    1. Yup. Kse Mariel is US citizen

    2. Mariel is US Citizen so automatically her children are

      Delete
    3. natural US Citizen yung nanay 🙄 dont be a hypocrite kahit ikaw siguro sa sitwasyon nya ganyan gagawin mo.

      Delete
    4. but mariel is US citizen na right? So Diba dapat matic US citizens ang kids kahit dito panganak? sorry im just curious

      Delete
    5. No. May bagong rule na yung mga anak ng US Citizen na wala sa states eh hindi automatic magiging citizen.

      Delete
    6. Yes, it’s a Automatic if parents are US Citizens.

      Delete
    7. Nope. May residency rules so that your child becomes a US citizen if you give birth outside the US. I don’t think Mariel meets those residency requirements because she went to school in the Philippines. So, easier for her to just go to the US and give birth for birthright citizenship :) - US permanent resident

    8. If Mariel is a US citizen, her child is automatically a US citizen even if she gives birth outside of the US. She just needs to apply with the US Embassy for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a citizen of the US. That is already proof of US citizenship and she can simultaneously apply for a US passport for the child. This happened to me - I gave birth in the Philippines and my husband was a US citizen at that time while I was waiting for my green card. - US citizen

    9. You still need to file US Citizenship if you give birth outside the US i think

      Delete
I think they want to regulate those who take advantage of the system, na nakaka receive ng benefits or privileges kahit hindi talaga nakatira at nagbabayad ng taxes sa US.

    11. Mariel is an independent minded woman. She is us citizen and her father lives in us. May family’s sya dun.

      Delete
  4. so, for them, giving birth in the philippines is not what's best for their children but good enough to live thereafter. it does not make sense to me.

    1. Kse she is a US citizen amd wants the same rights and privileges for her children.

    2. Kaya nga nakakapagtaka yung 2 na yan. Ano naman kasi work nila sa US if ever so sa Pinas ang work then allegiance is sa US.

      Delete
    3. Dun lang tayo sa realistic.. wag plastic..

      Delete
    4. Para US citizen at magka usa passport less hassle s mga visa applications hehe

      Delete
    5. Their kids can apply for dual citizenship.

      Delete
    6. Natawa ako syo 1:08 pero true

      Delete
    7. I think it’s moreso if their children end up wanting to study, work, or live abroad they can without all he hassle since they’ll already be US citizens.

      Delete
    8. YES it is!

      Delete
  5. Why does she need to go to the us? Honest tanong

    ReplyDelete

    1. Para automatic US citizens un mga bata kasi napanganak don. Jus Soli kasi ang US

      Delete
    2. She wants her kids to be a US Citizen like her and mas maayos manganak sa states, inaasikaso ka talaga.

      Delete
    3. She’s a dual citizen. Giving birth in the US guarantee’s automatic citizenship of the child. It’s more practical than applying for citizenship later by virtue of parents citizenship and less expensive.

      Delete
    4. Cause they will be us citizens right away of course. They can study in good schools unti high school. They can get grants and loans when they apply for college. And of course, healthcare here is a lot better than in the philippines. Nakakatawa lang na kung anong itinagalog ng posts ni Robin sya namang pagka colonial ng isip nkya about his children.

      Delete
    5. LOL kapag ang parent mo ay US citizen kahit saan ka pa manganak US citizen na ang baby. I know cause I am one. baka mas mura lang sa US if may insurance sila

      Delete
    6. 1:08 let's be honest here. It's all about citizenship.

      Delete

And with the money and status that they have, it’s impossible that they can get the best healthcare delivery there. I’ve experienced giving birth both in the Phils and the US.

      Delete

      Delete
    10. 1:47 not all. Family side ni Mariel is nasa US, baka mas comfortable sya na makasama sila habang nanganganak sya

      Delete
    11. Care bears ba natin kung saan nya gusto manganak? Pera ba natin gagamitin nya?

      Delete
    12. 1:28 that is true but there more papers works for filing unlike giving birth there its way easier. You should known this because you are one right???

      Delete
    13. 1:28AM. Not true all time. Mariel hasn’t been living here for a long time so she has to give birth here. If sa Pinas siya manganganak, the kids can be US citizens but they have to apply pa through parents. So i think good decision na dito siya manganak para less hassle

      Delete
    14. Us citizenship is not like Filipino citizenship. It is not by blood but by birthplace. Meaning kahit US citizen parents mo kung hindi ka sa America pinanganak, youre not guaranteed us citizenship. Your mother has to be physically in the US soil for you to become one. Ang pinoy is by blood... meaning kahit san manganak ang parents mo, ypu cam still claim filipinohood.

      Delete
  6. Makabayan yung asawa puro pinagpipilitang maging US Citizen ang anak. Lol.

