Very dreamy about kilig.

    1. True. Dun na lang sila nagfofocus because of the fan base. I mean, Filipino flicks are not known for being "pulido" with regards to the production set and the story. Sayang dami nating great actors. The industry needs to step up THEIR game coz if we had to choose between watching unlimited QUALITY movies on streaming services and mediocre local movies, we'd go with the former of course. I personally wouldn't waste money on local films if they're not good because for almost the same price of one movie ticket+snacks+transpo, I can subscribe to these online platforms and watch anything I want.

    2. I mean, Heneral Luna is quality. You can see in the details. It's something you can be proud of. I hardly go out to watch movies, much less for local flicks, but I actually went to the cinema to watch it.

    3. Internet/Online will kill the cinemas! Netflix, Cable and free tv.

    4. network should stop recruiting a lot of talentless individuals at ginagawang bida because of the hype. Focus on those who have the skill.

      Delete
    5. In the case of Heneral Luna, halata mong pinagisipan, may nag research bago gumawa ng pelikula. Mga artista, de kalibre.

      Delete
    6. Mga ateng heneral luna is history. Malamang gagawin nila un exactly from the books

      Delete
    7. For me, it's Netflix.
      Simple as that.

People now prefer to watch movies at home.

    11. Look at Kita Kita, quality film.Konti artista pero pinanood dahil magaling sila

    12. Hanap ka na Matti ng ibang proffesion with netflix, youtube, and so on peoples attention span is sp short. Movies with 2 hours kakaumay na, dito din sa US ganun din people chnage the society change, we have social media etc.

      Delete
    13. People are more willing to save their money to travel. Not like before its cool 😎 were seeing a movie, now everything is about status travel, food, designers clothes to post on instagram thats the trend we are currently in. And not even govt can change that.

      Delete
    14. I heard even concert sales are down. Sorry mga busy na mga netizens you have social media to blame for that and netflix

      Delete
    15. Mga pinoy puro dubbing ngalanv ng korean teleserye 😂 tapos probinsyano d na tinitigilan kasi even the tv 📺 mababa na ang nanood

      Delete
    16. Mahal na manood ng sine. Period.

      Delete
    17. Everyone in movie industry should realize that netflix, iflix, etc. will soon take over them in a practical sense.

      Delete
    18. Uy di ba late last year lang naman ata yung sa kathniel na box office hit daw. E baka sila n lang dapat my K gumawa ng movie. Di ko talaga mtanggap magaling ba umarte yung bidang babae.

    19. Make it worth people's time and money. Audiences are much smarter now, and mura lang ang Netflix to get a good kovie fix. Minsan lang ang mga gems like On the Job, Heneral Luna at Goyo.

From story line to cinematog

  3. Movies should not start on Wednesdays but Fridays. If the movie didnt do well on Wed to Friday the theater pulls it out before the weekend and instead puts a foreign movie in place. This is unfair. Most moviegoers go to movies on the weekend. There should be understanding that the theaters should keep showing the movie until one weekend before they pull it out and label it as non earning.

    1. Aminin din natin most of the Filipinos are not into Filipino movies talaga. Some will fit it baduy or corny. Plus, Minsan nga wala pa one week showing meron kana makikita sa ibang sites and some naman aware na sila iapapalabas din yan sa FB or sites. Imbis na gagastos ka diba. Ang mga real
Fans talaga manood. Not unless maganda talaga yung movie pag na swerts people will watch through word of mouth. Idagdag mo
      Pa ang Netflix. Hahahaha

    2. Good point yeah why wednesday?

      Delete
    3. I disagree, 1:44 Filipinos are willing to spend on quality movies. Sinusuportahan nga natin ang mga Korean telenovelas and movies eh, there is probably something right that they are doing .

      Delete
    4. I would watch if I thought it was good. Been a while. At the cost of a movie ticket nowadays I don’t want to watch a mediocre Filipino film. That, after all, is my hard-earned money.

      Delete
    5. 2:54 mismo baks. We're willing to spend our hard-earned money kung maganda ang movie. Problem is, kulang sa quality. I mean, effects pa lang, may mga '80s Hollywood films na daig pa ang current local films pagdating sa special effects and editing. Puchu-puchu at madalian palagi dito, tipid.

      Delete

      Delete
    5. Tapos mga magrereklamo no? You created this problem, you deal with it. Buti nga sa mga yan. Sa foreign films parin ako, dekalidad talaga.

