Becoming Conceited
Although her career is not yet that long in the entertainment industry, ND has gained the friendship of several big and influential celebrities of the business, with no distinction of network affiliation. ND has friends from all networks, as indicated by the people who like her posts in social media, and she could work in projects of any media outfit.
Although ND has managed to keep a low profile these days after a heartbreak a few months ago, she has remained visible. Her recent projects have all been blockbusters or landed high in the ratings game. She is an impressive performer, and apparently, she knows her worth.
One time, ND was invited to a party with her friends. Before arriving, ND called the host and made a few requests, which raised quite a number of eyebrows. ND left instructions that someone has to be assigned to prevent people from having a photo with her. The moment she and her entourage entered the venue, the people who saw her were puzzled. ND was walking with her head held up high and without care. A quick glimpse from the left to right seemed to indicate that she was looking for something. However, as soon as the people near her realized that ND was doing, they smiled. Obviously, ND was anticipating that someone would ask for a selfie. The crowd was different because no one bothered to approach ND.
As her career moves up, ND seems to be developing an attitude that she is already too famous and a thinking that she would be mobbed by fans. While the Filipino audience might know her, hardly would fans crowd an actor/actress who plays a supporting role in movies. It seems that ND is already too full of herself with the illusion that fans would bug her for poses. ND should remember the hard truth that while most of her close friends might be mobbed by their fans, she, by contrast, has too few to even make an impact.

For the first time, a gay-themed movie tackles gay relationship in a different light, more humane, with no unnecessary hysterics and over drama that often seek to exploit their unique relationship.
Andi (Angel Locsin) and Max (Sam Milby) were college sweethearts who eventually broke up when Max decided to pursue medical studies abroad. Lost and heartbroken, Andi gets on with her life doing events while leveling up as an aspiring fashion designer.
Years after, Andi excitedly reconnects with Max, now a doctor, who introduces her to a fellow doctor, Christian (Zanjo Marudo), Max’s boyfriend. Andi was crashed and devastated. The Third Party revolves around these characters and the travails and humor in the lives of a freshly-minted gay couple.
Max and Christian live together as a couple, looking like ordinary man-woman who have deep love and respect for each other. But their resolve gets tested when they unwittingly invite Andi into their lives, forming an odd set-up like never before.
The arrangement, ’though indeed awkward, is made light in the way director Jason Paul Laxamana presented it. The scenes, as casual as the ones at the dining room and as delicate as those in the bedroom, are presented tastefully, careful not to offend the senses. There are tons of laughter and humor without necessarily negating the essence of the story and what it hopes to achieve.
The scenes are cute and downright funny, enough to excite the audience while roar with laughter at the same time. In particular, that scene of Andi and Christian having a good time at a karaoke bar was a riot. How Andi gets into Christian and Max’s lives and the utter confusion (and chaos) that follow will definitely keep the viewers in stitches.
Alongside the humor and funny antics, the characters have their share of emotional outbursts, too, as they deal with the complexities of their situation and family issues.
In terms of acting, the three lead stars did not disappoint. Without a doubt - Angel, Sam and Zanjo proved their mettle in this movie. Drama actress Angel pulled in a pleasant surprise as a natural in comedy. Zanjo is slowly but surely evolving into a versatile young actor. As the controlling gay Christian, he calls the shots, even to the sensitive decisions that his indecisive partner Max cannot handle.
Director Jason Paul Laxamana’s indie background is seen in his prudent approach into the lives of gays, their relationships and family. It is heartwarming how crucial the family’s role is in the midst of the characters’ major conflicts. Andi’s odd relationship with her mom (Cherrypie Picache), along with their emotional confrontation quite illustrate the fact.
The movie’s screenplay likewise deserves credit for its originality and modern, crisp dialogues that give it more credibility. Indeed, words have power.
In the end, how the protagonists will deal with their issues and the truth in between bring excitement as the story takes a few surprising turns. Therefore, be prepared to be (pleasantly) shocked.
Also starring in the movie are Beauty Gonzalez, Matet de Leon, Al Tantay, Alma Moreno, Carla Martinez, Chung Sa Jung, Maris Racal, Odette Khan, Trina Legaspi. The Third Party is showing simultaneously in cinemas nationwide. Catch it!

Cannot Defy The Reality of Getting Old
For so many years, Versatile Talent (VT) has enjoyed a stable career by being included in all the projects of Creative Director (CD). Even if VT only were to play a supporting role, his presence was still noted in the projects of CD. This consistent appearance fueled rumors that something deep was happening between the two. However, CD remained mum on the matter.
While VT comes from a well-established family, his followers believe that he does have a fallback in case his showbiz career would not work out. VT could always go home and pursue the family legacy. However, even if such option was available, VT opted to make a mark in the entertainment industry.
When CD left, VT’s life was never the same. Unlike before when he was assured of projects, this time, VT had no sense of security. Although he tried his luck in other stations, he would still return to his home network and try to be loyal.
As he would never be able to rekindle the relationship he had with CD, VT still hopes that any of the hotshot directors of his network would have the heart to take him. Often, VT has been observed to hang out where the powerful gay executives of his network spend time. With fingers crossed, VT wished he would be noticed, but no one has given him much attention unfortunately. Unlike before when his presence in CD’s projects would not be questioned, now, VT has to take the longer route and work hard to earn a slot. Even if he has talent and loyalty, the executives are not attracted, as there are fresher, younger, and more able-bodied actors in their vicinity.

She rose to fame with her viral videos on YouTube, lip-syncing “Twerk It Like Miley” and dancing to the “Trumpets” challenge, which got almost two million views.
More than just a pretty face, the fast-rising star is also a girl of many talents. Aside from hosting, dancing, and throwing punch lines in the top-rating gag show “Bubble Gang”, Kim is also a recording artist, having just released her debut single, “Know Me”, under GMA Records.

Actor Albie Casiño is moving forward after being cleared from the paternity issue of actress Andi Eigenmann’s daughter, Ellie.
In an interview on Thursday at the blog conference for his upcoming movie, “The Escort,” Casiño said he has no plans of taking legal action over the paternity issue, which hampered the early parts of his career as an actor.
“Hahaba pa ‘yung proseso eh, you know what I mean? (The process would take long, you know what I mean?)” he explained. “I’m just so happy to be done with it. I don’t have to worry about them. My name is not associated with them anymore.”
He continued: “I think that was the worst thing for me, when people heard my name [and said], ‘Oh yeah, he is the dad of the kid.’ You know what I mean? But now, no one thinks that anymore… I’m happy that people can talk about the issue and not talk about me anymore.”
Casiño said he already had a feeling that he is not the father of Eigenmann’s child, but he did not burn bridges with the actress just in case he was wrong.
“I just wanted to be civil with her (Eigenmann). Of course I was never sure, I asked for a DNA test. I didn’t get a DNA test. I had a feeling it wasn’t my baby, but I was never sure,” he said.
“I wanted to build a good relationship just in case, a plan B, just in case it was actually my kid,” he added. “So we would be on good terms and stuff. But like now, I don’t have to worry about it anymore [because] it’s not my kid,” he added.
With the issue out of the way, Casiño is happy that he can now focus more on his career.
When asked if he feels vindicated by the revelation that he is not Ellie’s father, the actor replied: “I don’t think anyone can win in that situation… Whatever happens now, bahala na sila doon, wala na akong pakialam doon (Whatever happens now, they can deal with it, I don’t care).”
