Mr. and Mrs. Really Just 12 hrs

The contract of this female celebrity endorser strictly states that she can only work for 12 hours in a day, from 10 am to 10 pm. For the shooting of TV commercials, this time frame is unrealistic because unlike TV series, commercials require better quality and therefore need more takes. She usually comes to the set late in the morning and spends between two to three hours for her hair and make-up to be done. During the day, she is normally pleasant to everyone but when the clock strikes 10pm, the director, the producer, the crew and even the clients see her sudden mood change. She becomes grouchy and makes it clear to everyone that her husband has been calling her and insisting that she goes home as soon as possible.

Her husband is no different. He comes to the set late and when the 12 hours have been consumed, he tunes out without providing any leeway. It seems like the couple has this drama of calling each other on the final hour so that everyone on the set is aware that they have one last work hour remaining for the day. A veteran production guy noted that this male celebrity endorser was very easy to work with prior to him marrying the female celebrity endorser.

This husband and wife pair has signed numerous endorsement contracts lately. It is obvious that they are doing it for the money. I do not see anything wrong with that, but at least they have to feel for the brand. One time during a commercial shoot, a brand manager was on the set sharing his sentiments about this male celebrity endorser with the production team. He mentioned that the past celebrity endorsers of his brands were warm, easy to talk to, and would always project their affinity for the product. Without being told, they would mention the brand that they are endorsing when they appear on TV shows and would even offer to attend  promotional events. This male celebrity endorser is nothing like that. He is distant, cold and appears to be uninterested in the products that he is endorsing. The client feels that it is just pure business for him and his wife.

Some production people have professed that the two of them are two of the most difficult celebrities that they have ever worked with. If you do not know who they are, follow micsylim on twitter to get more clues. Please continue to email your stories to michaelsylim@gmail.com.

  1. R and J... The ones who had the "secret" wedding hooplah? :-)

I noticed that R's been getting a LOT of endorsements/exposures lately. Si J, parang nabawasan given that she just gave birth and has to yet lose all the weight she put back on.

That is, if it is R and J.

  3. The Mrs seem nice and soft spoken but in her most recent commercial she did throw a fit on the press con because somebody pointed out that she is fat. She said it is normal to gain weight unlike the reporter who will never experience that.

  5. There are very few couple doing commercials,
    1. The V and L
    2. M and G
    3. A and S
    4. before the split A and Y

My guess is the 3rd one who met in a superhero show

  6. So I guess this husband is R who used to host a youth-oriented debate show? Too bad, he seems like a genuinely nice person pa naman. Whatever happened?

  19. ay may AP as in attitude problem daw si R guy (kung siya nga eto). i heard from a friend na nakatira kung san malapit shinoshoot yung superhero show dati, ayaw daw nya ng may mga taong nanonood kapag nagsshoot ng mga scenes nya! panay raw ng mura sa mga staff na paalisin sila. kaloko!!

wag naman sana sya maging "in-HEAT" paminsan!! :)) crush ko pa naman sya dati. shucks!

  20. R is into racing. It is said that when he goes to this certain speedway up north, actually, central luzon, he has this PA who would remove his shoes for him and put on his racing shoes for him. Grabe lang ang pagka-don!

  21. Hay Naku you agreed to their terms and conditions tapos aangal-angal kayo. If they are difficult to work with then DO NOT renew their contracts! DEMAND that they report on time ---- then they can go home at their appointed hour. Dapat professional lahat! Madalas kasi ini-spoil ang mga talents porke sikat tapos nagrereklamo at bina-blind item lol.

    ReplyDelete
  22. hay naku. yung friend ko bad trip dyan sa lalake. maarte daw. mapapel at mayabang daw. katrabaho nya yung babae. may photoshoot shoot. hindi pa daw tapos. madami pang kukunan. unang una matagal daw ang make-up an. meron pang piliian ng damit. madaming set up. nung pag-patak ng alas sais, finish or not finish pass your papers na? text ng text ang lalake. nagbubulongan na. uwi na daw. ganun? wala pa nga sa kalahati ng kelangan ishoot. pinpilit na umuwi na yung babae.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i dont think its J n R coz i read the tweets frm stylist to make up artist to PA's when they shoot a commercials they have early call times and why endorsement are pouring in if they r hard to work with?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well, I think the one who has a problem here is the company who agreed to such condition. It is no longer the problem of the talent. And I think that it is very unprofessional of these production people to tattle what is happening behind the scene. Tatanggapin niyo yung condition na ten to ten tapos rereklamo kayo.

