Actress Ara Mina appealed for understanding amid rumors that she and long-time partner, Bulacan, Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses, have already called it quits.

In a statement sent to entertainment website Push, Mina admitted problems in her relationship with Meneses -- just like other couples.

Maraming salamat po,” Mina said in the statement.

The actress added she will eventually open up about their relationship when the right time comes,.

Just last month, Mina posted a photo of her and Meneses on Instagram when their baby girl, Amanda Gabrielle or Mandy, was baptized last March 17.

Leading to Regression

It was bound to happen. All those nights spent enjoying the fruits of his resurrected career are now slowly but noticeably creating an undesirable effect in the attitude of Carefree Hottie (CH). While several actors have been granted a second chance to revive their career, only a handful have come back and stayed with better discipline, attitude, and goals. Most end up returning to the cause of the initial decline of their career only after short time after the surge of their second opportunity.

CH at this point in his career might end up losing what his network and management have built for him. At the start of his second chance, people who worked with CH were praising him for his attitude. He was easy to work with, and was not bossy towards his coworkers. He did what was asked for him and he played it along with his Reel Partner (RP).

However, over the past months, CH seems to be living the time of his life, and indulging in partying, drinking, and mingling with the opposite sex. Thus, a change in his attitude was detected, as CH is no longer as cooperative, leaving RP to make sure that their fans will continue to endear their loveteam.

Although they are often together, which means they have almost the same activities, CH would excuse himself from events and cite fatigue as reason. RP, meanwhile, could not do anything, but attend events even without CH. Well, some have commented that at the rate CH is going with his partying, a hangover might be the reason. Most glaring is his absence when events do not have a talent fee.

Then, when CH and RP were supposed to guest on a weekly show, CH came late and was unable to attend the technical rehearsal. By contrast, RP arrived early and was ready to rehearse. After the said show, CH and RP were slated to attend an event hosted by a well–renowned and respected expert. No longer surprising, CH excused himself and said he was tired. RP was again alone.

On the one hand, CH seems to be getting away with his uncaring ways. Instead of disciplining him, his management is allegedly focusing on damage control. On the other hand, RP was never heard to complain even if people knew that she was tired and lacked sleep. However, RP is the one who gets all the bashing.

Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful. – Margaret J. Wheatley

Please Don’t Go, Let’s Have Some Fun

“ Never run after men, let them chase you, they are wired for it.”

Such was the wisdom of old, the oft repeated reminder from our elders as to how women should conduct themselves. Back in the days, a woman flirting with men and making moves to attract them were considered taboo which deserved condemnation.

But times have changed and so has character. To date, some women even consider chasing men as an art, and has become a source of fun and entertainment when the flirty girl brags about her conquest to her friends..uh oh.

Big Chaser BC is a notorious one who makes no bones about running after any man that catches her fancy. BC doesn’t make distinction, everybody is welcome whether he is young or old, an actor or a colleague, single or married – it’s a free for all.

After watching a sold-out concert by a foreign artist recently, BC and some friends headed for a drink at a swanky bar in the city. At the bar, BC spotted two members of a national team -  Popular Player PP and Hot Athlete HA who incidentally also came from the same concert. Obviously, they were so hyped up by the energy from the artist’s numbers that they decided to follow it up with a few drinks at the bar.

BC who is known to get excited with hot guys, approached and mingled with PP and HA. The 3 of them had fun, got one drink too many, and not long after, PP and HA were like dancing dudes out for a hot number – they were oh so drunk. BC reportedly got more excited. They all left the bar together. Still sober, BC didn’t think twice about having the boys checked in at a nearby hotel at 2am.

At the hotel reception, BC told the staff that she (BC) would only fix the boys’ overnight accommodation since they were too drunk to go home, after which she would leave them soon.

The next day, the same staff was bewildered, didn’t have the idea that BC’s ‘soon’ meant 5 hours after, as she saw BC hurriedly coming out of the elevator at 7am! Oh they must have gone ‘slowmo.’

Letter from a Reader: Patient's ATM Card Loss, Bank 'Inconsiderate'

Dear Fashion Pulis,

I am writing because of my father's lost Metrobank ATM card. I hope that from this story, your readers will learn not to trust just anyone even if it means choosing between life and death.

On March 26,  my father was rushed to the hospital and brought to the ER (emergency room) because of weakness and difficulty of breathing. He was accompanied by 3 of our neighbors. You see, we do not have relatives nearby. My father lives alone and I work overseas.

The doctor advised that my father needed to be admitted to the ICU (intensive care unit) because his condition was quite serious. He was asked by the hospital for a cash deposit of Php10,000, otherwise they would hold him at the ER. My father had no choice but to give his ATM card to one of his watchers to withdraw the money because obviously, he could not physically do it.

The watcher withdrew the money that night. She claimed, with a witness attesting to her statement, that she returned the ATM card with the deposit receipt and Php1,500 cash to the other watcher who was holding my father's personal belongings. Another neighbor came by to check on my father's condition. My friend who was notified of my father's situation sent me a message right away.

That same night, my friend went to the hospital and asked one of the watchers for my father's Philhealth card. She was given the wallet and in front of everyone took the Philhealth ID card out then returned the wallet to the same watcher.

At 5am, an ICU nurse gave the watchers a list of items that they needed to buy for my father. It was at this point that they discovered that the ATM card was missing!  My friend told me about this incident  and right away i tried to call the bank to block it in behalf of my father. But to no avail. It was a Friday afternoon Philippine time. I was advised to ask my friend to be the one to do it, to get a medical certificate and go to the branch on Monday to block the card.

I arrived in the Philippines on March 30, and went to a Metrobank branch the day after, hoping that they could shed some light and assist me in identifying the culprit. But they said they could not help me. I was devastated.

I am not filing a claim from Metrobank to return the money stolen but i just want to know who the thief was and then decide what actions to take from there. The bank informed me that there was indeed an unauthorized withdrawal of the amount of Php14,000 but was told that they could not assist me because the PIN was disclosed to someone by the depositor himself.

I argued that the patient could not do the withdrawal himself given his circumstance. From among the 3 watchers and one more who came that same night, I cannot just point my finger to anyone even if one of them was given the PIN. I asked if I could be allowed to check the CCTV but was declined because according to them the CCTV is only accessible at the main branch.

My father is still in the hospital, with hospital bills filing up and Php14,000 short. His ATM could not be replaced until my he  "personally" collects the 'new' card from the branch with a notarized affidavit of loss. I guess my father could now say goodbye to his money at Metrobank because he can no longer walk around without an oxygen mask. I was thinking that the bank would at least reconsider and go the extra mile considering my father's condition. But I guess their client's interest is not their priority.

I was told that the risk my father took when he gave out the PIN to someone jeopardized the chance of the bank helping us further - even if the reason was not out of boredom or laziness, but because he was in a life and death situation. Until now he is not aware that his money is missing because that would cause him more stress. That was my hard-earned money and given my father's situation, I have lost every cent to the thief and the bank.

Thank you, Fashion Pulis, for publishing my letter.

Sincerely,
Aminesza
