A Bitter and Calculated Gloating

It seems like it was just yesterday when the very public break-up of TC and EB caught the public by surprise. At the height of their unconventional relationship, many people were cynical of EB, questioning the strength of his resolve and commitment to TC. Years after, these cynics were proven right – the couple broke up.
Long after they went separate ways, both TC and EB claimed to have moved on – but to a certain extent, it seems not so for TC. The many sightings of her with either EB or NG or both, proved that she is not yet completely over with EB, and unfortunately, NG is like the one on the receiving end of TC’s angst.
On several showbiz events, the trio - TC, EB and NG – get to bump into each other a number of times. All too often, these sightings were expected but reportedly, unwelcomed for TC. Allegedly, the still hurting TC devises ways to retaliate at NG.
At a trade show event, TC reportedly suggested (read: insisted) to the production that her number should come right after NG’s - and it did. The result was mission accomplished for TC as it was clear from the audience’s applause that she had successfully upstaged NG.
The latest was a fashion show where TC made sure that she would again be ramping away after NG. The show was a major one compared to the others before, but for some reason, NG walked the ramp quite awkwardly. It was at this juncture that TC allegedly took advantage of the situation. When her turn came, she took the catwalk oozing with so much confidence, walking like a real mannequin – like a real scene-stealer. The audience’s overwhelming reaction further nailed TC’s winning moment once more.
Observers close to her quipped that TC deliberately carried it out to send a message to all concerned: that she (TC) cannot and will never be on equal footing with a ‘starlet’, and that what she did only put NG to where she rightfully belongs.

Arrested For Marijuana, Jackie Chan's Son Could Face Execution

Chinese actor and singer Jaycee Chan was arrested for marijuana consumption and possession in Beijing Monday. The son of Jackie Chan, he could face up to three years in prison or, at worst, even execution if convicted.
Last night, China Central Television (CCTV) reported that Beijing police had arrested 32-year-old Jaycee Chan, real name Fang Zuming, and Taiwanese actor Ko Chen-tung. Both tested positive for marijuana consumption. The younger Chan was also caught with over 100 grams of marijuana in his Beijing home. Jaycee Chan, best known in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland for film roles in Mulan and 2 Young, joined the Chinese entertainment industry in the 2000's. His arrest is the highest profile drug bust in recent history.

China has executed convicts over drug related offenses in the past. China doesn't release individual data over the amounts drugs they were carrying. Traditionally, China executes drug offenders on the UN's International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. According to AFP, China executed six people in 2010 over drug dealing related cases.
The South China Morning Post reports that action star Jackie Chan has landed in Beijing to help his son.
Jackie Chan is a current member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, part of China's legislative body. He's also an anti-drugs spokesperson in China, a position he's held since 2009. Jackie Chan maintains several business and investment ventures within the Chinese mainland and has several ties to the ruling communist party. The father and son duo are featured prominently in many advertisements across the Chinese speaking regions, including Singapore and Malaysia.

Over the course of the last two months, over 7,800 people were caught in Beijing alone for drug related offences. Since Nov 2013, China has been on an anti-corruption campaign led by President Xi Jinping. The country has also cracked down on prostitution.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of influence Jackie Chan can pull out to save his son from a lengthy prison stay. But even with his celebrity and political power, don't expect his son to get off totally scot-free amid this crackdown.

Gloomy Sales of the Concert Event

The producers had much faith in AD and AS such that they rented one of the biggest venues in the place for the showcase of the talents of AD and AS. Unfortunately, their gamble did not pay off. Sometime later, tickets were already given out for free, but still the required number of people was not achieved.
It seems that AD and AS did not have as much following as expected, or perhaps, the local community wanted more artists to perform with the two. While AD and AS are competent with their skills, both still have to prove their box-office power. Although AS has been a popular face in the network since he won a contest several years ago, popularity has eluded him. Meanwhile, the network is building the career of AD by including him in hit movies and partnering him with popular young actresses.
In contrast to the low ticket sales of AD and AS, the concert of controversial singer-host comedian (CS) is already sold out, even if the event will still be held next month. The market of the area obviously indicates that between watching AD and AS, ticket buyers obviously prefer CS. The camps of AD and AS should learn from this experience. Despite talents and looks, promotions and other creative means are essential elements for the success of any show abroad.

The Story is Not Justified

A Fashion Personality FP and Her Chum HC are reported to be the source of a supposed scandal that allegedly happened in a Bar Lounge BL in a 5-star hotel recently.
The very ugly incident had it that at about 3am, a Food Attendant FA at BL approached the last group of customers and politely told them that it was already closing time. FA suggested that they may wish to transfer to a nearby area of the hotel which would be open 24/7 and where a table was already reserved for them.
The customers, one of them a Socialite SO, were having drinks and reportedly didn’t like what they heard from FA, like he was driving them away. Allegedly, SO, together with her companion - a High Falutin Diplomat HD, shouted and berated the poor FA.
The group - all four (4) of them, reportedly didn’t leave the place and continued with their drinking. After a few minutes, FA went back to their table to remind them once again that it was already closing time. It was at this point that SO reportedly blew her top, castigated FA and spat at him!
Even after the spitting incident, the group allegedly refused to leave and stayed at the bar for two more hours. End of the story.
This very juicy piece landed in the lifestyle section of a major national daily as a blind item and became hot copy that sent kibitzers asking who the antagonists were. Expectedly, it reached the enclaves of the Rich and Famous RF who grew very impatient with the guessing game – they wanted to know who the spitfire SO and notorious HD were. From the details of the story,it was evident to RF’s that SO and HD could be moving within their circle and they wanted them unmasked asap.
But here’s the gist: there will be no unmasking and no names will be given for SO and HD. Because they are fictitious characters – and the story is just a figment of the imagination. Whoa!
A very reliable source relayed that HC himself confessed that he was the one behind this story in cahoots with his friend FP who is quite known in the industry. He said that they had to make-up the story and make it juicy and palatable knowing that it would catch on instantly and spread fast among their target audience – the RF’s. In fact, they even staged a sort of a talk show thingy, courtesy of another accomplice, a female TV Personality TP who herself also got embroiled in a major scandal with a close relative.
Why did they do that, what was their agenda?
HC admitted that he and FP fabricated the story to generate publicity for BL which has not been doing well for a long time. They believe that with such a bombshell, RF’s would be madly curious and will pay a visit and patronize BL once more.
Are times so desperate as to call for such desperate measures? Btw, how much was paid to the "creative team" to pull off this stunt? They may want to answer at their own risk.
