Her Love of Money

There is no business like show business – so goes the title of a song, a slightly tongue-in-cheek salute to the color and excitement of a life in show business. “

Indeed, the lure of showbiz is so great for most people that there’s nothing they will not do to gain entry to the world of glitz and glamour. If only for the quick and big bucks, the fame and endless perks that go with being a celebrity, showbiz is like ‘opium’ to the uninitiated. But that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Not everyone knows that behind showbiz’s glamour and prestige are dirty politics, scandals, deceit and lies – not to mention, sex and drugs - these are not for the faint of heart. While there may be decent actors and actresses, it doesn’t change the generally negative image that is attached to Philippine showbiz. Yet, many young people are so obsessed by it like it’s the be all and end all of life.

After all had been said and done, the steely determination of Showbiz-obsessed Personality SP cannot be discounted. SP is unstoppable, will do everything at all cost to pursue her long-held dream to be a big star. After the much-publicized controversy she got embroiled in, seems like SP doesn’t want to stop the momentum.

Reportedly she is using Cute Flame CF to draw controversy yet again. Unknown to her, it is a mutual feeling on the part of CF, as he knows that he, too, benefits from SP’s notoriety. The two are constantly together amid ugly talks and bashings from netizens. Critics are one in saying that SP and CF have never been so desperate for publicity ever.

All these brouhaha and the negative image of SP, with CF being dragged to it, reportedly do not sit well with CF’s family. His parents are said to be enraged by his bad publicities and this has been bugging CF a lot - and he has every reason to. Insiders revealed that his family has now demanded that he leave and stop seeing SP immediately, no ifs, no buts. The threat is real – or he will be punished and sent abroad asap!

No Rematch for 'Sore Loser' Pacquiao - Mayweather

'I lost a lot of respect for him after all of this,' says Mayweather of the focus put on Pacquiao's shoulder injury

Floyd Mayweather Jr has rescinded his offer of a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, saying he doesn’t like the way the Filipino boxer has handled his unanimous decision loss this past weekend.

Despite telling ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith that he would give Pacquiao a rematch in a year after Pacquiao recovers from surgery on a torn right rotator cuff, Mayweather says he has changed his mind because of what he deems to be Pacquiao making excuses for the loss.

“Did I text Stephen A. Smith and say I will fight him again? Yeah, but I change my mind,” Mayweather says in an interview that will air in the Showtime replay of the fight this Saturday.

“At this particular time, no, because he’s a sore loser and he’s a coward… If you lost, accept the loss and say, ‘Mayweather, you were the better fighter.’”

Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 knockouts) had surgery on his right arm Wednesday afternoon U.S. time, claiming that he aggravated an injury from 2009 when he banged shoulders with a sparring partner less than a month before the fight.

Pacquiao and promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank claim that the Nevada Athletic Commission unfairly denied him anti-inflammatory shots to his shoulder on fight night.

The commission released an image of the document that showed Pacquiao’s handlers did not disclose the injury before the fight and claim that the request for the shots were made less than two hours before the fight.

“He was fast. His left hand was fast. His right hand was fast and he was throwing them both fast and strong,” said Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs)

“I’m not going to buy into the bull---- and I don’t want the public to buy into the bull----. He lost. He knows he lost. I lost a lot of respect for him after all of this.”

Mayweather has said his final fight will take place this September, when his six-fight deal with Showtime elapses.

Are Solenn Heussaff & Iya Villania Competing against Each Other?

Solenn Heusaff challenged friend & co-host Iya Villania to a Nonstop Dubsmash challenge, a play on the Hollywood hit Pitch Perfect’s “riff-off.”

The game works like this: a person will upload a Dubsmash video singing a song and the person nominated will have to continue. The catch? The next person has to choose a song that starts with the same word that was the last word sung in the previous person’s video.

Solenn recently uploaded a video of herself belting out to Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music” using the dubbing app that’s been all the rage in town. She then nominated Iya Villania, to step up and post her own video.

Not one to back down on this, Iya took on Solenn’s shout out and responded with her own video.  She showed off some serious skills with Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off.”

Who do you think did it better? Follow Solenn and Iya’s Dubsmash challenge on Instagram with the hashtag #NonStopDubsmash and see who rocked it out the best! Better yet, upload your own! Use the hashtag #NonStopDubsmash!

Hi-Precision Diagnostics Launches Medical Diagnostics App

After pioneering online laboratory results in the Philippines, Hi-Precision Diagnostics (HPD) is offering another healthcare innovation – the country’s medical diagnostics mobile application.

Developed to make health management more convenient and accessible, the Hi-Precision Diagnostics mobile app features a sophisticated software program that provides a cumulative report or the summary of an individual’s previous medical test results. Apart from providing figures, the report also contains green and red arrows, for clearer indication of high and low results.

“Today’s widespread adoption and use of smartphones and mobile devices have opened new ways to improve healthcare management. With the use of mobile apps such as HPD’s medical diagnostics app, one can gain access to useful information whenever and wherever it is needed,” Kendrick So, HPD’s I.T. manager, said. “This is especially helpful for individuals who need to keep track of important health indicators such as sugar or cholesterol levels. With the app, one does not have to worry about going to the lab, to get results or find your previous records.”

The results can be downloaded online in the form of a Portable Document File (PDF). As the first medical laboratory in the Philippines that allows patients to access and download their results online, HPD is also the only laboratory that stores a patient’s history permanently while maintaining security and confidentiality. Other institutions, while offering online results, only keep records for a certain period of time.

"We believe that this new app signals a major step for patients to be more mindful about their health and wellness. We expect this to revolutionize the way individuals look at their lifestyle and how it affects one’s health. By being more aware of their medical diagnostics, it will help them make informed choices when they go to laboratories, as well as improve their relationship with their doctors,” So said.

The HPD mobile app teaches you how to prepare for the tests and features a dictionary so you can easily understand medical terms. Through the app, you can also locate HPD branches nationwide and view its doctors’ directory at your convenience. What’s more, the mobile app allows you to keep up to date with HPD news and events.

With the launch of the medical diagnostics app, HPD continues to change the game in diagnostics. With 18 years of quality healthcare, HPD is ISO 9001:2008 certified and PAO 15189:2010 accredited, ensuring that their systems and processes meet the international standards. To provide the highest quality laboratory services and reliable test results, HPD has invested on being a complete and fully automated medical diagnostic facility, providing precise and top quality healthcare for customers at reasonable prices.

The facility also offers tests that are not readily available in the Philippines, esoteric or difficult to perform and other comprehensive services. Having the largest network of medical diagnostic facilities in the Philippines, HPD has over 20 branches located in Mega Manila, Metro Cebu, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan and Pampanga and employs over 1,000 medical professionals and staff. To ensure its clients’ convenience and comfort, the company also offers Home Service and Mobile On-site Services not just to individuals but also to hospitals, clinics, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), schools, government agencies, insurance companies, and corporations from various industries.

The Hi-Precision Diagnostics Mobile App is available for both iOS and Android operating systems, and can be downloaded for free at the Apple Store and at Google Play. Just search for the keywords “Hi-Precision Diagnostics.” For more information, contact Hi-Precision Diagnostics at 741-7777 or visit www.hi-precision.com.ph.
