A Joint Longing for Ceasefire On Picture-Taking
A celebrity couple went on an out-of-the-country vacation. Once again, their world has been reduced so small as they were pursued by some fans who wanted to take photos with them. As they were entering a restaurant, some girls approached the couple for photos. Boyfriend Actor BA wasn’t in a pleasant mood as he had just awoke from sleep that time. However, he tried to be nice and told the girls to wait a little.
The girls waited excitedly while seated on their table. The wait had become quite long, and soon they were getting impatient. Some more waiting and they could no longer take it. Until one of the girls sarcastically remarked, “ Gosh! Who does he think he is? BA is old and never really good-looking, hmp!
Unfortunately, Girlfriend Actress GA who was just within earshot distance heard the insulting remark. GA faced the girls and retorted annoyingly, “Oh so sure you are he’s old and not good-looking, huh! Why then do you want pictures with him! What about you, don’t you look like a maid yourself! Duh! “
The girls were surprised at GA’s reaction, but soon recovered and left the place.

Not Keen To Please
One day while out in public, HF approached UA to have a photo with her. Instantly, UA got irritated, turned to her group and ranted in her dialect, “These people are so irritating. They’re always drooling at movie stars, always running after us!”
Turned out, the fan heard and understood what UA said – and in a language UA spoke, the fan retorted, “ Your attitude sucks!”
UA was flabbergasted, didn’t know what to do. Unfortunately for her, many people witnessed what happened, and like UA were shocked, too.
There are actually several anecdotes about UA displaying these attitudes. There was an incident when UA’s group was shooting in a prominent province in the South. The shoot was done in a local parish church. Again, UA was not in her pleasant mood, looking annoyed and making her displeasure felt towards the people there.
Her demeanor reached the head of the parish HP who got enraged and insulted. He lamented that other equally popular stars would also visit them and do shoots there, but none have shown an attitude as that of UA’s. In fact, he found other stars kind and respectful. Thus, upon learning of UA’s conduct, HP made a vow never to issue them permit anymore the next time a tv show or movie with UA in it shoots in their place.
One person known to UA quipped that being nice to fans is not asking too much. He believed that had UA been friendly and from the very beginning, she wouldn’t be so bashed as she is now. To which another replied that asking for UA to be nice and all would be laughable because she’s just not cut out for it.

After 16 Years, Beauty Queen Gets Justice
Pageant Organizer, Miss Asia Pacific Quest Inc. and former head Leandro Enriquez, Carousel Productions Inc. and former head Ramon Monzon; co-organizer Lorraine Schuck and 1997 Mutya ng Pilipinas 1st runner-up Sheryll Moraga were ordered to pay Php1.1 Million in damages to Cabrera.
Moraga was the one who replaced Cabrera and assumed the beauty title and crown, including all the prizes therein that should have otherwise gone to the latter.
Assisting Judge Maria Rita Bascos Sarabia of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221 rendered favorable decision on the civil suit filed by Cabrera reiterating that Cabrera's getting dethroned was done without due process.
Cabrera was crowned during the pageant held at Folk Arts Theater on May 3, 1997 and won prizes totalling Php 400,000. She was also crowned as Miss Avon and Miss Lux that gave her P10,000 in prizes each, plus commercial modeling contracts from the said cosmetics and beauty product companies.
It was learned that Cabrera was stripped of the crown after Shuck heard that Cabrera was about to get married to her then boyfriend.
Inspite of being told that what she heard was not true, Shuck allegedly forced her to resign and disown the title because Cabrera was also suspected of being pregnant, and thus she wouldn't be able to accomplish her responsibilities as Mutya ng Pilipinas winner.

Another Jeopardizing Story of His Risky Actions
However, CM was not known to be a “saint” during his bachelor years. He allegedly had several partners that were not from showbiz. While marriage has mellowed him down, CM is still being linked to this and that actress. Meanwhile, AA has been going through several career challenges, and the most recent is one that would test her career. Despite these intrigues, the couple still projects a happy family, which is admirable.
Now, the couple is hounded by a new rumor that could be the result of the alleged playfulness CM. This rumor is circulating among the personnel of a health facility down south. Allegedly, AA and CM were at the health facility for treatment. According to the story, CM contracted an STD, and to make matters worse, he infected his wife. The question is from whom did CM contract such disease? Is he still playing around like how he did prior to settling down with AA?
Even great marriages have terrible years, but don't give up. You will look back on this as a prelude to something richer and fuller than you can ever dream.—Ritu Ghatourey

