A Way to Cover Up His Weakness
Often, timing is crucial in the careers of celebrities. One moment, a celebrity could be swamped with projects, and in another, the celebrity would be staring in the air waiting for that next big project. Thus, the pacing of one’s activities is crucial because a celebrity who is seen as often runs the risk of being subjected to malicious rumors and being forgotten by the audience.
Given that a big station has so many talents and continuous to discover new ones, celebrities could not be on their shows every single day of the year. Although there was a time when a hot celebrity was given one project after the other, the station tries to balance the exposure of their cash cow talents these days. Such strategy assures the station of consistent ratings and revenue. Moreover, fans are hooked to the station because projects are given enough time for preparation and they have something to look forward to.
However, when Talented Performer (TP) was in the middle of his teleserye, which required several locations, he had to attempt to balance his time and work. Because his role demanded depths in acting skills, TP definitely could not rely on his cute antics or looks. He had to be in character to make sure his co-stars will not make him look pathetic. Then, other than his acting stint, his management thought it would be best for him to launch his music.
Between the time for his teleserye and his waxing of his record, one had to give way. TP was just too engrossed with his teleserye that some parts of his other project suffered. Even if the acting project had wrapped up, the pressure to finish the album and the promotional activities was getting too high. As a result, a subtle effect happened.
Allegedly, just to come up with the album, a ghost singer was hired to sing for TP. The voice of the ghost singer was so similar to that of TP that only the very meticulous listener and follower could make the distinction. The ghost singer act reached a wide distance. At some point in one of his shows, TP was merely lipsynching a few songs while the ghost singer was allegedly singing at the backstage. When a major promotion was in the offing, TP was overwhelmed with fatigue that he realized he needed help. Although TP sang several songs, the ghost singer was present because his services were much required.

For the first time, Dennis Padilla shared his account when he accidentally crossed paths with daughter Julia Barretto at a gym where both of them regularly go to three months ago.
Speaking on “Magandang Buhay” on Thursday, Padilla said it took over a year before his accidental meeting with Barretto happened.
“By accident, nagkita kami sa gym kasi kung saan 'yung gym niya, doon din ako nag-gi-gym. Nagyakap kami sandali. Hindi ako nakapagsalita,” he recalled.
Padilla said he then distanced himself as his daughter worked out fearing that he might break down in tears.
“Nung yumakap ako, ang nasabi ko lang ‘I love you, anak.’ Yun lang, maikli lang. Tapos lumayo muna ako dahil maiiyak ako eh ang daming tao,” he said.
Padilla said it was only when Barretto was about to leave that he approached his daughter again.
“Noong parang aalis na siya, sabi ko, ‘Julia, puwede ba pa-picture tayo?’ Tapos nagpa-picture kami. Lumabas sa Internet 'yung picture namin sa gym.”
“’Yung pagkikita namin na 'yun, one year 'yun. Mahirap, masakit mahiwalay sa asawa pero mas mahirap mahiwalay sa mga anak,” he added.
While admitting his shortcomings as a father, Padilla said he would like to improve his relationship with his children.
“Dadating ang panahon na iyon kaya lang gusto ko sana agad kasi hindi ka naman bumabata. Gusto ko sana agad habang malakas pa ako,” he said.
In May, Barretto clarified that things were okay between her and Padilla even before they saw each other at the gym.
“As a daughter, it makes me really happy because at the end of the day, he’s still my dad. No matter what, gusto ko sa huli okay kami, walang hard feelings,” she said.

Hope They Could Make It

Some talents go through the process of auditioning, while others are spotted at random and introduced to influential people in a network. The luckier ones get their exposure immediately, whereas others have to wait if their time will ever come. For the meantime, they just have to learn to sing, dance, act, and other skills that would firm up their steps in the business.
With the humungous number of talents wanting to break into the business, networks are assured of second-liners in case their main stars decide to leave, become difficult to work with, or simply lose interest. The traditional way of promoting talents individually seems too costly, and thus, the network has to be creative. Now, talents who have potential, but have yet to find their distinction are lumped in groups. As time passes, one will definitely stand out, but for the meantime, the members have work and exposure.
When the network decided to form a new group, the management had to contend with the past of the members. Member 1 (M1) already has a lovechild, but was advised not to reveal having a child. The belief is that one loses luster once he/she admits to having a child. Thus, M1 kept his secret and sacrificed the truth. However, time did not want to play along and circumstances led to M1’s admission.
It must have been a relief.
Now, Member 2 (M2) is caught in a dilemma. When the mother of his child (yes, he has one, too!) saw the revelation of M1, she threatened to spill the beans on M2 if he would not be man enough to recognize in public his child. Thus, M2 is allegedly expected to give his confession any time soon.
Then, Member 3 (M3) is upset over something that he could not reveal. Unlike having a child, admitting one’s sexual preference is like admitting one’s career runs the risk of ending. M3 is being built in the mode of a matinee idol and thus, he has been given a Newbie Partner (NP). To spice up things, Member 4 (M4) has entered the scene to form a love triangle. The audience loves it, but there are a couple of problems. First, M3 noticed that M4 is crossing the boundary by making the love triangle real, which would benefit NP, of course. Second, the problem is that something is between M3 and M4. Hence, their triangle was becoming complicated and before things get out of hand, management decided to let things cool over by separating M3 and M4.
Finally, there’s Member 5 (M5). Compared to the others, M5 has more experience outside the industry, more mature, and packs more muscles. In short, he seems awkward to be part of the group. Suggestions have been raised for his removal from the group, but people are wiser as they know such act is impossible. Besides, M5 is backed up by an Influential Personality (IP), whom no one would dare challenge. Thus, for the meantime, M5 stays.
Given the recent developments in the network, only the ones who would be granted the smile of Lady Luck would have the chance to pursue that elusive dream. Considering that the members of the group do not have showbiz connections, they could only rely on their talents and hope the audience would favor them. The network has too many talents these days, but who knows, if the next big one will be one of the members.