There ought to be a law regarding blind items because they are being used as a fodder that the viewing public are gobbling up as truth.

  25. R&J no doubt about it. Kasi contrary to what J displayed in public being a "veteran actress", mataray naman sya sa totoong buhay. I never understood what they saw in each other. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't think this is Z and C. Z doesn't really have endorsements of his own that I've noticed. All his commercials are with this wife/family.

For me, there's nothing wrong about demanding that they only work for 12 hours a day. I don't think that's unreasonable at all. I would imagine the production crew would be exhausted as well, after 12 hours of work. Plus, they have kids, so I the couple would want to be home for their children (although 10pm would be late for the kids, I think). And if the production company agreed to that, then it's their responsibility not to run late and end at 10pm as agreed upon.

That being said, the guy shouldn't be arriving late. That's just unprofessional under any circumstances, even more so if you have very strict limits on your time. If you arrive late, then you have to be willing to compensate for the time, since it's your fault everything got delayed to begin with.

  27. If the contract specifies the activities in the 12h time frame, both parties must abide with it. It is a well known fact that most stars who do not have that much clout yet, are prone to get abused by extending their working hours up to the wee hours of the morning. The free plugging of the product by mere mention in every guesting is a turn off, masyadong hard sell.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If this is R and J, there must be a reason why they specified the work hours in their contracts. The girl just gave birth. They have small kids to attend to. They also have responsibilities as parents.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think it's R and J, not Z and C. Z is not really a celebrity endorser unlike R who started out as a commercial model. Plus R and J have a lot of endorsements lately from milk to detergent. If they want to work within a 12 hour shift they should be ready when the clock strikes at 10am, meaning the wife should be made up and dressed by 10am. Pag patak ng 10am, take agad. The clients should indicate that in the clause para clear. And yes J is fat right now so why throw a hissy fit? If conscious pa sya sa figure nya then she shouldn't have agreed to appear on cam until she loses the weight. Curiously she's always been fat naman, di ba siopao or ensaymada nga tawag sa kanya back in the days? Kelan lang naman pumayat yan ah.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The producers and clients know what NOT to do next time which is to hire either or both of them again

  34. this is definitely J and R. Have heard stories about R specifically being quite the demanding celeb. J is nice but follows her husband (or maybe she likes the good cop role next to his bad cop one).

  35. the clue is in the title - Really Just = R + J... :)

  36. ok lang naman ganun eh...usually pag nasa superstar status nasa contract yon. kung nasa contract nila yung 12 hours of work, no problem kung gusto mo nang umuwi ng after 12 hours of work. the problem is, wag lang sila papa-late...ang hirap kasi dito sa pinas, call time ng gantong oras, ilang oras pa delay bago magshoot...sistema ng entertainment industry ang problema. saka pag may anak ka na, maiintindihan mo na hindi mo na rin pag-aari ang oras mo...kung they made it clear na hanggang 10pm lang sila, eh di dapat 10pm! sundin nila yon, kumuha sila ng superstar eh...ang problema lang sa superstar na to, kung sya nga ito, dapat rumispeto din sya sa oras na ibinigay nya, since sya nagimpose ng 10 to 10...opinion from a mother of 2...

  37. the clue again -- the title.... Mr. & Mrs. Realiy Just 12 hours =)

    ReplyDelete
  38. J, yes, the 12-hour clause is in her contract. She is also aloof and keeps to herself on the set. Ganun din pala si R?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think it's R and J because the title says Mr. and Mrs. Really Just 12 hours.

Same old storyline in all of their commercials, the husband-and-wife drama. Getting married is lucrative business. We KNOW you're married. It's stupid to keep rubbing it in.

    ReplyDelete
  43. i think it's R & J. ayun na yung clue oh.. =)
kung naka-state sa contract na 10-10 lang sila pwede mag-work, wala dapat problema... pero sana wag mag-init ang ulo nila at i-remind na lang nila in a nice way ang staff na until 10pm lang sila pwede mag-work... i think we can't blame them kung gusto nilang 10-10 lang, bata pa ang mga kids nila and they might want to spend quality time with them =)

    ReplyDelete
  44. if you based it on the title. mr and mrs Really Just 12 hrs --- well, with emphasis to R and J, obviously it is the power couple.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Z and C? They have soooo many endorsements. But they seem so nice too.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Really Just - given the title, I guess it's R and J.

