GMA Network aims to spread awareness and appreciation for mentally, physically, and differently-abled people through its Afternoon Prime series, My Special Tatay. From the start, the advocacy of the show is to help viewers understand better the plight of people with intellectual disabilities.
As such, we are one with the Autism Society Philippines in calling on netizens to treat people with autism with dignity and respect. The viral videos that have been circulating on social media tagged as “The Boyet Challenge” was not initiated by the program and we join the ASP's appeal to stop sharing and creating videos ridiculing people with autism.
We are immensely grateful for the support the show has been receiving and we hope that it continues to inspire and impart valuable lessons to our Kapuso viewers.

I mean I like him as an actor, he's very versatile, what with Destiny Rose, Meant to beh and Special tatay, pero sana normal lng sa IG. I follow him on IG because I want to see the real him, not the character he plays..

ReplyDeleteI have an autistic nephew na nabubully because of his own speech. Then I saw Ken Chan's videos and parang siya yung nambubully at nangagaya sa pamangkin ko, ang sakit-sakit panuorin! So isipin na lang kung ilan pa ang dadagdag sa gagaya kay Ken Chan. Pag narinig nila magsalita pamangkin ko, katulad ni Boyet - so ano, magtatawanan na lang at gagayahin sya kasi nakita nila kay Ken Chan at yung challenge ek-ek? Gusto nya maging aware ang mga tao sa ganitong condition? Aware na sila! Lalong lang kukutyain dahil sa ginawa mo.
Maganda sana hangarin mo Mr. Chan, pero napakamali ng paraan!

ReplyDeleteWeh, di nga, yung iba dito kunwari concerned pero pasimpleng bashers lang ng network at artist. At paano naman magiging kasalanan ni Ken eh nagpopromote lang yung tao ng palabas niya. Yung mga sa ig niya aside from behind the scenes parang crossover lang and they are cute. Hindi niya ginagawang katatawanan yung character niya. Yung utak ng ibang tao ang may problema mga pasikat. Parang pencil, imbes na pansulat ginawang pantusok, kasalanan ng gumawa ng pencil?
