Letter from a Reader: To the Prejudiced Readers of Fashion PULIS

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I am an online writer but honestly, I don't know where to start. I am quite surprised that I am sending you this letter because in all honesty, gossip has never been my kind of thrill. In my world, I have my fair share of criticisms from people---some I know and most I don't know at all. This is the reason why I strayed from reading gossip columns and stories. But one time, I stumbled upon your blog and I find myself engrossed.

I believe that you are the first Blogger who writes about gossips and do it in such a way that is not incriminating. You provide entertainment without sounding biased or prejudiced. At the end of your story, you leave it up to your readers to take a stand. The part I appreciate the most is that you never drop names, which is what journalism is supposed to be. Incredulous as it may seem to others, I do believe you uphold responsible journalism.

But FP, I am sending this letter because I want to share my opinion with my fellow FP readers who seem to have the prejudiced mindset so well. Every time you write a story, some of my fellow readers would often comment negatively and bash other readers (like me) who try to be as unbiased as possible.

Take for example the issue with Megastar. As I don't know the whole story, my instinct would be to dig deeper and look for details from my fellow readers' comments. What I've found are mostly negative comments on her "MAKING PATOL" to her fans which truly caught me off-guard.

I was saddened that most readers have this kind of mindset. I mean, how can we think negatively of her for replying to her bashers when apparently, she was insulted? How can we say she's lowly and has no class when she's only fighting her attackers? Pardon me, but don't we just sound like Adolf Hitler? Tayo---mga non-celebrities, non-showbiz, unknown audience, mga readers, MAY KARAPATAN TAYO NA PAGSALITAAN SIYA NG HINDI MABUTI PERO HINDI NIYA PWEDENG GAWIN SA ATIN YUN? We can talk ill about her, but she doesn't have a right to do so because she's a celebrity, an actress and the wife of a senator?

From the day we were born, weren't we taught by our parents to observe fairness and equality, that all humans are equal in the eyes of God? I am not a religious person but after reading all these comments, it makes me think that perhaps, we are trying to play God because for most of us who are readers of your blog, we tend to think that it's okay to speak our minds about the subject of your blind items but these subjects aren't allowed to react to what we have to say.

Hindi ba, mas una sa pagiging celebrity, artista, politician, ay ang pagiging TAO NILA KAGAYA NATIN? Like us, they are humans who have the right to speak their minds and fight back if needed. Honestly, this is not just about Megastar, my fellow readers may think binayaran niya ako para magsulat nito but I don't care. Noon, ang paniniwala ay mas may karapatan ang mga kalalakihan kesa sa kababaihan. Until now, we still live on that but this time, ang paniniwala natin ay mas may karapatan ang mga fans kesa sa mga celebrity or artista. Sandali lang, porke ba't sikat sila, pag-aari na natin sila? May karapatan ba tayong diktahan o pagbawalan sila na gawin ang gusto nila?

I just hope that we can have an unbiased point of view. After all, not everything we hear is right so it pays to know both sides of the story. So please, let's start listening. Yes, we may hear it but we may not have listened. Listening only comes with understanding so sana, maging unbiased tayo at bigyan sila ng karapatan na ikwento ang istorya nila.

I'm sorry for the long letter but if you took time to read this, thank you for hearing me. I just hope that in the end, you actually listened.

The Gracious Nocturnal Visitor

Ever since these siblings broke into media, their careers have been hounded by controversy. Both are good-looking, and have the bodies that can be confidently flaunted. While their athletic careers hung on uncertainty, they got into modelling for the time being. They are also known for hanging out with society's rich and famous (social climbers included).

Although the siblings seem to be very private with their affairs, they were thrown in the limelight partly because of their friendship with a controversial media personality (MP). Despite the age gap, they struck a friendship. The friendship must be very deep. A few weeks ago, MP was spotted in the area where the siblings live, and later, MP allegedly proceeded to their pad at two in the morning. Yes, 2:00 am! For those who are not familiar with the topic, I am giving you this little piece of information aka backgrounder so that you will be able to fathom this story I am about to share with you today.

