GMA Network Gets Exclusive Free TV Broadcast Rights to Air Pacquiao Versus Horn Fight

Broadcast giant GMA Network inked today, June 15, a partnership agreement with boxing promoter ALV Events International to air the much anticipated bout between the Pambansang Kamao and boxing’s only eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and tough Australian fighter Jeff Horn aptly dubbed as the “Battle of Brisbane: Pacquiao versus Horn” on July 2.
GMA will exclusively air the match on free TV starting at 10AM with a replay on the same day at 11PM. The Network’s flagship AM station dzBB 594, FM station Barangay LS, and all RGMA stations nationwide will also air a live blow-by-blow account of the action beginning 9 AM.
According to GMA President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., the Kapuso Network is glad that fight fans can watch Pacquiao defend his WBO Welterweight title against Horn on GMA. “Nasisiyahan tayo na sa GMA muli mapapanood ang susunod na laban ni Manny. Alam natin na nasa kondisyon si Manny at bukod tangi naman lagi ang kanyang pinakikitang performance.”
Meanwhile, ALV Events International Chairman Arnold L. Vegafria is thrilled to team up with the Kapuso Network and looks forward to Manny’s triumph next month, “We’re very excited and it’s an honor to partner with GMA. We are one with the Filipino people in praying that Manny will win in his fight against Jeff Horn.”
Also present in the contract signing were GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, GMA First Vice President for Program Management Jose Mari R. Abacan; GMA Vice President for Drama Redgie A. Magno; GMA Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier-Cruz; GMA Assistant Vice President for Program Management Mitzi G. Garcia, and Manny Pacquiao’s legal counsel Atty. Brando Viernesto.

In terms of her public character, PP has a light disposition and shows wit every so often. Despite her age, PP has also indicated that she is more than just a pretty face, as she can come up with replies that can silence her bashers. Thus, for her fans, PP is indeed worthy of their time, attention, and resources.
With the popularity of social media use and its power to praise and bash any celebrity, certain platforms can be used to share sentiments. In the case of PP, she allegedly has a chat app, where she expresses her deepest sentiments, which cannot be made public. Most often, her postings are raw and controversial once read by fans who will not bother with the context of why she had expressed such ideas.
The chat group, comprising of her closest fans sworn to secrecy, reveals another side of PP, the one that seems not to match her looks. While one can say PP is just being human, the repercussions of her revelations have allegedly led to undesirable effects. Through this chat group, PP expresses what she disdains against her co-workers in her station. For example, PP has mentioned negative information on Female Newbie (FN) and Famous Actress (FA) in her posts. FN and FA are currently linked to Showbiz Scion (SS) and Cute Hunk (CH), respectively. While on cam, PP, FN, and FA might appear pleasant toward each other, the opposite might be true behind the scenes.
The sad part is that some fans in the chat app who follow the posts of PP are affected by her ideas. Hence, FN and FA are bullied by the so-called fans of PP via their respective social media platforms. Although PP might be considered as a newbie in the industry, she should realize that her words and deeds are influential. With her fans raring to protect her status, they sometimes become overprotective and malign other young talents to make sure PP is way ahead of the pack.
