Clarification on the Sunlife-Manila House Statement Regarding the Viral Video
The alleged video has since gone viral and the event was indeed controversial. The incident occurred in Manila House. The woman in the red dress is talking over her mobile to a certain Jo (a member of Manila House) and complaining about the size of a particular dish served at an event of a Sunlife official that she took charge. Apparently, during the food tasting, the cut of the salmon was bigger than what was served to the guests in the actual party. Hence, the conflict arose, as the bill has yet to be settled at the time of the video.
The video gets interesting when the standing man, who is presumably a managing partner of Manila House, starts screaming at the woman on the phone. As he raised his voice at the woman, he abruptly grabbed the mobile from her and starts explaining to Jo. The staff had to pacify the angry partner.
Sources say that after the incident, the woman filed a complaint against the man for his behavior. The parties settled the matter amicably. The said altercation happened several months ago and the video only surfaced a few days ago, and is still making its way in social media. While the issue has been closed, the resurfacing of the video has caused quite a stir. Hence, the statement was released to point out that all has been resolved.

Just to Explain

When celebrities share photos or ideas in their social media accounts, expect an onslaught of comments ranging from agreement, bashing, speculations, and even made-up stories. Several celebrities would spend time thanking netizens who posted comments, refuting claims, lambasting bashers, or merely not react at all. The most intriguing posts are the ones that are left unexplained by the celebrity.
Sometime ago, netizens were surprised at a photo that showed marks left on a Young Celebrity (YC). Comments speculated on the cause of the said marks, which were not addressed by YC directly. Other netizens hinted on the identity of the guilty party, as the cryptic quote of YC was vague.
According to the grapevine, the Speculated Personality (SP) was both guilty and not guilty in the situation that caused the marks on YC. SP and YC met at a party, but the two arrived separately. SP was already at the party when YC arrived with Her Female (HF) companion. SP mingled with the male guests, YC with the female guests, and HF stayed quietly in one corner.
When the party was over, SP came over to YC, who was just about to leave. SP said that he wanted to bring her home, but YC said that HF was going to drive her home, as she had no driver. Besides, she needed to leave early, as she had to work early. SP insisted, but YC repeated her reply and said that HF did not drink because she was the designated driver. As he was already under the influence of alcohol allegedly, SP repeated his desire to bring YC to her home. Then, he said that he did not trust HF. At that point, HF stood up and took YC by her elbow. Allegedly, SP held on the YC and HF responded by pulling YC away from SP. The pull was harder than expected and left its imprint on the arm of YC.
When YC told what happened, her close relations were furious at SP for insulting HF. That insult led to the brief altercation that caused the marks of YC. Thus, YC is indeed both guilty and not guilty.
