When a child is sick, expect parents to be on the watch, making sure everything is fine and the child will always have what he or she needs. For Filipinos, age does not matter and parents will always be on the lookout regardless of the child’s age, that is, even if he/she is already an adult. Parents, meanwhile, would always place the welfare of the child ahead of theirs. What if the tables are turned and this time, it is a parent who is sick?
Growing up, Celebrity Child (CC)’s family has always been admired. Although the parents are successful in their fields, the CC and the other siblings were not forced into the limelight, as some parents would often do. While they would have wanted the kids to follow their footsteps, CC was not forced to do so until the day she wanted to and was ready to step in front of the audience.
When CC showed her raw talent, expectations were high and there was clamor for her to explore a career in performing. Blood is indeed thicker, as CC could no longer avoid the call of the stage. Soon, she started appearing on TV and gaining followers. As months passed, she had successfully started to build an image away from the pressure of the family name. Everything seems perfect, as she has a budding career and supportive parents.
Then, one day, A Parent (AP) had to call in sick. The world of AP stopped. Everyone knows that when health falters, every detail is put to a halt, not just for the patient but for the whole family as well. As Filipinos are known to be clannish and concerned most of the time, the entire family was expected to be there 24/7. CC was expected to be with AP, as the dutiful child. However, netizens were shocked to find out that CC was allegedly attending a party while AP lying on the hospital bed. Such sighting of CC disappointed many, as people hoped CC would be at the bedside of AP.
Parents are parents and even if they say to their children that it’s okay to go to this and that party to enjoy, deep inside they would rather not have the kids leave them. Luckily, AP’s operation went well.
