    1. There are even pure Pinoy who can't speak TAGALOG kaya.

Kelsey was born and raised sa Pinas naman pala. She completed her education pa. She speaks Tagalog too.

    3. A lot of second generation pure Pinoys here in the US don’t speak Tagalog although I know some who can with an American accent.

      Delete

    5. Tagalog is not the only dialect in the Philippines.

so yes they are as filipino as anyone of us.

  5. Hope she's not using her "filipina card" just to gain followers/fans/fame especially from the PH

    1. Sana lang nilagay nyang filipino sya dun sa application nya sa vs. If not, then her statement above is a total bull

    2. Hu? Eh filipina naman sya eh. Pinagsasabi mo? She got the job di dahil filipina sya

      Delete
    3. She obviously is.

      Delete
    4. Pag favorite food nya ay adobo mag dadalawang isip ako sa sincerity nya haha

      Delete

    6. 1:19 its funny dati pero ngayon its not. Stop ang draging na

      Delete
    7. can't you just all be happy for her. my gosh people!!! Nakakasuka ka yung lahat!!!!

      Delete
    8. She started modeling here.

      Delete
    9. She is Philippine-born with a Filipino blood pero her citizenship isn't a Filipino. She has an American passport kaya why would you all want her to put in her application na she is a Filipino?

      Delete
    10. 6:17, she has dual citizenship. She's born in Pinas. She wasn't raised here in the US. Instant American siya through her dad, but born and bred siya diyan. So technically she's more Pinoy than American.

      Delete
    11. Hindi sya contest at hindi nya kailangan ng Filipino followers to get the VS slot. VS dont even care about their PH followers as PH is not their main market.

      Delete

    1. Haha! Natatawa nga rin ako. Example is Jessica Sanchez. She said she’s Latina pero siyempre ang Pinoy pinilit pa rin. Itong si Kelsey na sa Pinas pa
Ipinanganak at Lumaki may hanash pa rin.

Kung problema niyo yung US Passport niya. It’s very convenient to have it. I got naturalized because i want US Passport. It’s easier to move around the world. I’m sure you’ll get it too if you have the chance. Lol.

      Delete
    2. True with Jessica Sanchez. When she was in AI,
Latina pag claim nya. She only started saying she’s Filipino when she needed the votes. Yung
ayaw sa Pinas mega claim kayo. Yung nagpipilit na Pinoy, ayaw naman. Ang ligalig, lol!

      Delete
    3. Anon 2:23, same here. All of my family got naturalized because of the benefits one has when carrying a US passport. Why? Because I can!

      Delete
    4. Same with that half pinay half latina who portrayed Kim in the revival of Miss Saigon. She said in an interview why the Filipinos are claiming her when she hasn’t even been to the Philippines. I think she grew up with her Latina mother that’s why she identifies herself as Latina.

      Delete
  8. Excited to see her walk the runway. Glad na there is a Filipino in the bunch.

She was juggling studies and work at the same time bec she was pursuing her dream. Ganyan dapat, may goal sa buhay. Hindi yung puro kuda lang. Mag-aral at maghanapbuhay muna kayo bago manghusga.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Buti nga she admits she is Filipino maski half lang. Haaay! Let's just be proud of Kelsey...

  12. May point siya. She’s proud of who she is. Just because she doesn’t look like the ~typical Pinay~ doesn’t mean she’s not Filipino. May morena, mestizo, chinito, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  13. basta you make kain the sinigang and you’re proud pinay na #sharot

Hahaha hindi naman ito contest na nirerepresent ang bansa, just say you are happy to book the gig and go. Nakakaloka!

    1. a filipina walking in a victoria secret runway is a major thing ke pa half lang its ok filipina ang nanay niya. ung iba nga 1/4 or 1/8 lng ang dugong ponoy or ni hindi nga tumira sa pinas inaangkon niyo na et al jessica sanchez

      Delete

      Delete
    3. 1:19 and we shouldn't claim anyone at all, period. Nakakahiya na yung clamor for international recognition as if we can only be validated as a country kapag ina acknowledge tayo ng ibang bansa. Kelsey did what she have to do and we're glad she got it, but a filipina walking in the vs fashiin show is not that big of a deal for the country. Wth

      Delete
    4. 3rd world country tayo. Wag na mag mataas. We should be proud. We did it! Yung mga black nga todo support.

      Delete
    5. I totally agree! This does not warrant national recognition. Ladies from all other countries walk the runway but there was no clamor nor debate where they came from. It’s her own individual achievement. In fact vs is a sinking ship. Years from now, it could be just another company that has been like toys are us, the limited, etc.
And the vs fashion show is not most awaited like others claim to be. Its the same show year after year after year.

      Delete
    6. that is so true. yan ang dahilan kaya kumukuha na ng models from different background ang VS. yung competion nilang brand na Aerie- american eagle brand lingerie na ang tinatangkilik sa US dahil pang masa at mas affordable. kumukuha din sila ng natural models like yung may disabilities and normal looking, average models. nalulugi na ang VS, they used to have free panties offer in the mail at catalogs... ngayon wala na.

      Delete
  15. Some people are just not aware of how VS casts its models. I don’t think her “euro-centric” features is the main reason why she got in; kasi madami talagang girls na sumusubok; predominantly white nga actually at marami rin sa kanilang ligwak kahit sobrang ganda. pangalawa, si kelsey na mismo yung nagsasabi na she’s dedicating this to the Philippines. Ano pa gusto nila? Gusto ba nila na i give up ni Kelsey ito just to make VS give it to someone who is more “Filipina looking”? One step at a time tayo mga baks. Hindi yung pa woke statement agad.

    ReplyDelete
  16. She is filipino by heart but she also has an American passport because her dad is American.

    ReplyDelete
  17. These pure Pinay warrios are just so unrealistic.

    ReplyDelete
FYI Guys, this is Racism/Dicrimination.

    ReplyDelete
  21. She's half Pinoy and she obviously worked her way to get to where she is. Tapos andami pang may kuda.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't know her - MC. lol

Joking aside, she's very beautiful and nice that she's proud to be a Pinay. Marami dyan ikinahihiya ang Pinoy blood nila so this is very commendable.

    ReplyDelete

  28. Filipinos are so quick to cry racism pag nadehado ng konti but they are also very racist/discriminative. Sadly.

Kelsey is a half cast. We should appreciate that she’s proud of her Filipino roots insteas of discrimating her American side. Ano ba gusto nyo irevoke nya pa pagka US citizen to prove her loyalty sa pinas? Crab mentality nga naman.

  41. By the way, being born in the Philippines does not automatically result in Philippine citizenship. We follow the jus sanguinis doctrine, i.e. one is a natural-born Filipino citizen if either parent is a Filipino citizen. The place of birth does not matter.

Ang point ko is that speaking a second language to the point of fluency does not come easy to everyone! Let us be understanding na lang po.

  44. She wants the Filipinos to be proud of her but I doubt if she’s wholeheartedly proud, herself, to be using the Philippine passport (if she has one) sa application nya for anything sa US.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It would be difficult for her to get a job in the US using a Philippine passport, alone. Getting a special work visa is tedious and one must be truly exceptional. She has an American passport. It opened doors for her. Maganda pa, matangkad, sexy, matalino, the works. Let's just be happy for her.

With Filipinos, we can never win, can we?

      Delete
    2. The Passport she chooses to use does not have anything to do with the pride she fees as a Filipino. You just need to have something to put her down with kasi. Sus.