In the Name of Pork, there are Other Napoleses Who Are Prostituting Themselves in Congress
Janet Lim - Napoles started her trade in the 90’s. Other Scammers OS had been there before her, employing the same modus operandi, but Napoles overtook them by a mile obviously because she’s way smarter and gutsier.
Most OS start on a small scale, initially with a handful of Legislators/Mayors LM to keep them thriving. Through the years, the scheme has evolved to the extent that OS have multiplied in numbers big time. Older OS turn over their lucrative trade to their children (daughters) who of course have grown very familiar with the “business.” Other than daughters, female relatives who can be trusted enough may also carry on.
One can never say that there is conflict of supply (OS) and demand (PDAF). Not so, because the scheme’s driving force is the funds - more funds means more business.
Pork barrel funds aka people’s taxes are the fuel that keep the engine/scam running. Napoles and OS are ecstatic everytime they would learn of additional taxes to be imposed by the government (like E-Vat) or when they hear of other good news (high OFW deployment/remittances) because it means higher yield for them.
However, greed and competition from rival OS have forced some of them to be more creative with their craft to get ahead.
Napoles and OS allegedly employ Agents or Contractors AC to do their bidding. AC’s are pretty, some “artista” wannabe’s or losers in “artista search” contests, some are jobless nurses, too. Others are graduates of exclusive Catholic girls’ schools, who use their looks and glib of tonque to entice these legislators to do business with them.
There are also some AC’s who operate independently and opt to be their own boss. This way, they are in nobody’s control and can do anything as they please, capitalizing on their skills and pocketing 100% of the profits. They drive flashy cars, wearing branded clothes and bags, and looking nothing but professional. AC’s are regular fixtures in the halls of Congress.
HOW THEY OPERATE
OS give workshops or seminars to their AC’s where they are taught and trained on the technical aspects of the trade, including personality development and makeover. They are taught how to use their charms to entice and flirt with LM’s, handling rejection, to be aggressive, daring, and shameless.
Once finished with the training, an AC is set out to work. But first, she will do a profiling of her target LM’s– if he is bachelor or married, 1st termer or re-elected, along with their contact numbers, and other pertinent details. AC’s are very busy during elections monitoring results and eyeing on potential winners. Once the winning candidates are set, AC’s will start contacting them to introduce themselves and their “business.”
“Senator JV Ejercito told the committee that during his stint in the House, “there are times there are a lot of beautiful ladies around (sic).”
“We called them ‘livelihood girls’ because they were peddling livelihood projects,” he said, indicating that the women were asking lawmakers if they could fund the projects with their PDAF for possible kickbacks for both the proponents and the lawmakers.” - PDI
First-time legislators are AC’s preferred targets – naïve, accommodating, easily swayed. Indeed, these girls are like vultures ready to devour their prey. Some are smart, English-speaking, celebrity-looking girls.
AC will frequent an LM’s office, bringing with her expensive gifts like Rolex watches, Hermes or LV stuff, vacation/plane tickets, GC’s – anything to bribe LM to win him over.
AC’s interest is mainly LM’s pork, but along the way, during the course of the transaction, her agenda is also to hint at sexual favors - regardless if LM is married or not. The more ambitious of them long for "affair" with LM. This way, a deeper relationship is formed and cemented - an accomplishment that can assure AC of future pork funding to her bogus NGO’s.
When that is not accomplished, AC stalks LM- texting, calling relentlessly to make follow-up. Wherever LM is, the calls never stop - in the gym, in a meeting, at a restaurant. Very often, AC treats LM out for lunch, dinner, and a lot more – till he says yes. Or AC will use her special relationship with another LM to get him to endorse her to fellow LM’s she is eyeing.
Important occasions are a must to give them gifts, too - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, Christmas, family milestones, whatever. AC won’t leave no stones unturned to obtain that precious yes from LM. Gifts must always impress – only the pricey stuff.
On their social media accounts, AC’s would post, “Done with Christmas shopping,” accompanied by pictures of the items/shopping bags from Rustan's, Birkins, LV, Rolex.
PORK BONANZA
During bidding, veteran AC’s allegedly control and call the shots, making it appear that they are “malakas” thereby intimidating the new AC’s that often result with them backing out from their bids. Essentially, it’s a really done deal.
When pork is released, AC or OS go to the projects’ so-called “beneficiaries” to take pictures with the people who will benefit in the alleged livelihood program or with pupils and teachers for a school feeding program. Everything is only for show just to have some hint of legitimacy.
The livelihood program would turn out to be a dud, while the school-feeding program would be a one-day feeding only.
For every NGO that got the LM’s pork, OS and AC stand to earn between Php200,000 to Php10Million.
No wonder that LM’s run after their pork that got awarded to an NGO even after their term had already expired believing that technically, the pork is theirs.
SYSTEMATIC LOOTING
Both LM and AC benefit tremendously from the deal: LM for kickbacks and sexual favors, AC for pork and perks. It is not surprising when AC requests LM for an 8-plate for her Explorer.
To be fair, not all LM’s succumb to the AC's modus operandi and carnal seduction. A handful of them is still decent and worthy of the position.
The AC’s permanent presence in the halls of Congress have alarmed some people. Aware of their agenda, the Congressional wives reportedly went to the higher-up to ask that these AC’s be banned from the premises. However, they were told that it could not be done because Congress is a public place.
PARTYLIST
Some partylist groups are also reportedly into the scam to recover election expenses, especially when they feel that they don’t stand a chance at getting re-elected. A partylist group once headed by a youth leader YL and now a government department head is one of these.
Any politically well-connected individual can aspire to profit from government funds. An Uncle UN of an ex-Celebrity-Politician CP capitalizing on CP’s top connections often dropped her name in his dealings, assuring the people he dealt with of 100% project completion once they signed up. When UN sensed that CP’s connection was about to crumble, he rushed some papers’ completion and have all the VIP signatures fixed, making sure that everything was set at the 11th hour. Soon after, CP was on her own, while UN was still smiling – a clear case of midnight deal, so to speak.
The Philippines is a rich country being made poor by the political thieves we repeatedly elect into office.
Corruption has reached mind-boggling proportions - the one big cause of extreme poverty in the country. If statistics are to be believed – almost 50% of our national budget goes to corruption. That’s nearly half of our P2.5Trillion 2014 budget – or close to P1Trillion that will finance the dizzying and obscene lifestyles of our Honorable Officials and their accomplices.
Do we still wonder why we are in this pit?
“Stand up. Be bold, be strong. All the strength and succor you want is within yourself. Therefore, you make your future.” ~ Swami Sivananda