For the last few decades, gay relationships in the country have been more open and prominent amongst all social class than ever before. In showbiz and entertainment community, the practice is widely accepted maybe and partly because the industry is mostly dominated and ran by people of the 3rd 'gender' - top honchos, directors, producers, designers, talent managers, dancers, and the list goes on.

This talent manager TM has a number of desirable male stars under his stable. Gay as he is, it is natural that TM gets attracted to whoever catches his fancy. In this case, he got attracted to his own star, a talented Young Heartthrob YH. Whether or not he likes or accepts it, YH is a consenting adult towards TM's advances.

In one of their trysts, TM was the top one and YH was bottom. TM's size must have been too overwhelming for YH's bottom that it bled from TM's penetration. The bleeding sent jitters to TM and YH. Both were alarmed that TM called a doctor for treatment. YH spent considerable amount of time to get healed.

YH's father was so outraged when he learned what happened. He confronted TM, but both he and YH denied everything. But to be safe, and to keep the father from doing anything that can ruin his name, TM allegedly decided to do what was wisest at that point: silence him through a sizable settlement.

Letter from a Reader: Designer in Delusion

Dear Fashion PULIS,

Hello FP! I am a follower of your blog. Apart from the regular blind items, I am also glad that you have this avenue wherein readers can send in and air their gripes about various concerns. I am now writing to you about the malpractices of this particular designer.

In this day and age when the power of technology like the internet gives everyone access to all information imaginable, there are still people who have the guts to make false claims including professionals who represent and/or misrepresent themselves for the purpose of scheming and manipulating people.

Case in point is Questionable Designer QD. On google search and wikipedia, here are some of QD's claims:

"Filipino-American QD is New York-based designer and consultant for global organizations."

1) Filipino American? New York-based? When he only studied for a year in New York. When I attended one of his events, he gave me a business card. I called his New York office, everything was a FAKE, as in no such number. And that 'Designers ----- ' written on his card, I went to the website, found out he just created it -- for "praise release" that is.

"After years of entrepreneurial work in Fashion and Style, QD trained with the Language and Communications ----"

2) He did not train, he was a mere volunteer associate intern. He worked for, NOT trained.

"QD is currently an International Consultant for Branding and Design at the -----"

3) ---- does not need a consultant for branding and design. It gives out money and funds they don't need to promote themselves. We verified this and this position and post title is non-existent. This is not true. HE IS NOT AN INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANT FOR BRANDING AND DESIGN.

"He also heads the Designers for ----- New York, a group of designers from around the world designing for worldwide organizations and development agencies."

4) Again, this is non-existent, just a product of his imagination.

All this while heading **, his design agency in Manila.

5) I checked this out with the BIR - Bureau of Internal Revenue and SEC - Securities and Exchange Commission - this is not a registered entity.

6) Try to inquire about a pair of shoes, he will not be able to show you anything because what he has posted on his website is just that -- samples. Some of them are just in 3d rendering only.

7) His caskets and urns are also non-existent. There maybe be less than four caskets ever made. He had some tv interviews inside a casket factory but he just used these sub-contractors for his own publicity. Not one funeral house ever got interested in his designs.

8) Presently since he is looking for money, he is selling the shoes that are left-overs from his previous "samples." That's why if you ask, he will say "walang size," then he will sell it for Php30,000. Gross!

9) Now he has a tv show on design. He is posting cheap AD DEALS on facebook for his show. OFWs can make "pa-bati" for as low as 40 USD! Lol

10) He initiated this top Filipino exhibit supposedly featuring Lea Salonga, Manny Pacquiao, Charice Pempengco. Then all of a sudden, names like some nobodies surfaced. He included some nobodies so that they will be in his network, since some were also designers. At the event itself, only those nobodies showed up. Lea Salonga and company were clueless.

11) If he is so successful in his design career, why would he always post status on facebook looking for a free ride? "I need a ride from Makati to Katipunan 4pm-ish, anyone?" And does he have friends at all? "Going for a jogging in Ateneo, any companion available?"

