Grammar Nazi's should learn to chill sometimes. We're not at school. Pointing things out to help someone improve their grammar is different to being a condescending pedant. Just saying.
Anon 6:00, I know they mean the same thing kaya hindi rin okay that they be used in the same sentence. Para bang sinabi mong "since because due to the fact that". Gets? Also, mali talaga yung pagkagamit. Sinabi sa post "despite of" when it should just be "despite". Tapos nilagay "inspite" lang when it should be "in spite of". Klaro na?
Anyway, back to the main point, hopefully maka-move on na siya since because due to the fact na explicitly sinabi na ni Ahron na friends lang talaga sila. See what I did there? (This post assumes na para kay Ahron ang message sa post)
I agree anon 4:05. Nevertheless, I do not find it offensive if people correct my grammar or spelling. How the original poster presented it did not sound condescending (especially compared to how others point out corrections). You are correct that we are not in school but opportunities to improve grammar and spelling are not limited to the walls of the academe. Just saying, too.