    Fak na fak!

    ReplyDelete
  56. paninira lang iyan ng isang brand of endorsement na hindi napaboran at hindi na-accept ng couple becoz it has a conflict with their other endorsement.

    ReplyDelete
  57. To be fair with the couple dapat naman talaga may cut-off. Minsan kasi pag walang cut-off yun production ang bagal at least pag alam nilang may cut-off ang celebrity bibilisan nila, eh di tapos ang trabaho.

    ReplyDelete
  58. it's C & Z .. diba fave expression ni C ung "really???"

    ReplyDelete
  59. If it's in the contract that they should only work 'til 10pm, then I think the company , the production staff, etc., should honor that. If they have a problem with that, I think they should get endorsers with more flexibility in their schedule.

To Mr. & Mrs Really Just, be more responsible and come on time, if you demand that you only have to work 12hours, then work the full 12hours stated in the contract. Be professional, huwag mag-inarte.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think there is nothing wrong with this and should not merit a space in the FP as a blind item. If their contract states that their working hours is only from this to that, then the production should respect that. Magagawa yan if the production is organized. Minsan or most of the time kasi, di masyado handa and disorganized ang production kaya may delay. I am siding with Mr and Mrs R J 12 hours. Tama sila.

    ReplyDelete
  61. No issue naman if they want to work 12hours lang. The issue i think is being late and all. Sana lang be professional. If you demand na 12 hrs lang, be responsible enough to come on time. Nakakaturn off kasi yun late yun artists lalo na may time constraint.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think its tiring to be an artista who has to keep a friendly and accommodating front ALL the time. That's why when they made it na, they can show their fangs when they need to, unlike when they were up and coming pa lang. We often read horror stories of shooting for soaps that lasts for God knows when...I also witnessed a soap by heart network shot at Tagaytay where 1 segment was re-shot more than 10 times, iyakan pa mn din...Grrr! Lanta na ang artistang tomboy.

    ReplyDelete
  63. If it's stated in the contract, then we shouldn;t judge the couple. May karapatan sila. But, I have heard from a friend who worked with the girl in one of commercials, nice naman daw si J. Very friendly and all. But when R arrived to picked her up, aba! Sumimangot bigla to make the staff feel that she wants to wrap up the shoot.

I saw R in one of the malls in Alabang. He was so mayabang and noisy. Too noisy for a guy. He was obviously showing off kasi that time, pasikat pa lang siya. It's true when they say na pag pandak, mayabang. Tabi-tabi po. Hihi! :p

    ReplyDelete
  64. I don't see any problem with both stars. If it's stated that they'd be working for 12 hours, then the production staff should just deal with it. After all, it's what the contract states. Besides, both stars, well, safe to say, J earned her status and R is, likewise, creeping up the showbiz ladder towards superstardom. So, I see no problem in this.

The issue is actually regarding the ones working with the talents. They know that 12 hours is the limit and even before the production of the show, for instance, they know that both stars have time limits. It's not professional, on their part, to be badmouthing these two.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not a fan of both stars, but it just needs some understanding, I guess. It's not their fault they're raising a family while juggling work.

If it's part of the contract, the team should simply abide by the stipulations.

    Yun na.

    -J

    ReplyDelete
  65. it's not c and z because they are not married. therefore they are not husband and wife.

    ReplyDelete
  66. No problem with their 12-hour rule since they have a family to attend to. And yung affinity sa products, well, hindi naman required yun. With their status in the biz sobra na kung ieendorse pa nila yung products ng wala sa usapan.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Let's cut J some slack. She has been working her a** off since she could learn to say her name. T'is only now that she gets to enjoy a little me time with her child. Just follow the contract, period.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Nyek! Nakalagay naman pala sa contract e.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  70. sino si C and Z?

aun actually kaya siguro merong ganung contract na 10-10 dahil sa mga anak nila. ayaw nilang maging workaholic. then tama ung isang comment na order them to be on time..

