Careful with Your Requests

Just as when people thought that Snobbish Talent (ST) has tapered down her pride and attitude, they were wrong. While ST has gotten herself in hot water over being insensitive some time ago, she has tried her best not to project such a strong image. However, it is her attitude that gets in her way.

During an ad shoot for a personal hygiene product, ST asserted her presence without regard for Regal Personality (RP) and Accomplished Young Actress (YA). Given that there were three of them, the positioning is significant. The production was stunned because ST kept insisting that she should be in the center with RP and YA at the side.

ST said that she was among the original talents of the said product, and thus, it is only right for her to be the focus. While RP has obviously given more to the country than ST, she had to put up a face of humility. ST even had the gall to tell RP her sentiment even if she made it sound like an innocent statement. Being smart, RP knew how to respond to ST.

To show that her accomplishments have not gotten into her head and perhaps to silence ST, RP jokingly agreed to the proposal of ST. However, those who heard her response knew RP was already sarcastic, which ST did not recognize. Obviously, the plan was to have RP in the middle because, no doubt, no accomplishment of ST could even match the honor RP had given to the country. Hence, among the three, RP should indeed be in the center, where she rightfully belongs.

Still, the production did not give in to ST because their plans and concepts have specific actions for each of the three. These plans were not just done overnight and hard work has been done to make sure the shooting goes smoothly. With neither side budging, the shoot was rescheduled.

The production held an emergency meeting to thresh out the development. After deliberation, they decided to give in to the request of ST. Thus, she will get what she wants, which is to be in the middle with two talented personalities at her sides. However, nothing passes without payment or some form of retribution. Thus, during the meeting, the production decided that as soon as the contract of ST expires, she would be let go. While ST may have gotten a laugh when the production gave in to her whim, we know who gets the last laugh, and it is definitely not the spoiled one.

Well-Kept Longing For Her Project to Close

Whenever a project ends, the cast usually expresses disappointment and gratitude. First, actors express their disappointment and say that they will miss the role that they have played for a season or two. Then, they would also say they will not forget the fun times with the production crew and thus, the disappointment will be in not working with the same people. Second, most actors leave messages of gratitude in their social media accounts and end with their character’s name signing off. Nonetheless, this gesture seems to be the least they could do for those who followed their project.

Talented Actress (TA) expressed her gratitude in her social media some time ago. TA said that she was thankful for the role, her director, and the location shoots that went with their storyline. While her message could be read with the attitude that it’s a generic statement, reading between the lines tells there is something deeper in her message.

The Challenging Project (CP) was a surprise assignment for TA and her fans because of the attempt of her network to try if she could move on to more mature roles. Without much say, as she is under contract, TA accepted the offer and encouraged fans to support her acting challenge. As the project unraveled, viewers realized that the theme was heavier than expected and when she and Her Partner (HP) were deglamorized for their roles, the fans did not easily catch on to these shifts in their looks and storyline.

After airing and a few weeks on TV, netizens were giving feedback and even TA was not spared from being criticized even though she was just fulfilling her role. Worse, the ratings were not as high as expected and reviews were not impressive. These items were new to TA, as she had always received good feedback on her teleseryes and even had most of them last for a couple of seasons. As if things were not enough, even the additional cast was being criticized not only by netizens, but also even by showbiz personalities who watch the project. Although the production value was seen in the locations, these peripherals were insufficient to draw the ratings and the audience.

These factors started to take its toll of TA. Then, the production and even the heads of the project noticed that TA seemed lethargic. The lack of zest soon affected her acting, and TA seemed to be acting mechanically. The passion for the role was not as strong as expected, and it seemed that TA was tired of acting a role she was not comfortable doing. Even the delivery of lines of TA lacked emotions, and people sensed that ending the project seemed to be the right decision. Thus, while others might be sad that CP ended, TA is quite happy that CP ended and her message was sincerely written with her heart. Now, TA could move on to other less pressure-ladened projects that could bring back her image that has endeared her to her followers.
