Rejecting the Quirky Actor

During the peak of her career, the movies and appearances of Comical Talent (CT) always delivered good returns on investments. However, her career has been on a downswing ever since she allegedly got entangled with a then-powerful scion. Prior to this involvement, CT always kept the public updated with her lovelife and her plans to get married, but nothing materialized.

At one point, CT found herself in the midst of rumors linking her with Enthusiastic Actor (EA), who is quite younger. However, CT denied anything was happening between her and EA even if they were always together and teased by their co-starts during their show.

While EA might not be the most attractive man as he is fond of projecting an unconventional look, CT found something else in him that was more attractive. EA is part of the showbiz family, whose patriarch is known for being a ladies man and of his giftedness. Younger and robust, EA must have satisfied certain needs of CT.

Still, CT is denying that she and EA ever became an item. While CT is struggling with her career and lovelife, EA has moved on by trying his hand at financing films. So far, his ventures with his friends have earned respectable returns at the box office and received good reviews from critics as well.

Will CT ever find true love and revive her career? Though she may not be as smart as other actresses, CT has a good heart and she has used much of her earnings for her family to have a comfortable life.

You have people come into your life shockingly and surprisingly. You have losses that you never thought you'd experience. You have rejection and you have learn how to deal with that and how to get up the next day and go on with it. - Taylor Swift

Redefine Coffee with Café France

Café France has long been known to be a place where friends and family sit down for a hearty meal, freshly baked French breads, a nice cup of coffee and healthy fruit shakes. Adding to its already wide range of recipes and offerings, Café France launches its very own hybrid products which are firsts in the country. We have had enough of the “cronut” or the croissant-doughnut, the “bronut” or the “manly” doughnut and the “brookie” or the brownie-cookie. The rave is all about Café France’s CROFFEE – that is croissant + coffee.

Coffee addicts and bread lovers will surely love Café France’s unique permutation which is served hot and freshly baked, buttery and crisp on the outside, chewy with coffee crème inside, topped with a drizzle of premium chocolate. Café France brings the coffee experience and hybrid craze to a whole new level. Enjoy the rich taste and thrilling aroma of espresso while slowly savouring a coffee croissant. For people who need their caffeine fix in an instant, a cup of brewed coffee can now be swapped with a piece of ESPRESSO BOOSTER – another first from Café France. Made from real coffee beans coated in rich dark chocolate, it has the same effect as an espresso shot but with added antioxidants from the dark cocoa, plus it is candy too!

These Young China’s Got Talent Contestants Will Make You Cry

China’s Got Talent contestants Zhang Junhao and Little Xixi battled it out to go to the next round, but what happens next was truly touching.

After their performances, the two little contestants were brought to the stage by the judges, where they would select only one of the two to progress to the ‘Great Hall’.

Little Xixi asked: ‘Can’t both of us go to the Great Hall? Only one person can go?’

The judges then asked the young girl whether they should choose her or her rival, Zhang Junhao.

‘If he’s sad then I’ll give him my chance to go. If he’s not sad, then I’ll go.’ Little Xixi said.

The MC then asked Junhao who he wanted to go to the next round if only one person could go through.

“Xixi, because I’m a man.” The 3-year old boy said.

The judges were so surprised and in awe by their responses, that they asked the two young contestants to decide themselves on who should go to the Great Hall.

“What did you say?” Little Xixi asked Junhao.

“You go.” Junhao said.

Little Xixi then told the MC and judges that Junhao should progress to the next round instead of her because she was older.

“I should give him the opportunity because he’s younger.”

However, it was still up to the judges to choose between the two young contestants. Junhao was eventually chosen by two of the judges.

Still Junhao was not happy that his new friend, Little Xixi wasn’t chosen to progress to the next round with him.

“Keep it up, Xixi.” He said to her before he broke into tears.

Little Xixi was given an opportunity to convince judges to use their saves and send her to the next round with Junhao.

“Isn’t Junhao sad? He’s there waiting for me.”

Xixi was immediately saved by the judges and was sent to the Great Hall.

The Metrosexual is Dead. Long Live the 'Spornosexual'

In a development which will probably have him running to the mirror yet again to search anxiously for lines, this year the metrosexual leaves his teens and turns 20.

