She Can’t Just Be Meek

Confident Actress CA knows her craft. At a very young age, CA definitely knows where she’s headed. The public saw how she evolved from a child star to a full grown actress capably essaying roles beyond her off-screen age. Undeniably, her years in the industry and passion in her craft molded her to justify her present status.

Industry watchers find it easy to understand CA’s innate talent. They say that her hard life growing up had tremendously contributed to her performance, especially the intensity she gives to every role assigned to her. Such talent expectedly draws both praise from industry veterans and envy from colleagues who cannot deliver as much.

Allegedly, CA has become quite sensitive and gets offended every time her performance is compared to other actors that she answers some queries with a haughty tone.

Reportedly, CA was so annoyed at being repeatedly asked why she accepted a support role for a popular series. When the same question was brought up again recently, she was calm when she said that it was okay since there are no big and small roles for them actors.

But what shocked those who heard CA was her follow up statement, in her words: “ Makikita nyo naman sa social media, sa tv, mas markado naman role ko than ----, so stop na.”

Whether said in jest or otherwise, people believed how right CA was.

“ It’s hard to be humble when your tank is full. “

Fr. Romeo Obach's Hand Written Letter to Unwed Mother

After issuing a public apology for berating an unwed teenage mom during her child’s baptism, a Catholic priest in Cebu on Tuesday reached out to the 17-year-old mother through a handwritten letter.

“Allow me to express my deep regret for the painful action I’ve done to all of you and those who witnessed it. I had no intention of saying that in front of all of you. I deeply regret this and I beg you to forgive me for what I did last July 6, 2014 in the chapel of the Sacred Heart,” Father Romeo Obach of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Latin: Congregatio Sanctissimi Redemptoris – C.Ss.R) said in the letter which was written in Cebuano. The young mother received the note on Wednesday.

He wrote that he also wanted to meet the young mom again so that he could apologize to her personally.

The Commission on Human Rights visited the young mother on Wednesday. In a tweet by Cebu Daily News, she said she and her family would no longer pursue a case against the priest.

On Sunday, Obach scolded the teen mom during the baptism of her baby for “sleeping with a man who was not [her] husband.”

“Makauulaw.Magpabunyag ka og walay bana. Nakig dug ka og laki nga dili nimo bana. Wala ma mauwaw Naka dungog ba na nako, dai? Wala ka mauwaw? (How shameful. You come here to have your child baptized without a husband. You slept with a man who is not your husband. Do you hear me, girl? Aren’t you ashamed?)” Obach said. The video of the incident, which was posted by the baby’s grandmother on Facebook, quickly became viral.

On Tuesday, Obach issued a public apology for the “words [he] said and the rude attitude [he] showed” during the baby’s baptism.

“I deeply regret that I have done this. I only later realized how cruel my ways to educate and impart lessons for the said event. I am deeply sorry to the mother of the child, her relatives, the sponsors and the witness of the incident. I am sorry to the Internet viewers, to the media listeners and the viewers for this mistake. I personally admit. I am deeply sorry and I humbly ask your forgiveness. I execute this statement of apology on this 8th day of July 2014 at Cebu City,” he said. Lawyer Catches Wife in Bed with Minister

A lawyer caught his wife having sex with their religious group’s minister in a motel room in Pasig City Monday.

The lawyer, 51, was accompanied by a police officer and some barangay officials when he barged into the motel room and they saw the minister, 50, in bed with the lawyer’s 42-year-old wife.

The minister was brought to the Eastern Police District (EPD) annex for investigation.

The couple and their minister live in the same barangay in Marikina City, said Senior Police Officer 3 Bobby Lumiwan of the EPD’s criminal investigation unit (CIU).

Several days ago, the lawyer hired the services of detectives from the Eyespy Detectives and Investigators Co. following reports that his wife had been having an affair with the minister, Lumiwan said.

At about 6 p.m. Monday, a detective informed the lawyer that his wife and the minister were in a car and had parked the vehicle in the garage of a motel along Hillcrest Drive in Pasig City.

Accompanied by his police escort, Senior Police Officer 1 Noel Nuñez Jr., the lawyer sought the help of barangay officials and rushed to the motel. He kicked the door of the motel room and found his wife and the minister naked in bed, Lumiwan said.

The lawyer claimed the minister punched him and forced him to retaliate.

The lawyer’s wife, on the other hand, rushed to the bathroom to put on her clothes, according to the barangay officials.

With the help of Nuñez and the barangay officials, the lawyer managed to handcuff the minister and brought him, along with his wife, to the EPD annex, where the lawyer lodged a formal complaint.

The lawyer’s wife claimed they were just talking and eating in the motel room.

The minister, who is separated from his wife, told Lumawin that his relationship with the lawyer’s wife is not “full-blown.”

EPD-CIU chief Senior Inspector Edilberto Sanchez ordered yesterday the filing of adultery charges against the minister and the lawyer’s wife with the Pasig prosecutor’s office.

A Major Corporate Blunder

As it's always said in business, if you don’t have customers, you don’t have a business.

