    4. 12:20am, the world in general will be in chaos if there are no protocol, rules, regulations, guidelines, instructions, limitations, borders, etiquette, conduct, among others.

A simple instruction would suffice. There are time and place for selfies, photo-ops, etc. Watching musicals and plays have restrictions.

  10. Coz there in Pinas you can still get away easily when you break rules. And not just theater rules. Let them try being stubborn in another country.

Just now in news, an actor for a play called out Kanye for using his phone while the play is going on. At least Kanye apologized.

      Delete
    3. hinde sa ipag yayabang masaya lang sila to share. but taking video the.whole.concert is a NO NO. nakanood ka na ba ng concert? you never take videos kahit short lang?

      Delete
    4. Kaya nga ang sarap manood ng concert nung 1980s kasi makikita mo sa footage na people respond through clapping, singing at dancing to music. Like sa Liveaid performance ng queen.

Ngayon nakakainis manood ng concert kasi yung nasa unahan mo nakataas ang kamay while capturing the concert through phone. Nagbayad sya para maging photographer... tapos ikaw di mo makita kasi nakaharang yung kamay nya na may cellphone. Tapos super offended tayo when we are calles 3rd world... eh totoo naman. Wala disiplina.

Same with theaters andaming "pa-cultured" pero di marunong sumunod ng tamang etiquette by grabbing someone's reserved seat at ang ingay ingay during the performance.

  13. You should be thankful people are even interested in going. Let them take their pic. Sheesh. Wala naman mawawala. If it’s a good show, people will show up. Palibhasa kasi Allegiance on Broadway was a huge flop. Watched on their third week and 1/4 the theater was empty!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 2:15 Rule ba ni Lea yun? HINDI. That was the rule of the theater/production so I don't know why you're even commenting about Allegiance except probably you want people to know you're based in NYC. Sige nga I dare you, diyan sa Broadway Subukan mo sa gitna ng show biglang mag picture. I bet you don't because that's the rule.

      Delete
    2. Wow, anong klaseng katwiran, yan 2:15? Napaghahalata tuloy yung ignorance and arrogance mo.

      Delete
    3. 2:15 kung sa sinehan nga, sinasabihan na iturn off ang phones pag magsastart na ang movies, same goes with the theater. napaghahalatang maledukado ka!

      Delete
    4. Copyrighted ang set ng isang play or musical kaya hindi mo yun pwede i-photograph or video without consent ng production. Walang mawawala ka diyan

    5. 215 you’re a moron.

      Delete
Tsk

      Delete
    7. bruh, your logic is invalid; allegiance sales has nothing to do with the fact that some filipinos have no manners. lea is a theatre artist, you have to understand that these people work hard for the production just to go to waste by recording/taking selfies. for what? so they have bragging rights on social media? it is a solid rule for every theatre and for audience to comply to, no exceptions. i saw someone who got escorted out because she failed to comply. and yes, i frequently go to theater district in manhattan to see broadway shows, even off-broadway with small cast and budget. same phone/camera rules apply. instead of educating people (as you claimed you have been to broadway); you want to enable ill manners. please think again.

      Delete
    8. It wasn’t clear if Lea meant taking photos of the set or the actual show. WHAT I MEANT was taking pictures of the set. Taking pictures or videos of the actual show OBVIOUSLY is wrong. Dito sa Broadway bawal kasi kahit before or after the show magpicture sa set. A rule that I dont understand. That’s what I meant when I said walang mawawala.

      Delete
    9. 11:08 just follow the rules.

      Delete
    10. Ang weird talaga mag-isip ng iba, ano? Thankful? For the distraction? And for the actors to practice day and night for a good performance and nadidistract sila sa flash at backlight ng cellphone?

Pwede namang magpicture before magstart ang show? Or after?

After all, they are your audience.

      Delete
  14. All the people behind the play worked hard to show it to you live. Not for you to post clips on social media nang libre. I checked IG, meron pa nagpost ng clips kaloka. Kahit photo lang yan, it’s not proper to use your phone during the performance. It’s distracting to both actors and other viewers. And dont say dapat tinuturo. Ano yun may lecture before the show? Common sense na dapat eh.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anong common sense?

Kailangan nila iremind yan.

      Delete
    2. 11:44 pwede natin i-ask si ate Leah hawakan ang phone at all times at imonitor yung ig for any videos na possibly mapost while the play is going on even habang nasa entablado siya para maremind niya right then and there 👍🏼

      Delete
    3. 11:44 kaya nga common sense DAPAT kaso hinde. Sobrang layo. Gets mo ba.

      Delete

      Delete
    5. 11:44 maybe if the capacity of understanding is subpar that even simple rules can’t be followed, and you’re thinking you’re entitled to be reminded, then you shouldn’t be watching shows like that. this means you’re doing this not for the culture, not for expanding your horizon, not for art but for social media. and don’t throw that “maraming pasaway”; “3rd world” or the worst “nagbayad ako” reasoning to justify. these are same reasons why the country has no progress. let’s be adults.

