Acting is not an easy job especially if one’s co-actors are not of the same caliber. If a co-actor in a scene cannot deliver the required emotion, efforts of the other actors in the scene will be futile once the director yells ‘Cut!’ Thus, it’s really not enough to just be good-looking or register well on camera. Such situation could have started the feud between Network Actress 1 (NA1) and Network Actress 2 (NA2).
When NA1 and NA2 were starting out in their project, NA1 observed that NA2 was not that skilled in acting. The weak acting of NA2 slowed down production and became frustrating for her fellow actors, as it would take a longer time to shoot her scenes. NA1 became frustrated and started questioning why NA2 had to be part of their project.
Well, no one could really answer that query of NA1, as casting has always been approved by higher management. Once the bosses agree on the list of actors for a project, the production team will have to do their best to bring out the best out of their talents.
To solve the problem with NA2, the production team gave her an acting coach. The coach could only do so much, as NA2 could not settle in her role yet. Her diction was unnatural, and her acting was a bit below the level of the other actors. Unfortunately, her role was too pivotal and her character could not be merely killed off. Besides, the viewers were increasing. The production team had no choice, but to be patient with NA2.
Nonetheless, NA1 could no longer hide her frustration and started to vent out. First, she allegedly questioned why NA2 was given a big break despite poor acting skills. Thus, speculations on NA2 having a backer were raised. Second, NA1 expressed her unsolicited advice that NA2 should just have remained acting in independent movies.
Like typical rumors, NA2’s statements reached NA1, who did not like what was being circulated against her. Soon after, the two no longer spoke to each other and the only way to rid of frustration against each other was to make the scenes as realistic as possible.