On a tour ride somewhere north, he would borrow money to buy small "pasalubongs" but would never pay. Cheap!

Also, when he returned from New York, he said he would only stay here for six months, yet he never left Manila since.

FP, I am sending this as we were a victim of QD's unprofessionalism: a major project that got delayed and eventually scrapped due to his negligence and incompetence.

We hope that this will also help remind people not to be too naive and trusting towards other people they hardly know (something which I was guilty of). Do background check, internet is big help. If in doubt, don't do it. Thank you very much, FP for publishing my letter.

In a nutshell: AS met BM, got into a relationship, broke up. AS got married. BM and media personality MP hooked up later. AS became single again. Renewed ties with BM. BM was caught between AS and MP.

Guess who won! Photos show AS and BM are often together.
Love must have been lovelier the second time around. AS is now so into BM. MP left the picture.

BM was generous with his gifts to AS. He gave her vacation packages, among others. In these photos, they were with several friends. Towards the last days of vacation, AS begged off from her friends to spend more time with BM, who was bound to leave the next day. Has AS found her one and true love in the elusive BM? If this is so, then nothing should stop AS from achieving real happiness.

Did former network insider (FN) score a huge payout from a talent search? While serving as a consultant for the network, FN was also serving as the network's consultant in the talent search. Is the cash register ringing now? She allegedly charged every enrollee in her school a whopping fourth of a million each. Imagine if there were around ten students coming from the talent search, then the cash register would really be ringing happily! FN allegedly justified her tuition fees because her showbiz reputation as an influential mover and star maker was her investment in that school. Hence, anyone who gets training from her school is assured of the star treatment that probably made ​​her discoveries become household names.

Well, there are two ways of looking at this. First, people perceive FN might be corrupt, but her actions in the above situations might not fall under its definition. Second, FN can be looked upon as someone intelligent enough to know how much she is worth for the station. If the station paid her on her own terms, then much rests on her shoulders to build the careers of the winners of the said talent search. Now that the search is over, some quarters are unsatisfied pinpointing to her as allegedly favoring the winner, but that's another story.

A Consoling and Moving Tribute

Award-winning actor (AA) owes his success to a number of excellent directors who helped hone his craft. AA had the right attitude ever since: commitment, discipline, sensitivity. He started as a stuntman,  starred in various B movies in the beginning. He also played major roles as action star in several action movies and a brief television career playing the lead role in the sitcom opposite a versatile actress. Apart from acting, AA also embarked on a singing career.

His career milestone happened when he played a significant role in a historical movie that garnered major awards in many award-giving bodies. The film is unprecedented in its relevance up to the present day. It paved the way for his many acting awards later in a number of classic Filipino movies.

One of those whom AA owes much of his success to was the well-respected lady director LD who megged him in some of these unforgettable movies. LD molded and brought out the thespian in him. AA got inspired by LD, learned the ropes from her and soon got into directing himself. AA was always vocal about LD being his mentor, and both have mutual respect for each other.

Sadly, LD had to semi-retire from work due to health reasons that got worsened over the years.
During her last moments, the closest family friends came over, and they knew the inevitable was just minutes away. Most could not contain their emotions and were crying, while others kept a silent vigil. AA, on the verge of losing a very dear friend, could not show his grief. Instead of crying, he did his own tribute to LD as a respect to her dying wish. While the priest was administering the rites, AA started to sing some worship songs. He got so carried away by his singing that went on for a time.

In his own way, AA made sure that LD left the world with all those songs in her heart.

Cocky Behavior of the Drama Actor

Actors need to stay fit and work on their bodies to be confident of their overall fitness and to show off that much-coveted abs. A drama actor (DA) enrolled in a gym near his place of work. The gym keeps a low profile and its clientele are non-showbiz people, who are mostly businessmen. All gyms have its rules that clients are expected to follow. However, DA wants to be different. Although the staff expects DA to be at least pleasing in demeanor, but sadly it isn't so. Whenever he comes to the gym, which is about two or three times a week, he keeps to himself and doesn't talk to anyone, not even to exchange pleasantries. For some reason, he also refuses to use the locker room facilities. One day, DA wanted to bring his driver inside the gym. He was denied but he insisted. Thus DA was reprimanded that the gym was for members only and that his driver had to wait at the waiting area.