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  72. Whoever the BI is, may K naman sila to add that clause in their contract. If they came to work 10 am and stayed til 10pm then they fulfilled whatever is in the contract. They worked 12 hours. From what I hear and I don't know if it's true, sa Pilipinas lang yung mga artista working long hours compared to the working hours sa States ng mga actors. May nagi-inarte lang at sinisiraan yung mga endorsers baka kc they can't command the same thing. Bitter much?

    ReplyDelete
  73. hindi ba si C and R to?

    ReplyDelete
  74. A person should only work an average of 9 hours lang in a day, kahit sino namang tao, mabababadtrip to work for 12 hours straight or more. Ang mahirap kasi sa prod teams and sa clients, sa sobrang pagtitipid, they try to max out the whole 24 hours in a day to shoot a commercial para lang masabi na one day yung shoot.

abangan niyo na lang marami pang lalabas na commercial ang mag asawa kasama mga anak nila...pano nging difficult to work with kong a lot of ad agency wants be to their endorser???? and keep renewing thier contract? and tht's the irony of it..and how can their pa's stayed with them for more than a decade if theyre attitude is primadonna...think first and get some solid evidence before u blah blah blah's celebrities life..

    ReplyDelete
  78. they know it takes hard work to be successful in showbiz. i think they can do that 12hr thing in their contract but in case they come in late they should be open to go overtime para ma reach lang yung 12hr frame. Diba para fair lang for everyone? Sa dulo it's a relationship..both parties need each other.

I think celebrities purposely put that aloof demeanor para hindi sila guluhin sa private time nila though on the other hand, aware lang sila dapat na hindi ok dating nila sa iba. They can be low key naman while still looking respectful. They need to master that

    ReplyDelete

And always assume that it's a business relationship.

And oh, bagay na mag-BFF sina J at mega actress S. LOL!

  94. I agree with Anonymous June 16, 2011 11:59 AM

Sometimes hindi naman yung talent ang cause ng delay or long hours. Minsan yung production din. Minsan ok na yung take pero may mali sa camera or sounds etc kaya ulit ng ulit.

And yes, if it's stated in their contract na 10am-10pm lang sila edi beforehand pa pala alam na ng production yun they should follow nalang. Kung hindi pa tapos ang shoot at 10pm na they should continue the next day nalang even if the talent was late. Yes it is very unprofessional coming in late. But these things happen and dapat anticipated na ng company, may nakalaan na na budget dapat for contingency.

I'm not a fan of theirs but upon reading the comments may positive and negative written about sa ugali nila. Which leads me to think na hindi naman sila masamang tao, they just have days na badtrip sila just like everybody else. And I think they wouldn't need to do the grumpy thing every last hour kung hindi nila na experience yung laging may extended work hours. Baka gumawa na sila ng sariling tactic nila since hindi sinusunod yung agreed time most of the time. Just speculating here.

Regarding naman sa affinity with the product, if I'm the owner of the brand I wouldn't get endorsers because they love my product, especially if my product doesn't "sell" values. I would get them because their face would help me sell my product, whether or not they love it. Especially for things like laundry detergent. Alanganin namang isingit bigla ni R sa spiels nya sa show na I love this laundry detergent, or si J biglang magsabi I love this powdered milk. Yes, it's a business. And they're not the only ones who are like this.

  97. I heard a lot of horror stories about R too here in the South. Some people who know him call him "Kup..." you get the word. Apparently he's quite an ass and very mayabang.

Wag magpaka-talangka. Bakit pag natapos ba ng maaga at nakatipid may bonus ba? Peace.

  100. There's nothing wrong with the couple requesting for the 12 hour rule since they're already parents, but what's not ok is to be grouchy. If it's already time to pack up, they can remind the production staff in a nice way. If they won't let them leave, that would be an issue since their contract states the 12 hour rule. Anyway, people say J's nice, or was nice before she met R, is that true? R, on the other hand, has always been called 'mayabang'. I hope R didn't influence J with his attitude problem. I noticed J has always been gracious to fans and the press, when she met him, it's like every interviews were limited. She's a superstar, and her fans are the reason why she made it in the industry, and yet, she hid her wedding to the public. Kudos to Sharon Cuneta who shared her special moment (Sharon&Gabby Wedding) to the people who made her a megastar.

