Ces Drilon Makes Acting Debut in Love Team, Boys’ Lockdown Spin-off

The much anticipated teaser video for Love Team: Beyond Boys’ Lockdown, a spin-off of the 2020 hit boys’ Love series Boys’ Lockdown, dropped yesterday enthralling viewers as stars Ali King and Alec Kevin return as fictional versions of themselves as they live out a stranger than fiction scenario of developing “real” feelings while shooting on the set of their show.

Award-winning news anchor and lifestyle purveyor Ces Oreña-Drilon joins the cast as the mother of Ali, a strong and independent woman with great maternal instincts. On playing the part, Drilon shares, “I am thrilled and excited. Like I said before, now is the time to explore new things and do things outside one’s comfort zone.”

As a celebrity and SOGIE Equality Bill advocate herself, Drilon who plays a significant role in the show adds, “I think it’s about time. It's time to tell the story of the LGBTQIA+ and their own unique love stories.”

The Love Team teaser video premiere also marked the start of the series’ Kickstarter fundraising campaign (https://bit.ly/LOVETEAMKickstarter), a first in the history of the boys’ love series genre in the Philippines. The show producers are counting on the global fan support received by Season One to help reach the overall production budget. The crowdfunding campaign that will run up until January 27, 2022. Donors will enjoy perks such as executive producer and associate producer credits, personalized video greetings, and more. 

Produced by Ticket2Me, Bit by Bit Company, and 2TinCans PH, Love Team takes on a meta approach as it picks up and tells a parallel story where Boys’ Lockdown left off in Season 1. Apart from Drilon, the series will also feature the cast from the original season: Ali King, Alec Kevin, Kaloy Tingcungco, and Teetin Villanueva, as well as new cast members playing new characters. 

The upcoming season will still have the same creative team helmed by Director Jade Castro,  Writer and Creator Danice Mae P. Sison, and Executive Producer Darwin Mariano.

Often, talents take non-celebrities for granted and forget that behind the scenes people are more observant and knowledgeable on celebrity behavior when the camera is away. Thus, mindfulness has to be exercised, as talents might unknowingly become a secret code or the butt of jokes like a promising cast member.

Pretty Talent (PT) has become the topic among the staff of a network. PT has acted in several projects and one time, A Staff (AS) noticed something peculiar whenever PT returned the clothes she had worn in scenes. AS ensures that the wardrobe is tidy and orderly in case the clothes need to be worn again. While fixing the clothes, a smell emanated from the ones used by PT. AS was puzzled as PT does not reek of any smell when near the staff. However, when the skin touches clothes, the effect can be disastrous, especially if body hygiene was not strictly practiced.

Unfortunately, AS was not the only one who observed it. Hence, they have a joke on finding out if a piece of garment had been worn by PT. All they have to do is to smell the armpit area. If the smell is odd, then that garment has been worn.

Love Over Career

Was he distracted? That question was pondered upon when Promising Talent (PT) failed miserably during a rehearsal for a project. PT and Female Contemporary (FC) were cast together as part of their break in the industry. PT and FC are being built to have a career together and the project was the perfect vehicle.

PT, who is not a newbie when it comes to acting, seemed distracted, as he could not get the right emotion required for the scene. The production was delayed due to his inability to let out the apt emotions needed in front of the camera. As the cause of delay, PT tested the patience of the team and resulted in him being screamed at. Subsequently, PT walked out and never returned.

A few days later, PT apologized for his immature action and said his anxiety was triggered. After all, the production team comprised the best in the industry and perfection was demanded. A known fact is that acting is not for the faint-hearted and sensitive, as some directors do not to mince their words nor speak in low tones at someone showing lame acting. PT could have been intimidated. Thus, he said he was too afraid already.

While the excuse seemed acceptable, as mental health is a prime consideration, the grapevine had another theory. Allegedly, PT is seeing Another Talent (AT). PT feels that AT might be jealous when she sees him with FC. To avoid that scenario, PT might have intentionally played being distracted and citing anxiety so he would be removed. Perhaps, love is more powerful than one’s career for PT.

Gong Yoo‘s agency Management SOOP has promptly denied the sudden rumors involving the actor and American pop star, Taylor Swift.

On November 26, Gong Yoo’s label shared on their official website that the actor’s ongoing “dating rumors with Taylor Swift are groundless. They are just rumors.” The agency also revealed in their official statement that the actor “has not travelled internationally recently” due to his busy schedule with his upcoming series, The Silent Sea—further squashing the baseless rumors.

Management SOOP’s response came less than 24 hours following the sudden dating rumors involving Gong Yoo and Taylor Swift. It all began when DeuxMoi, a New York based anonymous gossip account, posted a photo with a tip that alleged that Taylor Swift grabbed lunch with Descendants of the Sun actor, Jin Goo. However, the error was later “corrected,” as DeuxMoi shared it was actually Gong Yoo that Taylor Swift supposedly dined with.

