The 2019 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival closed on Sunday, August 11, with the annual awards night held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
The movie John Denver Trending won as Best Picture for the full-length category.
Jansen Magpusao won Best Actor for the movie John Denver Trending while Ruby Ruiz won the Best Actress award for the movie Iska.
Ricky Davao won the Best Supporting Actor for F#*@BOIS, while Ella Cruz won Best Supportig Actress for Edward.

It’s only been eight months since Miley Cyrusmarried Liam Hemsworth , 29, in a romantic ceremony at their Tennessee home. Now it’s over between the couple, who dated on and off for ten years. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Miley tells PEOPLE in a statement. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Miley was recently seen on vacation in Italy with Brody Jenner‘s ex Kaitlynn Carter, 30, and they were spotted putting on a PDA show kissing and cuddling while relaxing poolside in Lake Como on Aug. 9. The 26-year-old singer has admitted to being pansexual and had a previous relationship with model Stella Maxwell in 2015 before getting back together with Liam over the holidays of that same year. She also told Elle in their August issue that “I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women.”
Miley and Liam first met and fell in love on the set of 2010’s The Last Song. The couple became engaged in June of 2012 and she said at the time, “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.” The couple split up in September of 2013 as Miley entered her wild child Bangerz days. She went on to date Patrick Schwarzenegger, 25, then Stella, 29, but found her way back to Liam at the end of 2015. They reconnected in a big way, as she began wearing her engagement ring in early 2016.
The couple later moved in together at a home in Malibu, where they lived a relaxed life with a menagerie of animals. She even devoted several songs on her album of the same name about her sweetie. Sadly their sanctuary burned to the ground during the Nov. 2018 Malibu wildfires. After that she called Liam her “Survival Partner” as he helped rescue all their animals to safety. On Dec. 24, the couple married in an intimate ceremony at her Nashville home. There had not been any apparent signs of trouble in the relationship, though his appearances on her Instagram which were once constant became few and far between as the summer progressed. The last time she posted about him was on June 2, and it was just a black and white photo of her in a goofy outfit standing next to him with no caption.
There had been breakup rumors surrounding the couple in June, but Miley shot them down with a tweet that included a sweet picture of herself with her man. She wrote on June 11, “Happy 10 year anniversary my love, Good to see everyone is as dumb as they were in 2009! Some things never change….& I hope the way you feel about me is one of them. You’re truly,”

Secret Meeting

Sometime ago, Disciplined Actor (DA) was spotted in a hotel somewhere south of the city. Easily recognizable, the onlookers tried to see if His Partner (HP) would be around. DA was apparently alone when he registered at the front desk. Seeing a solo actor booking a room at a classy hotel was not unusual, as he might be there for the night for an event or for wanting to be alone. However, onlookers were hoping HP would show up.
DA, who has been exploring various ways to test the limits of his capabilities, is admired for his patience in his career and determination to succeed in his endeavours. Whether he is acting in a movie, opening a business, or spending time with HP, DA is focused on his goal and will not be swayed nor distracted.
When DA left the lobby and was on his way to his room, the onlookers stayed on, as they anticipated the typical gimmick of showbiz personalities, whereby checking in a hotel is done separately so as not to attract attention. They had expected HP to show up. Waiting for someone to show up was futile, as hours passed.
While people did their business with the front desk, the staff were surprised when an attractive woman came over. The woman, whose identification said she was in the dental profession, asked for DA's room. Hotel policy requires notifying the checked-in guest before allowing anyone to go to the room directly. The people in charge were sceptical over why DA would expect a woman visitor other than HP. The woman was subsequently cleared to go up to the room of DA. If walls could talk, then DA’s true nature can be known. The glaring question is what business the woman had with DA and does HP even know about such meetings of her boyfriend.