What the staff could not figure out is why DA is the way he is. There is just something in him that spells arrogance. His overbearing in attitude just sucks. They could not help but compare him with the other actor (OA) who is also a client. OA is charming and definitely a lot friendlier than DA by a mile. And to top it all, OA is the bigger star than DA, also by a mile. Both OA and DA work in the same network where OA is highly prized.

Has success gotten into DA's head that he thinks he can always get away behaving in such a cocky manner? Well, good for him that he is now working out to get in shape again. Wasn't it just a few months ago when a photograph of him came out, flabs and all, that people thought he was going to ruin himself in a big fashion event?

Fame in showbiz comes with a high price. Family, friends, and affiliation sometimes have to be sacrificed. Managers would want their talents to assume a certain identity in exchange for an image that will sell and the public will adore. The few who adhere to these demands succeed, while there are others, who despite giving up everything, still miserably fail. Some young actors have to deny their gay benefactors, or stay closeted. Some actresses have to hide their lovers or deny a love child.

The most tragic price for success in showbiz is perhaps to deny one’s own family. Sadly, this talented actor (TA) has to give in and bite this bitter pill. Some people know that TA had a child with a partner before he hit stardom. He had to make a choice and the rest is history. His network transformed him into what he is now - one of today's hottest.

TA and partner try very hard to be private about their relationship. There were talks that went around that part of the contract of TA was for him to remain unattached. Recently, a story came out that it was over for TA and the mother of his child. The partner kept quiet about the issue and let it take its course. She’s become more focused and conscious of the fact that every sacrifice will be for the welfare and future of her child.

However, all might not be lost. TA and partner were spotted holding hands in a more secluded mall east of the city. They were sweet and even held hands while they were on the escalator. Probably attempting to remain incognito, TA was wearing a cap with head a little bowed and his partner was wearing bug shades. Some of those who saw them recognized TA. Does this appearance belie the separation rumour?

Now, if TA were to keep this relationship and continue to be seen in public with his partner, will his management get in the way? TA should know that his newfound status can plunge as quickly as it zoomed.

The Sideline of the Former Heartthrob

Former teenage heartthrob (FTH) has an interesting sideline. According to a reliable source, FTH is engaged in the booking business. No, he does not place bets on races or something similar. In bekimon, FTH is “pabooking,” which means engaging in certain bedroom activities with anyone who can pay his asking price. Furthermore, his asking price is negotiable: allegedly between Php 20 to 25k per session.

It’s such a pity that FTH is allegedly involved in this business. When he was starting out, he easily stood out because he had the looks and the talent in acting. His entry was promising because the young actors at that time lacked the acting intensity needed to be convincing. FTH even got the interest of a major movie network, who gave him his launching movie. Sadly, the movie did not do well at the box office.

Nonetheless, FTH had several projects on tv, but all these opportunities became scarce as stories about his unprofessionalism spread around. Stories even floated that he was allegedly into illegal substances, which he denied. To make it worse, FTH got involved with a married woman. Rather than earn the ire of the husband, FTH went abroad upon the advice of his parents. And add to that, his frequent sightings at the casino. Indeed, all the ingredients to self-destruct. What a waste for a truly talented person.

A few years later, FTH made his comeback via an indie film where he shared the starring role with an emerging talent at that time. The movie was acclaimed but networks and producers were wary of hiring FTH. Since he came back, FTH is still covered by the press occasionally; however, he is not visible on the screen these days.

Product endorsers can have a huge impact on one's business. A respected celebrity can add both credibility and value to a product, and paves the way for instant recall even to an unknown or untried brand. An endorser is thus expected to send a message to the public that she/he is indeed a believer and user of the product being endorsed.

Actress Endorser AE and her manager HM were at the press launch of her latest endorsement -- a new perfume brand PB. The endorsement made AE several million pesos richer in talent fee, among other perks that came with it. When talent and manager arrived at the venue, there were the usual exchange of pleasanties with everybody present.

