Still More of the Same
This is Controversial Star CS whose image is undergoing some serious overhaul. Observers believe that no amount of repackaging will work if the old attitudes haven’t left.
When CS made a major career move, it was then that the public saw some relevant changes in her. She had become more visible on television and social media. It was evident that she was a lot busier, her hands full with more stuff that had eluded her for years: projects, social invitations and charitable/civic concerns, and most of all, endorsements.
Indeed, it was a welcome change and a big turnaround for her. Her fans and followers couldn’t be happier. That being said, CS believes that the ball is now on her court to prove herself to her public, especially to skeptics, that she is deserving of it all.
CS Drama Series DS was to be a test case. It was no surprise that DS, with a casting coup and staffed with the network’s most talented, was heavily trumpeted and expectations were really high.
Yet weeks after DS premiered, the high momentum had lost its grip fast. Currently, DS is reportedly on anemic mode - as in doing badly in the ratings game. Hardly are commercial loads, which are the lifeline of any tv shows, coming in. Last heard was that it is now up on the chopping board.
Though mad and hurt, CS is tough, still in fighting form. Reportedly, she argued and blamed the network for the fate of DS saying that its shows fail because it doesn’t promote its programs the way its Rival Network RN does. CS said that RN is so good at hyping up and building viewers’ interest even if the show’s material is bad, or is rating poorly.
Allegedly, CS uttered something that sounded like it was okay for her if the network chops her show as long as that show of Hot Momma HM goes ahead of hers. And to top it all, CS further argued that the series of arch rival from RN had to be the first to go among the three (3) of them.
Reportedly, it is for this reason why DS was extended further. Tough act. If this is so, the power that CS wields is quite intriguing. Hmmm…
Note that all the mentioned series were launched simultaneously.

Arrest Warrants Out vs Cedric Lee, 4 Others for Serious Illegal Detention

A Taguig court has issued arrest warrants against model Deniece Cornejo, businessman Cedric Lee and three others accused in the mauling of actor-TV host Vhong Navarro.
The arrest warrants were issued by Judge Paz Esperanza Cortes of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 271 against Cornejo, Lee, Jed Fernandez, Simeon Raz Jr. and Ferdinand Guerrero in connection with the serious illegal detention case filed by Navarro.
Serious illegal detention is a non-bailable offense.
According to Chief Supt. Jose Erwin Villacorte of the Southern Police District, they received the arrest warrants at around 12 noon.
Villacorte refused to comment on why the two others accused in the case -- Bernice Lee and Jose Calma -- are not included in the arrest warrants issued by the court.
"Subject pa to further evaluation," Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said. "It means the judge made her own independent evaluation of the facts and the evidence. Ipapa-evaluate ko 'yan sa panel of prosecutors namin, if there's need to file motion for partial reconsideration or a motion reiterrating the previous motion for the issuance of warrants of arrest against everybody kung hindi sakop lahat."

The January 22 incident took place at Cornejo's condominium unit in Taguig. Navarro was tied up, blindfolded and mauled by the group, and was then brought to the Southern Police District where he was made to sign a blotter that details his supposed attempt to rape Cornejo.
Last week, arrest warrants in connection with the criminal charge of grave coercion were issued against Lee's group.
Cornejo and Fernandez have since posted P12,000 bail for the grave coercion case.

What a Savory Flavor
VS starred in a TV drama with Young Hunk YH in a major role. During its entire run, VS and YH, as well as the rest of the cast and staff became close, bonded often and formed new friendships. However, the group began to notice the ‘extra closeness’ of VS and YH. It was reported that during taping, there were times that VS and YH would just disappear. That started the teasing that they look perfect together, which the two dismissed right away, saying that everything was just clean fun – or so it seemed.
Nonetheless, the closeness of the group did not end when the series concluded as they remained in touch with one another – especially VS and YH.
Several months after the series ended, reports have it that VS and YH continue to see each other regularly. Allegedly, it’s more than just friendship this time. To others, there is nothing wrong as both are supposed to be single...or are they?
The couple had been regularly sighted on out-of-town together. Recently there were alleged sightings of YH frequenting the house of VS. Every time this happened, YS would reportedly have the kids and the yaya’s sent out of the house, and when they returned, YH would have already left.
It was reportedly for this reason that the Previous ‘Bff’ PB…or rich benefactor of YH had distanced himself from him. PB is known in the biz as one who doesn’t go for ‘sharing.’