      Delete
Hindi lahat prim and proper.

    3. Let's not be hypocrites here, there are plays that the masses cannot afford. From the post, I think this is one of the expensive plays so they expect the audience to behave properly. Kaya ka nga nakabili ng mamahaling ticket because you know the proper decorum in watching a stage play.

    2. If the masa and jeje crowd can not follow simple house rules, they have no right to be there.

      Delete
    3. Unfortunately, Lea Salonga and her theatre etiquette is NEVER going to win a battle against the wider movement around the world including the Philippines towards a more relaxed .. more informal society! And it will certainly not attract new audiences especially the new younger generation by being overly strict and imposing too many rules!

      Delete
    4. I agree and well said 2:56!

      Delete
    5. @2:56 Sad but true. If this is truly the case, may theater keep its culture and remain to be for the audience who understands, appreciates and respects this art form.

      Delete
    6. maybe the new younger generation need to learn how to follow rules. it’s not an overly strict rule and that’s only ONE rule, no cameras during the duration of the show. you can’t follow that??? social media is not life. grow up and go outside, learn something new. this new generation is all about doing what they want and will definitely set the country on fire if they wanted to.

      Delete
    7. so pano naman maaford ng masa or hypebeasts or jeje crowd yung mga broadway plays? hindi naman yan baranggay play na na access ng mga masa.

      Delete
    8. 2:56 true, the plays since it is part of culture should be open to the public.

      Delete
    9. Gaano ba kahirap ang rule na hindi magpicture o magrerecord during the show? Kahit yun lang, di talaga magagawa?

      Delete
    10. 2:56 correct! turn off kasi na napaka elitist and very strict yung dating ng posts ni Lea. We don't know kung ang mga nagpicture picture ay mga students na nanood ng play, o kaya mga first timers. People are there to relax and enjoy.

      Delete
    11. 5:46 Regardless of the profile of the audience, the rule applies to all. Being a student or a first timer is never an excuse to disregard it. While I agree that people go to relax and enjoy, this should be done not at the expense of others and still being considerate of the purpose of why they are there in the first place. Its a very simple rule, I dont see any reason why it would be so hard to follow.

      Delete
    12. @546. Ah tingin mo talaga school play? Florante at Laura ganun? Hahahaha.

      Delete
  21. Minsan di mo alam kung nagpapapansin lang ang mga alta theater people na ito o talagang di nila magets na kailangang mas maghigpit sila kasi naman they are showing this to the masa crowd.

    2. Theater is open for everyone. One caveat: the rules of the theater also applies to everyone.

      Delete
    3. 1:01 theater like the one mentioned above , is not for everyone.

      Delete
  22. The more expensive the ticket, the more entitled the audiences are !!! It is what it is!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @12:30 It’s not about the audience having a sense of entitlement, but more on the audience having proper decorum. Theres a fine yet distinct line that separates the two. Please dont try to justify improper behavior by spinning it as displaced entitlement of others being affected by it.

      Delete
    2. 12:30 you pay to watch the show, not to record the show. take a photo of your ticket or showbill outside the theatre if you’re that pressed to let the people on social media know you can afford that “expensive ticket”. it is NOT what it is lol ikaw na mayaman.

      Delete
    3. the more expensive the ticket, the more the audiences are expected to behave.

      Delete
  23. How harsh. Yung iba ignorante talaga, but i won't still call them idiots though. It is as if hindi "idiotic" si Lea sa ibang bagay. Being blinded and not knowing the real situation of your country is more idiotic for me.

And since you dont watch it, you are in no position to call it “trashy” even more so “super cheap”. I do have my doubts though on anyone who begins their argument with “Im rich...”, makes me wonder who they’re trying to convince, and I pity them just the same ;)

  26. While I agree with tita Lea's sentiments about the culturally uncouth theater audience she described in her post, the sarcasm of "Talino" is lost on me because it's coming from a dictor apologist. Tita Lea, if these culturally uncouth member of the audience are matalino then so are you for being a pawn of one of the greediest and most evil family to ever walk the face of the earth. Suddenly taking pictures of the theater seem so small compared to the family you support who plundered and murdered thousands - and yet you never chide them for their atrocities. They not only disregarded laws, man and divine, they placed themselves unabashedly above them. Only the little people who take pics are the ones you choose to call out. #hypocrite

    1. 9:20 Thats the whole point of the post. Everyone is advised and informed that no photos/videos are allowed at any time inside the theater and yet people disregard this. As much as I believe in educating everyone before we can expect a certain behavior, ignorace of the rules is no longer a factor. Ushers remind you as they escort you to your seat and an announcement is made right before the show starts and after the intermission. People who disregard this do it not because they ddnt know but because they deliberately disrespect the rules, the rest of the audience, the actors and production staff. Its that simple.