When the PB company's Vice President VP arrived, as a show of courtesy, AE approached him and extended a handshake before she did the customary "beso-beso." Suddenly, the VP stopped and paused for a few seconds. Being the company top gun, he knew and smelled AE's perfume which was not PB that they were launching which AE was paid to promote and endorse.

VP was visibly annoyed -- to him that was a spectacular oversight. VP called HM and chided him for his negligence over AE's blunder. HM was so embarrassed and apologized profusely. Immediately, HM went back to the table he shared with AE and some company executives. Very quietly and discreetly, he told her what the VP told him and scolded her for not wearing the company's perfume on its launching day at that. AE who is not known to be mindful of etiquette, quickly retorted, in full earshot of the company executives seated on the table, " Eh kasi naman Momsy, ayaw ni **** (name of her bf) na gamitin ko yung pabango kasi amoy p*kp*k daw. Mag-aamoy p*kp*k daw ako pag ginamit ko!"

Letter from a Reader: What You See Is Not Always What You Get

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I am a Kapamilya fan and also an avid reader of Fashion PULIS. I would like to share with you some sidelights/tidbits about the ASAP stars when they had the ASAP show here in Singapore recently.

The ASAP stars were all around SG for 2 days and since there are many Pinoys here including the OFW's, many fans easily recognized them. My friend and I were at Suntec when we saw Bamboo having coffee at Coffee Bean. Of course we were starstruck but too shy to approach. We followed him when he stood up and walked towards the Conrad Hotel. Then we were so surprised to see most of ASAP stars scattered at the hotel lobby. Since it is a hotel, we were really too shy to approach them to take pictures, so we just stood there and gawked.

Almost all of them were going in and out of the hotel lobby except for one, Piolo Pascual who was the only one sitting at a couch and smiling at us. It was such a friendly smile as if he was inviting us to approach him, but oh, we really didn't have that much guts to even go near him, what a loss! I don't know, but we felt awkward to be running after stars inside the hotel. My friend and I were probably the only fans there.

During the actual show itself, Piolo was "super bait," with such genuine kindness. Yes, we also saw several stars walking along the lobby and we said 'Hi' to them and they waved and said Hi back to us. However there were also a few who were quite a big disappointment, and kind of turned us off completely.

We saw a Teleserye hunk Actor TA getting off from the lift and walking with his head bowed all the time while holding a cap to cover his face. It was actually funny and OA of him to do that because there were just my friend and I whom you can call as Pinoy fans who were there at that time. As in there was no one who would haunt him for photos and ask for autograph. Thus, TA's fears to be hounded by unruly and screaming fans was clearly unfounded. Our impression was that TA was really a complete snub.

Another turn-off was a VJ/host VJH. She walked infront of us so my friend said, "Hi VJH!" Yes, she mentioned VJH's name. But we were so surprised by her reaction. VJH just glared at us, very coldly, "sabay irap!" We were shocked and it took a while before we recovered from that. Just goes to show that what we see in front of the camera is really different from what some of them show in public, especially with VJH. Until now, I still can't forget how stiff her face was. Oh well, maybe she wasn't in the mood, or just so wrong of us to expect a 'hi' from her or even a smile, just like the rest of the stars we met like Shaina, Kim, Maja, Piolo, Bamboo, Khalil, Daniel, Enchong etc.

By the way, most of our"kababayans" who went to see the ASAP show were quite disappointed with Very Popular teleserye Actor VPA as well. He was so cold with the fans, he was smiling but so uncomfortable or shy maybe? He wasn't charming like most of his colleagues, some fans branded him as "suplado." Could it be that he was still "living" his role in the soap that just ended?

Well, this just it, FP - I'm just venting out maybe, and at the same time showing big appreciation to some stars who know how to acknowledge their fans whether in or out of the Philippines.