      Delete

Then learn from it. Doon mag focus.

      Delete
    8. Maka single out naman to ng isang network.

    9. Formula ng mga movies:

      1) Life Struggle with Love Angle between two persons
      2) Family Theme/Problems with Love Angle between two persons
      3) Saving the World with Love Angle between two persons
      4) Heroic Theme with Love Angle between two persons
      5) Individual Life Story/Struggle with Love Angle or Love for Family Member
      4) About Relationships between two people with Love Angles
      3) Love Angle with animals in it
      2) Adventure/Sci-fi with Love angle between two persons
      1) Love Teams with Love Angle

Get your facts straight bago kumuda.

  9. Maybe producers should think about other platforms to showcase movies. Maybe have them streamline instead of having them shown sa regular theaters. Getting there is traffic, tickets plus food are expensive. In the comforts of our home, maybe we can pay-per-view. Make it affordable. Don’t know if that’s possible kasi slow nga internet dito.

All hyped.

      Delete
    2. I remember back then, iba yung artista sa TV at iba yung sa big screen. Bilang lang noon yung mga artista who appear in both medium.

      Delete
    3. Omg 11 25 di ko alam yan. For sure medyo thunders k na. Thats way back yr 2003 mga ganun

      Delete
Usually star power promotion ang tv to movie (tipong George Clooney from ER, Cobie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother, Constance Wu from Fresh Off the Boat)

Yung iba, walang feyz. Yung iba, may feyz, waley talent. And well, yung iba, combo ng dalawa at may attitude pa! Mahina ba ba ang salaan, basta may followers o sumali sa reality show, ok na?!

    4. Exactly my sentiments. Why would i go to moviehouse kung di ko gusto artista lalong lalo na kung same old stories. Not worth it sa sobrang mahal na ng ticket.

  14. We are now living in the digital era. Gone are the days na hawak ng movie films and entertainment ng mga tao na pinasusugod sa sinehan for leisure and fun. Now people are wiser due to internet, downloads, netflix, other hobbies. Marunong ng kumilatis ang pinoy ng movie, do a quality serious movie- it will flop. Do a rush but super fun-with Vice ganda- i babash. Remember people watch for entertainment, ang bigat ng buhay para magsayang sa wala. Also if govt can equalize un foreign movies na pumapasok like sa korea, baka mag stick na mga pinoy sa local. pero malayo un. just my 2 cents

      Delete

    ReplyDelete
  19. One reason : Filipino movies are too cliché.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The qualities of our movies are TERRIBLE. Same old concept, same old lines, predictable plot... ampon, kabit, kidnap...Paulit ulit ang mga pelikula ninyo. Make a movie about our history. Not the crap about mistresses and infidelity.

    3. My skipping Pinoy flicks is my own clap back to those in the industry who make our movie goers dumber and dumber.

      Delete
    4. Agree with you 1:51. And daming materials available, ready for the taking. Our history and culture is so rich, hindi lang puro istorya ng kahirapan. I remember back when I was young, I spent summer afternoons watching those replays of old LVN and Sampaguita Pictures movies. One time, my dad was watching with me. Now that I'm in my early 50s, I understand what he meant. Movies of bygone era, they focused a lot on the storytelling. Who could remember Lamberto Avellana's "Badjao?" And the great Gerardo de Leon.

Hello, may netflix at amazon prime.

  27. Grow with the demands of the people. Online streaming is on demand now, yung mga Netflix only movies ganun. Puro kasi pabebe at nakakasawang mga plots eh. Ganyan talaga.

  28. I think these people keep on recruiting stars without talents. They lack the talent and don't deliver.

500 unlimited. Quality,,, wlang commercial!

  32. Uhm, many are still so stuck with LTs, they are even worse than HS kids the way they idolise them. Just read posts in soc med and even here in FP. How they "fight" can be creepy, and their choice of words!

Most of them, IMO, want a happy ever after with the LTs they so admire, and that they prefer the fairytale than the reality of reel only partners. If this is the mindset, then it follows that they aren't so keen either to watch any other genre of movies. Even horror stories must have LTs!

Pati reality shows walang credibility basta may kapit ka haha!

    1. @2:39 the difference with Korean novelas is they are shown online. And there was so many quality movies last year and it was probably the lowest in terms of movie gross number of movies that had 150 mil or above.some barely reached 100 mil. Quality is not the problem. Because studios have been putting out good quality stories more often.

