    1. Maraming ganyan, pero hindi lahat. Ang nakakatawa pa, the more mas chaka yung Fashionista or Stylist or whatever, the more na mas malakas ang "GGSS factor" nila.

    2. inggit ka naman. at least may ebidensiya na he's living the life and he is part of the circle, whether a big part or not, he somehow belongs. he travels the world, meets the most elusive fashion icons/personalities, gets paid for doing what he does best. may karapatan namang magtaray siya paminsan-minsan. at di naman nya nalilimutan na pinoy siya kahit kelan, he looks and breaths pinoy.

  4. Beauty internal or not exudes what is good, encouraging and inspires everyone. Best of all, it is devoid of insecurity. See I have to Google image Lourd's face and after seeing his picture, I stared at the window and realized the night is bleak, sad and lonely.
    What a coincidence...

    1. On the contrary, I think ang pinupunto niya is bakit kailangan sobra natin laitin ang iba dahil sa marami silang physical flaws.

      Delete
  8. ..and his point?? First! sa row 4.. ang daming satsat kasi, nakatulog ako.

    ReplyDelete

I have an open mind to consider it.

      Delete
    3. Hahaha. I like your comment. Bow.

  10. I totally get what Lourd is saying kasi marami sa mga wanna-be Fashionistas eh SHALLOW, pero hindi naman lahat. Besides, wala namang bago sa mga sinabi ni Lourd--most people who are NOT keen on fashion or couldn't care any less for the latest trends eh yan din ang sinasabi. Yung mga butthurt comments lang here are focusing on Lourd kasi sya yung nag-vocalize.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Kanya kanyang trip yan.

    ReplyDelete

I know one make up artist charge P50,000-P65,000 per makeup session. Ganun ba talaga ka "artist" yang nga yan at ganyan maka singil? LOL even if i have the money to spend I wont bother doing it. 26. We often say na "beauty is only skin deep". Pero ang problema kasi sa culture of vanity natin ngayon eh sobrang critical, and that leads to fashion personalities being shallow people.

    3. Agree to both of you, anon 1:25 and 2:51. So yes, most prolly hindi sha susulat ng ganyan.

  30. Sa akin lang ha, when he used the music of his old Radioactive Sago in a commercial, naisip kong naging sell out din siya.

'Gusto ko ng baboy' was something of a rally cry in its day

Ngayon 'gusto ko ng young pork' is just a commercial jingle. tsk

  31. I agree on some of his points, but then again, why be critical to those who differ in self expression than his own? That's hardly fair. Shouldn't we all live by the mantra, "To each his own". Furthermore, why rely solely on self-expression as a means to make a mark in society? Is it not what we do that defines us? Yes, it is quite annoying to come across someone who loves brandishing every article of clothing that they have. Just let them be, it's only hurting the eyes and hitting a nerve. Not something to get your knickers twisted on. There are far more relevant issues out there that deserve your attention.

  36. People are missing the point. Lourd is trying to get people to engage in an intellectual discussion of what we (madlang pipol) considers beautiful and meaningful. He is right in a way because our society is heavily influenced by these so called fashionistas and all sorts of stylists through tv, film and print ads. There needs to be a balance on what is superficially beautiful and beauty that doesn't come from what you look on the outside but with your thoughts, what and how you do things, how you express yourself in writing or speech or even movement and how you conduct yourself towards others. There are many ways how one can be beautiful.

    1. Natumbok mo!

    2. But doesn't he contradict himself when he made unnecessary derogatory comments?

      Delete
    3. I couldn't agree more on you titah! magaling kah.

      To Anon 04:18 am

asan ang derogatory duon? sometimes the truth really is so sharp and hurting that the majority would usually think that it is something that is already derogatory.

      Delete
  37. Read through the comments and many would say he is being profound though his physical attributes do not justify the angst that is in this satirical speech. Sad to break the news but, that's his point exactly! Many people are so shallow on their perception of beauty and fashion as if someone commits a crime for wearing an unflattering dress or for having a "less than appealing" face.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Tama. they just justified the article written by Lourd.

  38. pwede ko na sana iappreciate yung article, kaso knowing the author, this is just so ironic!

    ReplyDelete
  39. so sa panghuhusga mo sa mga fashionista feeling mo you're better than them na?

Echos!

  41. Oh well, ganyan talaga si Lourd.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just let them be... sino ba ang ayaw mag mukhang maganda or attractive? kanya kanyang trip lang yan... i do buy from ukay and i buy sa dept store lang pag sale but i won't judge anyone who buys branded clothes... as long as it's not my money (directly) or indirectly (nakaw na yaman)

  44. This is not even worth a publish. Ang babaw ng ideyolohismo ng taong ito. Nagpapatalino, feeling lang naman. Daming sabi. Wala naman sya silbi sa lipunan. Try reading FP's blogs, para malaman nya tamang pagsusulat, yung may sense. Malalim at makahulugan.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nagsusulat si Lourd based on his point of view and based on what he understands. Stereo typing kasi ginagawa nya e. Parang you have seen one, you have seen them all. I think kt is unfair to label them as walang pakialam sa current issues at walang ginagawa para sa mga less fortunates. Tigilan mo na to, Lourd. Like what Jasmine said, i agree on some of your views but dito sa pinupunto mo, you are being unfair

    ReplyDelete
  46. "I think what I often see it that people are frightened about fashion. Because it scares them or make them feel insecure they just put it down. On the whole people that may say, the demeaning things about our world I think that's usually because they feel, in some ways, excluded or, you know, not a part of 'the cool group' so as a result they just mock it. Just because you like to put on a beautiful Carolina Herrera dress or a pair of J Brand blue jeans instead of something basic from K-Mart it doesn't mean that you're a dumb person. There is something about fashion that can make people really nervous." - Anna Wintour

    ReplyDelete
  47. "Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your orocan aparador and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue hat, for instance because YOU'RE TRYING SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HARD TO CONVICE THE WORLD THAT YOU TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY TO CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU COVER YOUR BALDING HEAD. But what you don't know is that that hat is not just blue, it's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the SM department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic casual corner, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. HOWEVER, THAT BLUE REPRESENTS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND COUNTLESS JOBS and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the hat that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff." - Miranda Priestly

whatever fashion statement a person wants to make is none of your business. actually, it's really interesting how you made time to write an article about fashion. it seems like you've thought a lot to come up with different points of view to sound eloquent and intellectual. in fair view, i think you had good intentions why you wrote this, but the outcome didn't seem to match up with your intentions.

nonetheless, i would like to congratulate you for getting the people's attention. hindi ba parte naman yan ng trabaho mo? i think that's the most successful thing about this article, not much of the content but for catching the readers' attention... mas controversial, mas maraming perang makukuha.