    1. Korek ka dyan bes!

      Delete
    2. The irony. Si grace poe renounced hers and her family's US citizenship coz she ran for office. Weird

      Delete
    3. Ohhh. Oo nga pala

      Delete
    4. Maybe it is Mariel's decision, and Robin respects that. If for anything, admirable nga eh. Magkaiba sila in a lot of ways - age, religion, citizenship, etc, pero magkasundo naman sila.

      Delete
    5. 1:29 grace poe renouce her and her familys citizenship after pa nia maging camdidate for presidency and not before. hindi naman nia pwedeng hindi irenounce ang us citizenship kasi madisqualify sya. wag mong gawing role model si grace poe sa pagrenounce ng citizenship.

  8. Lol Trump dislikes this.

    1. I don't think so because she gives birth without using public assistance. She buys and buys and buys American products and pay its respective taxes. Mariel is good for the US economy no matter how little she contributes from the time she arrives to the time she leaves the US.

      Delete
    2. Why? Eh citizen naman si Mariel

      Delete

    2. Di ba galit yung asawa nya sa US? Pero gusto nila na dito manganak🙄. Makibayan o makabayan

      Delete
    3. 12:50 saan kweba ka galing?

      Delete
    4. May exemptions don sa policy na yon hano. Mostly ang affected non military at ung naging US citizen lang after ipinanganak children nila, recent naturalized citizens na di pa nameet ang residency requirement and US citizens na never nag reside sa US. So I don’t think kasama don si Mariel.

      Delete

      Delete
    6. Dahil ang military naman ay madalas hindi tumitira or na assign overseas more than 5 years.

      Delete
  10. May she have an easy, uncomplicated delivery. And I wish this too to all expecting, soon to give birth FP readers! 😊

  12. US is no longer giving citizenship to babies born in the USA. Dati ganun pero not anymore. Basa din ng news pag may time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There are exemptions to that policy. That’s not a blanket rule. Mostly affected ng policy na yan are military and govt officials working outside the US, mga US citizens na nag adopt while abroad, yung naging naturalized after their children were born, mga di nameet residency requirements and US ciitzens whi have never resided here. Yes there is a new policy but don’t mislead people na lahat covered non.

      Delete
    2. No, Trump is proposing it but it’s not law yet.

      Delete
    3. 1:09 mukhang ikaw ang need magbasa. Proposal pa lang yun, it's not a law yet.

      Delete
    4. Daming nag dudunong dunungan... citizen yan automatic! I am from LA since 1996 wala pa ko narinig n ganyan

      Delete
    5. Starting October 2019. Hindi na automatic citizen pag hindi sa US pinanganak tapos more than 5 years hindi nakatira magulang sa US pero pwede naman I apply so magiging citizen parin.

      Delete
  13. She's a US citizen, it doesnt matter where she gives birth, she can pass on her nationality to her children. She probably just prefers to be with her family in the US.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Sigurista lang siya talaga......hehehehe.

      Delete
    2. I think because hindi na siya nakatira sa US for how many years kaya mahihirapan siya iapply for US citizenship yung anak niya kung dito niya ipapanganak. parang may naalala ko na ganung rule sa kanila.

      Delete
    3. Kahit nman ako sa kanya, I'll do the same, iba pa rin pag dun mismo pinanganak yun baby nya.

    4. Citizenship po. Hindi nationality.

  17. Understandable kasi for sure doon mag ka college yung anak nila. Sosyal kasi🤣

  18. A child born in foreign country to a US citizen mother or father is automatically a US citizen.(kahit mag google ka pa lol) Just like what happened to my niece who was born in Philippines to a US citizen mother and Philippine citizen father. She's still considered a US citizen. So maybe it's only Mariel's choice to be in the US physically when she give birth but if kung citizenship lang din habol niya sana di na niya irisk ang sarili niya and the baby to travel ng malayo para lang dun kasi di naman mawawala citizenship ng bata. Just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kung US citizen si Mariel kahit san sya manganak US citizen anak nya. I know that kasi sa pinas ako nanganak at dun ko din process ang birth abroad, US passport ng baby ko bago ko sya dinala sa US ng 2 mos. old sya. Yan ay dahil US citizen kami ng mister ko at gusto ko lang talagang manganak sa pinas kunsaan nandun ang family ko at that time.

    ReplyDelete

    1. May residency requirement ang consular report of birth. The us citizen should have lived in the US for 5 years after the age of 14. Sa pinas ata lumaki si Mariel kaya hindi niya ma pass on yung US citizenship niya sa anak na if born abroad.

      Delete
May RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT. From the looks of it, mukhang hindi mami-meet ni Mariel yun so magpunta na lang siya sure pa.

  23. Why is she in a wheelchair classmates?

  24. Meh, I don’t think dual citizenship should be allowed by the USA . It’s just being abused by US citizens who are never in the USA and don’t contribute to the good of the country.