Just look at Hollywood and the kind of movies that come out-puro superhero flicks na lang. RomComs go straight to Netflix.
Online platforms changed the game! What you pay in a month is what you pay for one movie outing ( sine, pamasahe/gas/parking, pagkain, random mall purchase). Plus half way thru a movie, you can pause, skip, etc- you dont have to sit thru a horrible movie if youre online!

    1. It’s not accurate to say that Hollywood only produce superhero flicks. I’ve seen a lot Hollywood movies and superheroes movies make up less than 0.1% of all movies made in a year. You can look up all Hollywood movies for 2018 and there were more than 300 movies released comprising all kinds of stories and genre.

  44. Hindi sapat ang promising plot sa manonood sa panahon ngayon people are looking for good story line, good graphics/effects for fantasy films, unpredictable plots sa mga action/horror films, better character development throughout the movie at better acting. Pansin ko lang kasi mga movies dito sa pinas puro pabebe kahit fantasy hindi nila matanggal sa sistema nila na gusto nila may loveteam kahit di naman kailangan ng plot and mga kinukuha nila sorry for the term "bano" mag acting, yung iba naman sobrang heavy drama. People nowadays are watching films not just for entertainment but to escape reality din.

  45. Hahahahaha...that’s too easy to evaluate. Pinas movies are simply horrible. The same yucky and pabebe love stories; the same corny and really bad comedies; the same all talk, all blah blah nonsense movies; the same cheaply made, badly

  46. Meh, it’s too obvious naman e. Many foreign or Hollywood made movies are 1000 times better than any pinas movie. Even just one episode of Hollywood tv series is 100 times better than any pinas movie. They have so many variety of stories, best technology, best acting, editing and music.

Most of the contents are recycled ideas and stories, ibahin lang yung setting, title, characters and target demographics. The same thrash was just transferred in to a bigger screen with the same bad acting and directing, and all the cliches of a bad movie. 84. A few years ago nung wala pang original content ang Netflix, may formula sa mga Pinoy movie para mag click sa tao and it worked. Pero ngayon dahil madali lang sa atin maka access ng streaming sites and their original content, nakikita na natin na there's more to entertainment than just the typical kabit, ampon, loveteam stories. Well eto na po yung wake up call, it's time to do something different. The kind of stories na mapapanood ng libre sa tv shouldn't be the same kind of stories sa sine na gagastos ka pa.

For me, that's because you choose on getting popular artists to make sure it's a blockbuster at dun napupunta ang malaking budget, sa fee ng mga sikat na artista. Say for example, Iron Man, when the first movie was realeased, Robert Downey Jr. wasn't that big in Hollywood. He became popular and bankable after that movie. We watched Iron Man not because he's popular but because we want to feel or watch the action, the effects, their costumes on a bigger screen. We don't want to get spoiled of the story that's why we line up on its first day release. AQUAMAN's actor isn't a big thing as well pre-movie. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland. The list goes on and on.. They take risks on the actors and focus on the quality. Historical movies are quality yeah (General Luna, Goyo) but we can learn them at school. It's kinda boring as well. We watch movies not because we want to be lectured about history. We want to enjoy, amazed and see new things. Even Koreans are doing it right! Their series and movies leveled up! Their lovestories isn't cliche. It's something new and cute everytime. For me, Kathniel's Barcelona movie feels like watching Korean or Hollywood movie because of the cinematography. It's not cheap. Ang ganda sa mata panoorin. Alam mong ginastusan. I know marami naman mag sasabi fantard but honestly, out of all the loveteams in the Phil, they're the only one na maganda movies. Hindi cheap panoorin. Oh and that's also the reason diba, namimili tayo ng artista na panoorin. Both sides should be blamed.. The audience and production staff.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  103. Conduct kayo ng marketing test. Ano ba ang price tag na acceptable to
A certain market para manood ng sine? Ano ang willing sya ishell out to the point na pwede sya manlibre ng iba. That will bring in more volume in sales. Know your target market for a specific movie then give it a proper pricing. Kesa wala and mamatay na ang industry ninyo.

Kahit gusto manood ng pinoy kung pipili sya between necessity and movie ticket na kapintas pintas lang naman e di wala. Parang chips lang yan. Hindi sya necessity pero binibili. And diff types to choose from may masa may sosyal pero nabibili.