Wack Wack Probes Mar Roxas ‘Outburst’
Image couretsy of www.ohilnews.com
Source: www.philstar.com
The Wack Wack Golf and Country Club is investigating a complaint that Manuel Roxas II berated and cussed employees of the club for demanding that he pay the green fee for a golf pro he had invited to give golf lessons to his guest.
Roxas is a registered member of the exclusive club, where the green fee is P5,100 per head.
A report submitted to the Wack Wack administration showed the incident took place on April 6, a Sunday, at around noon at the club’s registration office.
Before the incident, Roxas informed the staff that his guest would be getting golf lessons from golf pro Rey Pagunsan.
The incident was first reported by GMA 7 broadcaster Arnold Clavio in his Abante column. The names of the staff involved were not mentioned.
On being told that he needed to pay the green fee of P5,100 for Pagunsan, Roxas reportedly lost his cool and shouted at the staff member.
“T___ina! Kailan pa nagkaroon ng ganyang rules (Since when did the club have these rules)?” Roxas reportedly told off another staff.
When one of the club’s staff insisted that Roxas pay the fee, the DILG chief reportedly shot back: “T____ ina! Walang presi-presidente sa akin!” It was not clear why he made reference to a president or whether he was referring to club president Philip Ella Juico.
The club personnel then told Roxas that they would just call the general manager to help clear things up. But again Roxas allegedly shouted, “T____ ina! Walang bawal-bawal sa akin!”(Nothing is prohibited with me.)
A witness recalled that the commotion attracted the attention of Roxas’ wife, broadcaster Korina Sanchez, who asked if there was a problem. Roxas answered, “Walang bawal, bawal sa akin!” Roxas eventually left the registration office.
When he was about to tee off, another course employee reportedly asked for the receipt of the green fee but Roxas snarled at him.
Club membership chairman Frederico “Butch” Campos Jr. declined to comment when reached by The STAR and referred the issue to Juico, who said they would investigate the incident after the Holy Week break.
“We will look into it. We will study Sec. Mar Roxas’ letter and invite those involved in the incident. But since it’s Holy Week, we can only act on this next week and hopefully come up with a decision,” said Juico, who received the report upon his arrival Tuesday after covering the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley rematch for Solar Sports.
Roxas earlier sent a letter to club members giving his side.
Pagunsan, for his part, denied that Roxas had badmouthed any of the club’s personnel. “Basta sinabi lang niya na babayaran na lang niya yung green fee ko pagkatapos ng laro namin (He just told them that he would pay my green fee after our game),”
“Pero noong pa tee-off na kami sa backnine ay sinabihan na naman kami na dapat daw bayaran yung green fee ko (But when we were teeing off in the backnine, we were told again to pay the green fee),” he said.
“Kung anu-ano na ngang balita ang lumabas pero kahit saan, kahit kanino pwede akong magsalita sa kung ano talaga ang nangyari (A lot of stories were making the rounds but I can tell what really happened, to everyone and anywhere),” said Pagunsan.
Members behaving badly
The rich are different from you and me, F. Scott Fitzgerald famously said. So does that mean the rich – and the powerful – follow a different set of rules?
Wack Wack Golf & Country Club in Mandaluyong City, undoubtedly an enclave of the rich where a proprietary share goes for around P16 million, is currently embroiled in a controversy involving a rich and powerful government official and the rules of the club regarding guests playing on its fabled courses.
Non-members are charged P5,000 green fee plus P100 for the caddie retirement fund for the club’s East Course on weekends. The fee is levied on any non-member who goes out on the course, whether or not he/she actually plays. This applies to teaching pros and the occasional – though discouraged – bodyguard, as was the case recently of a diplomat who apparently got special permission to bring his bodyguard with him due to security threats.
The exemption to this payment rule is for nurses or caregivers of elderly members or those with serious medical conditions who still want their dose of swings and putts.
Wack Wack has had its share of controversy and scandal over its 84-year history. Most famous of these is perhaps the “back off!” and “may P200 ka dyan” incidents of 2008 that supposedly took place at the club involving major players – some of them high government officials – in the scuttled national broadband network deal between the government and Chinese firm ZTE Corp.
That particular scandal hit the headlines and merited a full-blown Senate inquiry.
Members behaving badly are, unfortunately, not all that uncommon. A lawyer-member was suspended for a year for assaulting a waiter. Another was kicked out of the club for repeated incidents of temper outbursts and violence – including dousing a hapless server with a glass of water – and delinquency in settling his account.
A nominee – one endorsed to use the share of another – was not renewed when his endorsement expired for attempted assault on a fellow member in an altercation in the club’s parking lot. The former apparently resented the latter’s sounding his car horn at him.
Another case currently pending before the club’s membership committee which hears disciplinary cases involves a new member who assaulted a caddie, because his brother – who is the member’s regular caddie – allegedly stole money from the member.
The next meeting of the seven-member committee, scheduled for early next month.
Atom Araullo on His Ideal Girl: ‘Age Doesn't Matter’
Source: www.push.abs-cbn.com