We always hear that customers are the most important part of an organization. Anyone who is in business will always want to keep clients or customers coming in and reward them for their loyalty. Perks given for their patronage and loyalty definitely work wonders. It can be in the form of promotions, freebies, discounts, or can also be something personal like a gift for a client’s birthday or anniversary or promotion, and more. Personalized experiences are known to ignite feelings in customers.

A good public relations aka PR executed sincerely can win you many brownie points. If you are into beauty/service business, it could be something as simple as one free service after every five or a little more advanced such as a “point” system that wins them reward points every time they use your services which can be redeemed anytime.

You can also hold a VIP event in which you invite your top-spending or most loyal clientele and invite them to explore services for free. Pampering them won't hurt as they can help spread the word around, especially if a particular client is into PR himself.

Others go the extra mile and want to create an impact on their " big " clientle by giving them expensive gifts - as in the case of this known beauty Business Owner BO.

BO who has been in the beauty industry for years has gained quite a respectable following especially from showbiz people. BO has the names of popular stars and industry movers who regularly avail of his services whether as sponsored or paying clients. As is the practice, the perks BO gives to his clients depend on their status and how important they are to his business.

Owing to the image of his business, most of the clients of BO belong to the upper strata of society. As such every gift should be well-thought of knowing his exclusive/well-heeled market. Needless to say, a gift should always be appropriate to the receiver.

An Influential Man IM who is like every showbiz person's go-to-person for their concerns on anything and everything in the industry is one of BO's top clients. BO knows for sure how indispensable IM is, knowing his hold in the industry.

One day, BO showed his appreciation to his clients and gave them something to show for it. Thinking that he would impress them big time, BO gifted them with LV bags each. His clients were obviously glad to have received the branded bags. But lo and behold, the joy was just a quickie. How insulted were they when they found out that the LV bags were fake!

But that's not the end of story, the well-heeled IM upon finding out that he was given a counterfeit bag taught BO a lesson he won't forget. IM had the fake LV bag returned to BO asap!

Moral of the story: " It's not the cost but the thought that counts " is so passe. With PR gifts, it is the other way around - the cost should and must always count.

" Showing off is the fool's idea of glory. " ~ Bruce Lee

Official Statement of the Redemptorists on Fr. Obach, CSsR

CONGREGATIO SS. REDEMPTORIS
Provincial Superior
Cebu Province
Provincial Office
Don Ramon Aboitiz St.
6000 Cebu City, Philippines

1. We, the Redemptorists of the Province of Cebu are deeply saddened by the incident that happened on July 6, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Chaplaincy in Jagobiao, Mandaue City. The said incident involved one of our confreres, Fr. Romeo Obach, CSsR. We were made aware that the incident was videoed and uploaded on social media and has since gone viral.

As a religious community we DO NOT CONDONE such an UNACCEPTABLE ACT as it is contrary to the Charism and Mission for which our Congregation was founded – compassion especially to the poor and the most abandoned. We sincerely feel for the family and to them we extend our heartfelt apology.

2. An INTERNAL INVESTIGATION is underway. Rest assured that appropriate SANCTIONS on the part of the involved will be applied once the investigation is complete so that justice may prevail.

3. We will reach out the aggrieved family at the appropriate and most opportune time to address this particular matter. We respect their situation at the moment and sympathize with their hurt and anger over this matter.

4. The Redemptorist Community has always upheld the rights of the poor and disenfranchised since the first missionaries arrived here in Cebu in 1906. And this has been our conviction through the decades. It is but unfortunate that the incident involving Fr. Obach occurred, as he has been a good missionary for many years. He has served in many capacities and various places heeding the challenges of the congregation, yet he is also human and prone to lapse of judgment and imprudence.

5. We appeal for calm and sobriety from everyone even as we try to assess both the outcome of the investigation of our confrere and at the same time reach out to the family. We appreciate that if you have further concerns, address them to the SUPERIOR of the Redemptorists.

6. May this also serve as a reminder to us in the religious life and the clergy of our role as pastors: that we are called to serve and not be served and to offer our lives for all (cf. Mt. 20:28). On behalf of the Redemptorist Community of Cebu, we extend our sincere and humble apologies.

Forever Testing His Mettle

For the first time ever, people were one in expressing their joy over the recent happy development from Blossoming Lady BL. Her storied love life is one for the books, one that had impacted the public so many times. In recent months, fans and loved ones were relieved that the once poor little rich girl had surprisingly made a turnaround – BL had finally found the one in Determined Actor DA.

BL’s fastidious Close Relative CR conceded, albeit with hesitation. But nonetheless, people were unanimous that it was good enough for all concerned.

Most recently, CR was reportedly backstage while a network show was airing. She was overheard to be in a light mood talking to some people. Apparently, her past cynicism towards DA had leveled up and she was already quite happy with him for BL, saying that he seemed to be good and ideal one for her.

However, when someone asked CR on possible marriage for the couple, it was then that her tone turned different. She said so strongly that a marriage was out of the question, as in nothing forthcoming. If at all, DA would have to wait for years, enough time for him to save up, because he really has to save up for their (DA and BL) future. CR further added that she cannot allow that BL would be the one to provide for him. In her words: “Alangan naman ang --- ko pa ang bubuhay sa kanya? “

People who heard her just shook their heads. To them it was not new. Indeed, CR is just consistently anal when it comes to money matters – BL’s money, that is.