  101. If it's R, I feel bad naman...I met him 10 years ago, he landed on a hosting job at kapuso network, defunct morning show where I was having my internship. he was down to earth, he even invited us to have break fast at tapa king, and i remember, he we asked him if would go into acting, and he said it's not really his forte, and he would stick to hosting. :)

    ReplyDelete
  104. personally, i do not think that Jude Law and Ryan Seacrest can be like this. They looks so positive pa naman as a couple.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I think it's really unfair na maakusahan sila ng ganyan...ive worked with them recently, and wala naman silang mga ganyang pinapakita..after the shoot nag record and pictorial pa sila lagpas lagpas na nga sa 10 hours yung shoot pero they still finished everything without being grumpy or masungit..very accommodating silang mag asawa sa mga taong maayos making usap..lahat naman tayo may mga bad days na tinatawag..why single out these couple? Para sa naniniwala sa blind item na Ito..without experiencing working with them, humimto muna kayo sa pag cocomment..wag masyadong rude..I think 12 working hours is ok...sobra sobra na nga yun, lalo pa Kung everyday ka ring may iba pang ginagawa..give them a break guys..they don't deserve such bad words..because they're not like that at all..and I am not close to these couple at all, just so happens that I like them both, because they're very accommodating..and one more thing..the crew loves working with them..simply because they treat these people with so much respect.....irespeto na Lang natin Kung anong decision nila..deserve nilang mag demand yun Lang yun...peace...

  106. Got it! :))) Thanks to Anonymous June 16, 2011 7:19AM. :D

"R&J no doubt about it. Kasi contrary to what J displayed in public being a "veteran actress", mataray naman sya sa totoong buhay. I never understood what they saw in each other. :)".

    CLUE:
R= Nasa Kapatid network sya at host ng TP. :)
J= Bida sya ng isang teleserye nung 1990s. Ginawan ng remake yung teleserye na yun. :) She always says that she's a PANATAG MOM dahil sa product na ineendorse nya.

  107. Idk about J, but I talked to R one time during a product launch, he was very accommodating. He sounded like a normal person, sans any air of superiority at all. It's as if I wasn't talking to an artista.

I actually asked him out of whim, "how's J doing?". He told me something like she's resting at home coz delicate yung pregnancy yada yada. And when I asked him if I could take his picture with a friend (who's with me during the event), and he gladly obliged.

  108. It is not R and J. My bestfriend works with J right now for Junior Master Chef, she is very nice and friendly to all the prod staff. Si R is a schoolmate at Dlsu, he is very shy talaga pero when he warms up he is nice. My bro in law drifts with him. Baka si Z and C nga!

    ReplyDelete
  109. i think that the sender of this BI really was pointing to J and R, however, it seems odd that they would be like this. They are nice people. They didn't change.

    ReplyDelete
  110. they seem nice yes but it's different when you get to deal with them. it's a different thing na makausap mo ng minsan lang to totally judge their character. they have their quirks. hindi ko sinasabing masama silang tao, pero may mga quirks sila or in other words "kaartehan". mahirap na lang magsalita.

  112. To anonymous June 16 at 3:15 Nakasimangot si J kasi tinititigan mo sya. So what if she's not smiling and tried to be inconspicuous?! It's a freaking funeral, not a presscon for a movie. It wasn't her place to be in the spotlight at a FUNERAL.

  113. To June 17, 2011 6:43am

And again, babayaran ka din naman the next day e so anung problema?

  117. There's nothing wrong with this.
There's nothing wrong with imposing a 12 hour work rule.. 12 hours is actually long, especially if Mr and Mrs "12 hours" want to spend quality time with their kids while earning a living as well.

    ReplyDelete
  118. yup there's nothing wrong with twelve hours pero kung yung third nun eh naubos sa make-up at chika, hindi na twelve hours yun. kasama dyan ang break at ang pagiging late. hindi lang minutes late ha. hours late.

  119. nothing worng with the contract.. something worng with the attitude.. if it's true. but I doubt it. siguro nagbubulungan lang kasi di nila ma confront ang prod. kung si MR pa yan, baka nag ta ta talak na..

  120. My support to them is still intact regardless of this issue. I have been a fan of J since I was 6 years old and all these years I have heard discriminatory statements about her. I love this blog because it surfaced the flaws of our favorite celebrities whom we hailed as perfect individuals. However, let's not forget that we are not created with perfections. We can still enjoy this blog without overthrowing them with blatant comments. Remember we owe this entertainment to them.

    Amicable xoxo