Known as one of the most eligible bachelors in news reporting today, Atom shared with PUSH the qualities he looks for in women. “Ano nga ba? Pabago-bago eh. Tuwing tinatanong ako niyan nagbabago yung sagot ko eh, depende sa mood. I'm not the kind of guy who makes lists eh about qualities that I look for. It doesn't matter. For me beautiful is beautiful, it doesn't matter what kind of features they have. It's really a combination of many different things like a nose might not look good on a certain person but if another person wears it, because of a combination of features it looks good.Parang some people are not traditionally beautiful but meron silang dating so ako halo-halo(laughs),” he admitted.
The 31-year-old journalist said passion is one of the qualities that makes a girl attractive to him. “I would say I like girls who are artistic but I also like girls who are athletic and those who are very nerdy. So if you think about it, it's not really one particular pursuit, I just like it when a woman is very passionate about something to the point that you really don't matter (laughs). You know, like they can live their life on their own. They're very independent but independent doesn't really capture the idea eh. It's more of they have their own thing. I guess independent na nga yung pinakamalapit na dun,” he said.
Atom admitted to having dated both women older and younger than him in the past. “Age doesn't matter eh. It's not a factor. I don't know but it's not a factor. Not an issue. It's hard to generalize but I think women who are a bit older are more comfortable with themselves and that's also very attractive but some younger girls are like that also so it's not definitive,” he added.
Atom said he is less likely to be interested in women who are vain. “Alam mo yung kanta ng One Direction yung ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ ba yung title nun? Yun, alam mo cliché as it may sound, when a girl doesn't really know that they're pretty or even if they know they don't really care too much about it or hindi nila masyadong pinag-iisipan, that's very attractive. Honestly only a few are truly like that, genuinely like that. It's hard to fake it kasi it's a combination of this lack of vanity, it doesn't mean they don't like taking care of themselves and how they look but because they're so passionate about other things, that is the least of their concerns. So for me that's very attractive, somebody who could wear a t-shirt and jeans and look absolutely stunning, parang ganun,” he said.
For this eligible bachelor, his future girlfriend doesn't have to be perfect. “Women are different eh. A woman can be very nurturing, can be a homemaker who likes to cook, very good at arts and crafts, typically like that and she could be the right partner but at the same time somebody may not know how to cook but is great at organizing events, who is a leader and that has its own strengths and if you ask me, it really doesn't matter. I don't know, there's a certain combination of things that just click. Pero yun yung central dun eh, yung parang meron silang sariling feet [to stand on their own],” he said.
Bianca Gonzalez to Wed JC Intal in December
Source: www.ph.celebrity.yahoo.com
This, the couple revealed in an exclusive interview on Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday, April 20.
When JC told host Boy Abunda that they’re getting married in December, Bianca recalled that her reaction when she first heard her fiance’s plan was, “Why not? We’re not getting any younger.”
Love nest
Once they settle down, JC ready with his love nest for Bianca and their future family.
“Sobrang blessed ako kasi nandiyan na ang bahay bago mag-asawa, yung lilipatan namin,” JC said.
JC realized he wants to be with Bianca for the rest of his life after they had a lover’s quarrel.
Bianca recalls that day when she went to JC’s house and left in a huff.
Big fight
“We had a big fight. It was my fault. I came from work. Feeling ko, hindi ako pinapansin. Nag walk out ako. When I got home nag-away pa kami sa phone.”
This was why JC’s proposal at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 on March 20 came as big surprise for Bianca.
Bianca admitted she felt weird when she went past the first security check and the two guards on duty gave her a rose each. Bianca got two more roses when she reached the first x-ray area.
The clueless Bianca, used as she is to the ways of showbiz, asked her companion if she was in a gag show.
“Baby I Love Your Way”
An airport staff interrupted her thoughts and said, “Ma’m, you have to go out and verify a package if it’s part of your baggage.”
When she returned to the check-in counter, Bianca recalls how a girl gave her a tarpaulin while live performers sang her favorite love song, “Baby I Love Your Way.”
Two weeks before, JC asked Bianca what her favorite love song is, so when she heard "Baby I Love Your Way" at the airport, she sensed something was about to happen. True enough, when she rolled up the tarpaulin, she read, “Bianca, please say yes,” and JC was already kneeling before her.
When she turned around, all her friends were there with one flower each for her. Bianca couldn’t help but cry.
Out of character
“I was telling him (JC) sobrang out of character (ang nangyari). Sobrang quiet siyang tao. For him to come up with that and to arrange all that, it’s so overwhelming.”
Bianca feels extra lucky and grateful she is marrying a man who “treats me well.” She adds that there’s no formula in finding a guy who’s right for you.
“Never in my wildest dreams na inakala ko magiging deserving ako (nito),” she gushed.
JC, for his part, professed his love for Bianca, this time on nationwide TV.
“I love you. No promises. Of course may mga times na nandiyan ang away-bati tayo pero I think kakayanin natin.”