The Cranky Sleep-Deprived Actor

When the young character actor (YCA) entered showbiz, much was expected from him because he belongs to one of the so-called royal families of the industry. His grandparents, parents, and other relatives achieved a certain celebrity status in their heydays. Hence, YCA showed he could sing and act. His performances were praised by critics and his sensitivity as an actor in versatile roles was acclaimed. Then, he had to play musical chairs and moved networks.

Now, comes the rumor that YCA was allegedly axed from a series where he was supposed to play lead. Of course, this move was downplayed as the reason seems unclear and will create an issue that will require an endless stream of questions and explanations. According to the grapevine, YCA has certain idiosyncrasies that the production people noticed only because his behavior has been affecting the telerserye's tapings.

While taping inside a sacred place, YCA just decided to make one of the pews his bed. There’s nothing wrong with catching some snooze when you’re not yet on call. However, YCA stayed on the pew and dozed off when a scene was being taped within the area. Then, it was the turn of YCA for his scene. The staff tried to wake him up but YCA responded grumpily and said he did not want to be disturbed because he was sleeping. Hence, the female co-star with whom YCA was supposed to have the scene with was so irritated because he was so unprofessional. Tapings usually have a schedule and any delay will mean additional constraints on the budget and nerves of the production people.

YCA seemed to be so deprived of sleep. Sadly, YCA could not escape the conclusions of some witnesses that the reason why he was so sleepy was that he might have allegedly taken something that altered his sleeping pattern. Whatever it was that made YCA behave that way was too costly for his career and reputation.

The Unexpected Tragedy of the Fashion Icon Wannabe

As soon as he established his career through the backing of a big network, and millions of box office receipts, fashion icon wannabee (FIW) began showing his true colors. The production complained of his attitude towards work. The kibitzers taunted him with his love life. The fans continued to buy his sense of humor. Meanwhile, old friends whom he has dropped merely kept quiet about FIW’s character. However, another perception is that FIW was just showing who he really is, or in other words, he just did not want to have pretensions regardless of who gets hurt in the process.

In a movie event, FIW suffered an embarrassing incident that would certainly make anyone lose poise. As a friend of one of the lead stars in a movie, FIW romped on the red carpet in a gown (remember, he is a fashion icon wannabe, hence, he has to always be dressed to the nines.). Inside the theatre, the host called FIW to go onstage to say a few words to the cast of the movie. After delivering his message, FIW went down the stage. The fans crowded around him as he was making his way out, and one fan stepped on the tail end of his gown. In a few seconds, the gown ripped off. FIW glared at his fans but tried to keep his composure while holding on to the gown to make sure it would not fall off. When he got backstage, he was fuming mad and cursing, something which was no longer surprising.

Does anyone know who designed his gown? Why did it rip so easily? Will FIW dress up in a similar gown again? Your guess is as good as mine.

Why Did She Walk Out?

At a recent fashion event, a clothing brand had three celebrity-models who led the line-up of models who walked the runway. One pretty star PS from a network and two popular actor-hunks AH1 and AH2 who both belong to another network modeled the brand's collections on the ramp. But the real scene that day happened behind the runway.

At the press conference, media people MP requested the conference organizers to present the three celebrity-models one-by-one so that each would have each own moment to shine. However, the organizers would have none of it and chose to present the three celebrity models at the conference all at the same time. What happened was chaos as the two hunks were like honey attracting the bees. MP's attention towards AH1 and AH2 was so overwhelming, as they peppered the two hunks with questions, unwittingly forgetting that PS was also there sitting like a flower girl waiting for ages for her turn to be asked.

PS was already feeling the heat of her awkward situation. She felt even more enraged when she saw a MP from her very own network who instead of siding with her, also ignored her and was even among the bunch of MP's going gaga over AH1 and AH2. That was the last straw, so to speak, poor PS left the conference without a word. When the organizer asked her to go back for a round of interviews, PS stood her ground and ignored them all.

Poll: What are Your Thoughts on this Open Letter

Dear Philippine Fashion,

Just as any formal letter would go, we’d start by asking how are you? Over the past seasons we’ve seen you grow leaps and bounds. Look around and you will see a relatively thriving industry. And look at you, making waves across international shores. With this much attention I am sure we are all encouraged to step up our game to play with the big leagues abroad. Because you know what? We totally can.

