Look at the famous Yaya Luring! She bought her a house. Nakapag-commercial pa!

      Delete

      Delete
    10. Nadedegrade? Only because of your own bias.

    ReplyDelete
  13. most of the yayas or helpers (para sa mga sensitive) prefer wearing uniforms because they don’t need to think about what to wear. also, i don’t see anything offensive with the term yaya. wala naman masama sa salita na yaya, dini-degrade nila ang term kasi subconsciously e mababa ang tingin nila sa mga ganyang trabaho. as long as tama ang pasweldo at di naaabuso ung kasambahay walang problema

    ReplyDelete

  17. Wala naman kumu-question about treatment niya sa yayas. Ang issue is yung pagpapasuot ng uniform, which is dapat lang tanggalin na. Pwede niyo gawan ng excuse yan na its functional. Pero napaka-sinaunang panahon na ng thinking niyo. Tinatawag niyong kasambahay pero pag aalis, suot niyo gusto niyo, tapos sila uniform.

      Delete
    3. hahaha...issue ba talaga o issue mo lang? and also, ikaw ba pag lalabas ka witb ur yayas, gusto mo ba nakauniform kayo lahat? hahaha!!! gawin mo muna sa sarili mo yan bago ka makialam.

      Delete
    5. Excuse me hindi mo pa siguro naranasan magkaroon ng yaya or kasambahay.

      Delete
    6. Ang toxic niyo! Yung yaya ng pamangkin ko requested that my BIL buys her colorful scrub suits as her uniform. Dun sya masaya, eh. Anlakas daw makasosyal, sabi niya. Also, she doesn’t want to be bothered of thinking what to wear every single day, kaya nag request sya ng uniform.

Put yourself in their position.

      Delete
    8. 2:29 meron mali. Its modern day slavery. Maayos trato mo sige.

    10. Ibibili mo sila ng mga damit? Mas nakakamura kapag may uniform.

      Delete
    11. 9:13, you have a twisted logic.offended na offended ka sa divide between amo and not amo? Malisyosa lang nagiisip na gusto lang ipakita ang amo sa hindi amo.kaya naka uniform ,is because they are employed as such hence the uniform.if i am a yaya with uniform ,i will be proud wearing it because it means i am trusted by Sharon, it means i am inside her inner circle, nakakalapit ako sa kanila at alam ko ang totoong sha(pun intended)
Ikaw lang nagiisip na slavery yun.google slavery first bago mo sabihin na modern day slavery pag nakasuot ng uniporme ang yaya sa labas ng bahay.

    ReplyDelete
  25. There's nothing wrong being called yaya or ate. I think it's acknowledging with affinity who you are to the family you're working with, and it's no different to when you address other professions as Sir or Ma'am. Neither do I see anything wrong if they wear uniform. Most of them actually like wearing uniform.

If you have to call out their employers, do so when they're not given salaries on time or if they aren't paid enough, if they're inhumanely treated, if they're not given off days and rest, or denied basic things such as room and bed and food. Uniforms, or how they're called by the employers so long that it isn't derogatory, are superficial to pick a tiff with.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Pauso kasi sa mga teleserye way back na pag “yaya” inaapi kaya yan tuloy naging mentality ng pinoy

    ReplyDelete
  27. What's wrong with yaya's wearing a uniform when on duty??? Parang sa office din yan. Besides, it looks neat and disente, standard lang ang outfits nila. Kesa naman sa kung ano2 na lang suotin nila like shorts or spaghetti strapped tops...

  28. I find it off as well yung pinag susuot yung mga yaya ng uniforms sa labas. But that’s just me

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It’s not off because they’re at work and on duty. Almost every profession requires uniforms when you’re on the job. Nurses, goodness even doctors have to be in doctor’s coats or scrubs. What’s off with wearing uniforms?

      Delete
    2. Our yaya requested for one dahil ayaw nyang mag isip ng isusuot pag umaalis kami.

      Delete
    3. O sige. Bihis daw muna sila kasi kakain sila sa labas. At make up na rin para di mukhang nagtrabaho sa bahay.

      Delete
    4. 2:23 wag mo ikumpara sa skilled professionals. Wag mag-maangmaangan. The idea of a yaya or helper itself is sensitive. Nagcome up na nga tayo ng politically correct term for it like kasambahay diba. As much as possible we want to make them feel like family, because what they do sometimes gets associated with slavery in history.

      Delete
    5. I have yayas, too. And i have brought them to places, not as many countries as in Sharon's list though, but I don't let them wear uniforms because they are already like family to us.