Justice for Kae Davantes
Images courtesy of Fashion PULIS reader
Source: www.inquirer.net
This was at 1 a.m. on Saturday. Hours later, at 6 a.m., a resident found her body below the 20-foot-high Tibagan bridge in Barangay (village) Sabutan in Silang, Cavite province.
She had been strangled.
Now, investigators in Taguig City and Cavite are trying to piece together what happened during those five hours.
Police have made no arrests and, as of Monday afternoon, no one had been questioned.
Davantes was a senior account manager for the Manila branch of the MRM digital marketing agency under McCann Worldgroup Philippines. McCann holds office at Active Fun Building along 9th Avenue in BGC.
That was where Davantes checked out at exactly 9:36 p.m. after work on Friday, Taguig police’s deputy chief for operations, Supt. Celso Rodriguez, told the Inquirer.
She spent the next hours with friends and work mates in restaurants and bars at BGC, Rodriguez said. The night ended with three of Davantes’ friends seeing her off at the BGC East parking lot.
Last time
Driving a metallic beige Toyota Altis with Plate No. PIM 966, Davantes left the parking lot at exactly 1:07 a.m., according to police.
A sister told police that Davantes texted her, saying she was on her way to their home in Barangay Moonwalk, Las Piñas.
That was the last time any of her loved ones spoke with her.
At around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Davantes’ family and friends started looking for her at the BGC Police Community Precinct, Rodriguez said.
A desk officer told the Inquirer that the group asked the police to accompany them to the parking lot where Davantes was last seen.
Since she had been missing for less than 24 hours, the relatives deferred filing a missing person report. “They said they would look for her among her friends first,” Rodriguez said.
Stab wound
When her body was found under the bridge by the riverside in Silang, Davantes’ mouth was gagged with a handkerchief and her hands were tied with a car’s seatbelt, according to SPO1 Eric Ambojia of the Silang police station.
Investigators believed she was strangled with a piece of electric wire found on the scene.
She also bore a stab wound on her neck, police said. Her cell phone and other possessions were not recovered.
Rodriguez said there was no sign Davantes had been molested, her clothes being “intact.” Autopsy results, in fact, showed no signs of sexual assault.
More than one suspect
Rodriguez also said that the Cavite police had found an old, 6-inch kitchen knife near Davantes body, and that the handkerchief she was gagged with—white with blue stripes—was “branded.”
“Her family said it is not hers,” Rodriguez said.
“We believe she was abducted and killed elsewhere before the body was dumped (in Cavite). We are also looking at more than one suspect,” Ambojia said in a phone interview.
No security cameras
The Taguig police chief, Senior Supt. Arthur Asis, surmised Davantes’ abduction may not have happened at BGC.
“According to the guards at the parking lot, there was no commotion, nothing unusual when she drove out,” Asis said. There are no security cameras in the BGC open parking lots.
Rodriguez said the Taguig police were now reviewing security camera footage on at least four points along BGC roads where Davantes might have passed on her way home.
Theorizing that Davantes might have taken the C5 Road going to Las Piñas, Rodriguez said: “We really can’t tell at what point she was abducted or how it happened.”
Where’s the car?
Rodriguez also said the police were still looking for Davantes’ car, which remained missing. He said a search around BGC had yielded negative results. The car is registered to a Mercedes Ilano, according to police.
Rodriguez said the case was in the hands of the Cavite police: “We’ll help them with whatever information we can provide,” he said.
But something puzzles Rodriguez: “If it was a carnapping case, there seemed to be anger in the way she was killed. She was alone, a female, they could simply just have taken the car.”
Shock, sadness
The McCann Worldgroup Philippines, in a statement, expressed shock and sadness over the crime. Davantes had been working with the company since September 2011.
“We are one with the Davantes family in this time of grief and we will continue to offer them our full support,” the statement said. “We respect their request for privacy in this time of bereavement, as we await the complete and accurate details from the ongoing investigation.”
Family and friends have turned to social media, calling on authorities to find her killer.
Justice for Kae
On Monday, Davantes’ friends created Justice for Kae, a community page on Facebook, and asked netizens to share it with their own network of contacts.
“Families and friends, let’s all unite. We will not stop until we find justice … To our Kae, we love you so much,” the Facebook page read.
Davantes’ body was released to her family on Sunday, police said.