Right about now everyone is talking about the 2013 Spring/Summer edition of Philippine Fashion Week. Spirits and anticipation are at a high. What will we see this season? Last season we took the liberty of listing basic fashion etiquette guests should keep in mind when watching the shows. This time we take to the opposite end and list down what we are tired of seeing go down the runway.

1.) Peplums. This may be a marginalized peeve but let’s move on from that trend. It was fresh at least three seasons ago but now it is just exhausting to look at. We’ve seen peplums in different variations and I think it is about time to give it a rest. There are other ways to go about accentuating the waist area, I’m sure.

Special mention goes to the other runway favorite, the mullet skirt. Enough said.

2.) Remember when seasoned models were falling one by one on the catwalk? Yes, that one. While we are glad that designers are thinking of an entire look by having shoes made specifically for their shows. But please, test run those pairs first before sending them out. The models may be a pro at walking in sky-high heels but you never know what will go down (pun intended) the runway. Accidents happen and falling flat on the floor is not pretty. Don’t just make shoes just for the sake of. Function over form. As visually interesting (or editorial) as they may be, it must be carefully engineered to walk in real life. Oh and can we also step away from the heel-less shoes? Their statement has run out, I’m afraid.

3.) We know it’s your heart and soul walking out one ensemble at a time but by now we are all aware that your fashion shouldn’t be indulgent. Garments still have to sell at the end of the day. You want the guests to want your pieces. An over embellished, over designed, I-can-barely-move-or-sit dress is just that, indulgent. Strike that balance between designing for ones self and designing with a woman (or man) in mind. You’ll thank us later.

4.) I believe we’ve seen one too many a season of Project Runway to know that it gets crazy leading up to the show. Incidental problems will arise for sure. This however doesn’t give you the excuse to send down garments with unfinished hems or threads sticking out and catching wind. You wouldn’t want people in the first few rows to want to grab a pair of scissors and snip at the raw edges. You’ve all been given time to complete your collection, we hope you used the time wisely.

5.) Again, you wouldn’t want your guests to cringe at ill-fitting ensembles sashay on the runway. Fit is of utmost importance. You want to show everyone that your clothes can be made for them not I will make one in a generic size and hope it fits you.

6.) Originality is relative. However, I’m sure we understand how the Internet works right? Everyone is informed. You are without a doubt highly creative. Reference thoughtfully and come up with something brilliant as compared to being “totally inspired” by an existing collection from foreign shores. And don’t belittle your audience, some know their fashion and can pinpoint even the most obscure reference. Be very careful.

Other than those mentioned, you’re good to go. We don’t have control over what you ultimately did to your collection. We can only hope for stellar work. It’s your time to shine and with the current trajectory in mind a good chunk of you will hopefully not let us down. We are most definitely looking forward to seeing amazing fashion go down the runway. As Tim Gunn would always say, go out there and knock our socks off. It sure is an exciting time for Philippine fashion and boy are we glad to witness it.

Her Ritual, Her Highness

Sexy Actress SA already had several relationships before her current one. Rumors back then were ripe that SA found it difficult to sustain long term relationships. Former boyfriends used to complain about her attitude, that of being a spoiled brat and very controlling of all her relationships. Even with her own family, SA seems to be always having issues.

There were talks that early on in her life, SA had never been happy and content in everything about herself. She was always looking for something. She was often envious of other people, and once she couldn't get what she wanted, there went the big attitude problem.

But no one knew that such attitude would escalate into something bigger than itself. SA had a relationship with RE (rich entrepreneur) who was the son of the owner of a certain retail store. RE said he could not understand why everytime they would go intimate, SA could not function without having a hit.

In the beginning, RE tolerated it just so SA wouldn't fight with him. But there came a time that he couldn't take her habit anymore. That was just too much and he confronted her. Luckily or unluckily for him, SA didn't take it sitting down, she was enraged. RE thought that since he couldn't take the bull by the horn, he had to do what was best -- dump her!