      Delete
    6. Some people don’t understand. Oo nga, they’re on duty kaya lang, pag lumalabas, sana pinapayagan na nakacasual. I had a maid in Mexico na once isinama ko sa supermarket, napansin ko, dumidistansiya sa akin. Parang nahihiya.

      Delete
    7. @2:23am - I agree with you. What's so demeaning with their uniform? It actually looks dignified. And maraming yaya who PREFER wearing uniforms para di na sila mag-isip/bibili ng susuotin. If you give your yaya a choice of wearing a uniform, I would even say that's generous. I'm sure Sharon considered her yayas' preference.

    8. Hmm...although neutral ako about this issue i dont know if comparable ang necessity ng dress code ng ibang professions sa (supposedly) necessity ng uniforms for kasambahays. I hate to put it this way, but may stigma na some people are being paid to do jobs that nobody else wants to do, while others get paid because not everybody has the knowledge/expertise to do what they do. Unfortunately, associated parin with servitude ang pagiging kasambahay. Other professions such as allied health yung dress code is a way to explicitly show role delineation in an interdisciplinary workplace...especially na iba iba ang client every single time. I dunno if that applies sa pagiging kasambahay na direct ang relationship sa employer. In allied health patients or family members should have an efficient way to identify the staff. I remember a facility where doctors would wear lab coats, CNAs would wear printed scrubs, RNs would wear plain scrubs except blue and black, OTs/PTs could only wear blue and black scrubs, and social workers wear business casual. This way clients and family members have an idea in terms of who to seek out for specific needs. Hindi naman public domain ang pinagtatrabahuhan ng kasambahay, bahay ng pamilya ang workplace at bahay mo unless part time nanny or housekeeper ka. Sa kasambahay all of the family members know na ikaw ang kasambahay, friends or visitors would most likely figure out na isa kang kasambahay dahil ikaw ang nagsisilbi. I can see how it could be practical though at iwas sa gastos ng mga kasambahay sa work clothes. Whenever I see salespeople ng clothing stores such as H&M, bebe, f21, etc who have to wear trendy clothes to look "professional" kahit around minimum wage ang kita nila lagi ko naiisip how unfair it is...especially that those companies are getting their money back from the employees this way.

  30. The Filipino term yaya is actually a derivation from the Greek word YIAYIA which means grandmother. Grandmothers are natural caretakers. Yun ang mga yaya natin. It’s not degrading. It’s an endearing term. Kesa tawagin ng isang maliit na bata ang mas matandang tao na nagaalaga sa kanya by her first name. Or tipong HOY lang ang tawag. Mas respectful ang tumawag ng yaya. Masyado nakikialam mga tao. Naooffend sa lahat ng bagay. Mamaya pati sa paghinga may ma offend pa. Hay society. Nagreregress tayo.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I prefer yayas to wear uniform, mas ok tingnan lalo na pag maliit pa kida. Now pag sinasama ko to watch movie, civilian sila cos my kids are all working na. Wala sila sa call of duty pag movie date night

    ReplyDelete
  33. The term "yaya" is only degrading when the person saying it thinks lowly of them. Kung job description ng lahat ng yaya e makakapag travel ako abroad with pocket money, good food and high salary, e magyayaya nalang ako. I'm a nurse here in the ph, pero sure ako na mas madaming benefits at mas malaki sweldo ng mga yaya ni shawie kesa sakin. GOSH THESE NETIZENS!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Bakit pangit? What if the yayas don't have clothes na decent enough for Sharon's tastes? I think better ang uniform so they don't have to think of what they'd wear.

    ReplyDelete
  35. hello buti pa nga yaya nila str shawie naka pag travel na kung san san!!!!

  36. Bakit kasi kailangan nga tawagin pang yaya. Pede naman sa first name na lang.

      Delete
    2. Hindi siguro term of endearment ang yaya.

    3. 1:37 What's wrong with being a yaya by the way? Nagiging issue lang ang isang term o label if there a problem with that. It is an honest job, anong problema dun?

      Delete
    4. I think its because mga decent at may superiority personality sila sharon which is normal sa estado nila sa buhay.hindi ko naman nilalahat pero usually kasi mga cowboy na tao yun hindi na tumatawag ng yaya..pero formality wise wala naman masama sa pagsusuot at pagtawag ng yaya sa helper mu lalo na super generous pala niya wow bihira makatagpo ng ganyan amo.

      Delete

The kasambahays are not offended so wala tayong karpatan kwestyunin kung ano gusto nila suotin.

