Striving Not to be a Victim

Whenever someone you love gets sick, you normally worry and will do your best to help the person feel better. But who would have thought that the person you love is not just a victim of an ordinary bug bite or a simple fever and headache. These can be symptoms of a worse case, a life-threatening viral disease that is prevalent especially this rainy season. With just a single mosquito bite, you might lose the person you love the most. It is known that each year, dengue kills thousands of people around the globe. Thus, the world’s first anti-dengue vaccine was administered as prevention among public schoolchildren in the Philippines.

The said movement, which is part of DOH’s Anti-Dengue Advocacy Campaign, later raised controversies questioning its effects to children. That’s why aside from the vaccine, DOH continually reinforces its campaign with encouragements to families to wear protective clothing, stay in well-screened housing, reduce mosquito habitats, and to seek early consultations. Also, for families to avoid dengue, it is recommended to use repellent lotion for added protection that is proven safe like the Moringa-O2 Herbal Insect Repellent Lotion. What about you, what do you do to protect your family?