And while the original rumors began as a potential project collaboration between the two, it quickly turned into abrupt dating rumors due to the alleged “coziness” between Gong Yoo and Taylor Swift—despite the singer’s ongoing 5 year relationship with actor, Joe Alwyn.

As the rumors took over the internet like wildfire, Taylor Swift’s current relationship status didn’t seem to matter to different media sites. Dozens of headlines began to pop up online regarding Gong Yoo’s alleged “lunch date” with the American singer.

What originally began as a potential collaboration rumor between Gong Yoo and Taylor Swift abruptly turned into a gossip tornado that spiraled out of control—and all it took was one photo by DeuxMoi.

And Management SOOP was absolutely done with it all. Not only were the dating rumors squashed, but it looks like a potential Gong Yoo feature in a Taylor Swift music video is also not happening. After wreaking absolute havoc online, the anonymous netizen responsible for the DeuxMoi tip has a whole lot of explaining to do.

In related news, Gong Yoo’s upcoming series The Silent Sea is set to make its grand premiere on Netflix, creating excitement in the K-Drama sphere. The series has a star studded cast, including Bae Doo Na, Lee Joon, Squid Game‘s Heo Sung Tae, and more. The highly anticipated sci-fi thriller will mark the Gong Yoo’s first small screen return since his 2016 work, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, adding onto the overall anticipation for the K-Drama.

A surprising, but not shocking, rumor that is only quietly moving around is the alleged interesting stage of a Well-liked Actress (WA). WA has a solid career record that shows how much hard work pays off. WA has been in the industry for many years and has struggled to gain her reputation as a competent, trustworthy talent. Her management entrusted to her several projects that impressed and awed audiences. Hence, fans are often satisfied that WA can meet their high expectations.

The rumor did not start locally, as WA and Her Man (HM) have been keeping a low profile to ensure privacy for their relationship. Both have learned from mistakes resulting from making relationships public. Therefore, they no longer want to make activities they do together within the sight of their fans. Once in a while, a post crops up as proof that they are going strong.

WA and HM have long ended their relationships prior to committing to each other. No one can accuse them of being third parties and ruining relationships. The two were single when they met and hit it off. If WA were indeed carrying their lovechild, only time can tell. These days when actresses are pregnant, they prefer to hide the good news, and others even deny their condition until someone comes up with proof.

Finally, the grapevine is in jubilee as Female Celebrity (FC) seems to have found the man who is making her heart happy. Over the years, the public has watched the triumphs and letdowns of her heart. FC’s choices have made her fans curious. Unlike other actresses, FC had much public support when it came to matters of her heart.  

Allegedly, Accomplished Actor (AA) is the source of FC’s happiness. Like FC, AA has been followed by the public in most of his activities. Having grown up in front of the limelight, his life has been an open book. He has his own share of intrigues and accomplishments. Moreover, AA has an appeal to women, which could explain why he has had a number of relationships.

AA and FC belong to the same circle and work has been suspected of bringing them close to each other. As to why the two have neither denied nor confirmed their relationship directly remains a mystery. Nonetheless, followers have noticed that FC seems to be extra happy these days. Incidentally, FC could also be in such a joyful state as AA has her family’s approval. Such support could be the reason why social media has been quiet on the two of them being linked to each other.

Celebrities have various, diverse stories of how they started in the entertainment industry. Others are products of talent searches, whereby they spent hours in line waiting for the few minutes to audition for a slot. Others made the head of a talent scout turn for that second look and subsequent asking if one were interested to join the industry. Others have their fate in the stars as their entry into the industry has been expected as they are children of showbiz players.

Regardless of how a talent was discovered, the hard part is to make that talent popular and fit the ideal image that would garner fans. A background check is important as certain life events might make a difference between fame and failure. Issues can be detrimental, but the way a management handles these dark aspects can lead to the success or failure of their talent. Thus, monitoring of issues hurled at a talent is done and followed by damage control if needed.

A buzz in the grapevine questions the background of Voluptuous Actress (VA). VA has showbiz connections, which made her entry easier compared to her contemporaries. Allegedly VA shares a similar past with many celebrities. Initially, rumors of the same nature are denied, but the passing of time would dis/prove the truth. VA, according to rumors, is already a mother. As not much is known about VA prior to her making a name, except for basic personal information, the motherhood rumor is making its way among fans. Will VA take the similar route as previous female talents did, that is, to deflect answering the rumor? However, time has changed the way fans look at issues and they are more accepting if the truth is out rather than hidden in the dark.