They don't see it as a profession. Kung ang ibang companies require their employees to be in uniform bakit pagdating sa mga kasambahay parang kailangan ikahiya ang paguuniform? To be honest dapat ang mga Employers ng mga kasambahay should start contributing sa SSS and hindi lang siya isang privilege na binibigay ng mga mayayamang employers, dapat mandatory na yan.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hindi ka ata aware sa Kasambahay Law. Try to google it for your knowledge.

    3. Matagal na pong required by the Kasambahay Law ang SSS contributions for household help.

    2. True, kala ng iba luho lang yon pero its for security also, lalo na sa exclusive villages.

  45. My family and I are blessed to have a very loyal driver who’s been serving us for several decades now. He’s a part of our family. We take him with us whenever we go abroad. I’m very happy that we were able to give him that kind of experience, something that he won’t be able to do on his own. We tend to spoil him whenever we’re abroad - shopping, pasyal, yummy food, etc. Masarap sa pakiramdam to see him happy.

  46. during olden times they’re called slaves..now househelps, yaya, nanny etc! sa phils di pa rin nawawala ang class struggle..it’s a cultural thing.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Only in the Philippines.. malaki naman talaga ang gal ng rich and poor sa atin. Not bashing, but saying that this is the reality. Again, just stating facts. Sa States kasi hindi masyado malayo ang gap where social class is concerned.

    ReplyDelete

Lol

    ReplyDelete
  49. The yaya of my kids are in uniforms too. Wala namang masama sa uniform , mas gusto nga nila kasi nakakatipid sila sa damit. On top of their monthly salary, I paid their SSS monthly contribution, and gave 13month pay. We should treat them nicely and like family kasi, they're tàking care of my kids.

    ReplyDelete
Anyway, ang mga office workers na naka uniform are expected to wear the whole ensemble to show people na they are on the job.

    ReplyDelete
  52. when the Yayas were pictured, they were "on duty". they're getting paid (plus so much extras) for performing the duties. the clothes they wear are appropriate for their line of work
-- functional, comfortable and cost efficient. even professional medical practioners wear scrub suits. they can wear their choice of clothing on THEIR OWN personal time. not when they're doing work for their employer.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Kami hindi mayaman, pero yaya asked for a uniform lalo pag umaalis. Why?

Feeling nila ang laking bagay nang naitulong mo for them.

  57. I met Sharon years ago when they had a meeting for her show in the restaurant where I used to work. She came with her Yaya Luring. She got a corner table for her and let her order what she liked. She kept checking on her too and was malambing towards her yaya.. I have seen others treat their household help much worse, though they weren't wearing uniform. They look down on their helpers and some even shaming them on their social media.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Pangit pa rin naka-uniform ang mga kasambahay. Backwards na backwards.

Kse status symbol. Parang yung sister in law ko noon. Ganern!

  61. Sorry but those na maliit ang tingin sa mga Yaya at Kasambahay, never nilang na-experience ang pag-aalaga nila. My Nana is my angel and I find 'katulong jokes' very offensive. Ang daming s-in-acrifice ni Nana for us. Hindi na nga siya nakapag-asawa. Ang uniform ng mga kasambahay is not different from the uniform ng mga nasa office. It makes them look professional H'wag niyo silang maliitin.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Maraming kasambahay prefer to have uniforms especially when they go out with their alagas. It saves them from having to spend on clothes. More than having to wear uniforms, important is that they are treated well and like family. Yung may malasakit.

  65. Ganito lang yan. Pag nag work ka let's say sa isang company na may uniform aayawan mo ba dahil naka uniform? Same lang din yan sa helpers. Mababa lang kasi tingin mo sa helpers kaya you find it degrading pag naka uniform when in fact napakalaking tulong nila sa isang family. At mas maayos naman tignan kung naka uniform kesa nakapambahay during work hours.

  66. gusto ko maging yaya ni ate Shawie

  68. Uniforms are great. They save you money and time. You can wear the same thing literally every work day and no one will give you a 2nd look for doing so. Then they should push for legislation banning the yaya uniform if it's degrading as netizen implied. Besides yaya can be a term of endearment for some, depende sa context. Who knows, maybe if Sharon calls her yayas yaya then the yayas feel like they belong.

    ReplyDelete
  69. She could have just passed it off as one of the many and hurtful intrigues hurled to her (remember you are a celebrity), but you choose to answer back. Now, who is earning negativisms -- the anonymous non-celebrity whose objective is to instigate your emotions or the celebrity who has an image to protect? Usually, lessons are learned at the end.