How quickly your children grow up. Although it seems only yesterday, I first wrote about him in 1994 after attending an exhibition organised by GQ magazine called "It’s a Man’s World". I’d seen the future of masculinity and it was moisturised.

"Metrosexual man, the single young man with a high disposable income, living or working in the city (because that’s where all the best shops are) is perhaps the most promising consumer market of the decade," I predicted.

Two decades of increasingly out and proud – and highly lucrative – male vanity later, and the metrosexual remains the apple of consumerism’s rapacious eye. In a recent report, HSBC drooled all over his "Yummy"-ness, pointing out how mainstream metrosexuality has become.

This was of course old news to anyone with eyes to see the extremely image-conscious and product-consuming men around them – or in bed with them. Or the way that the glistening pecs and abs of men’s health and fitness magazines have been outselling the "lads' mags" for several years.

Or indeed anyone who saw the news last year that men in the UK now spend more on shoes than women.

From the perspective of today's fragranced, buffed, ripped, groomed, selfie-adoring world, it's hard to believe that the metrosexual had to struggle to be heard in the early 1990s. Most people were in "New-Lad" denial back then about what was happening to men and why they were taking so long in the bathroom.

Just as male homosexuality was still stigmatised and partly criminalised back then, the male desire to be desired – the self-regarding heart of metrosexuality – was scorned by many. Narcissism was seen as being essentially feminine, or Wildean – and look what happened to him. The trials of Oscar Wilde, the last dandy, at the end of the 19th Century helped stamp a Victorian morality over much of the 20th century. Male vanity was at best womanish – at worst, perverted.

The end of the 20th century, the abolition of the last laws discriminating against male homosexuality, and arrival of the preening dominance of celebrity culture with its Darwinian struggle to be noticed in a visual, "branded" world finally blew away the remnants of Victorianism.

To illustrate this, I only have to say two words: David Beckham, the working-class England footballer who became more globally famous for his attention-seeking haircuts, unabashed prettiness and rampant desire to be desired than for his footballing skills. Once the sari-wearing midfielder was outed in 2002 (by me again, sorry) as the ultimate metrosexual, everyone suddenly "got it". All that Nineties denial turned into incessant Noughties chatter about metrosexuals and "male grooming". But still people failed to understand what was really going on with men.

In fact, the momentous nature of the masculine revolution that metrosexuality represents has been largely obscured by much of the superficial coverage it got. Metrosexuality is, in a paradox that Wilde would have relished, not skin deep. It’s not about facials and manbags, guyliner and flip flops. It’s not about men becoming "girly" or "gay". It’s about men becoming everything. To themselves. Just as women have been encouraged to do for some time.

This uptake by men of products, practises and pleasures previously ring-fenced for women and gay men is so normal now – even if we still need to be reassured with the word "man" or "guy" emblazoned on the packaging, like a phallic pacifier – that it’s taken for granted by young men today who really have become everything. So much so that it can be too much for the older generation of metrosexuals.

With their painstakingly pumped and chiselled bodies, muscle-enhancing tattoos, piercings, adorable beards and plunging necklines it’s eye-catchingly clear that second-generation metrosexuality is less about clothes than it was for the first. Eagerly self-objectifying, second generation metrosexuality is totally tarty. Their own bodies (more than clobber and product) have become the ultimate accessories, fashioning them at the gym into a hot commodity – one that they share and compare in an online marketplace.

This new wave puts the "sexual" into metrosexuality. In fact, a new term is needed to describe them, these pumped-up offspring of those Ronaldo and Beckham lunch-box ads, where sport got into bed with porn while Mr Armani took pictures.

Let's call them "spornosexuals".

But unlike Beckham's metrosexual ads of old, in which his attributes were possibly artificially enhanced, today’s spornosexuals have photoshopped themselves in real life. Think Towie's Dan Osborne in a pair of glittery Speedos (and then have a lie down.)

Glossy magazines cultivated early metrosexuality. Celebrity culture then sent it into orbit. But for today’s generation, social media, selfies and porn are the major vectors of the male desire to be desired. They want to be wanted for their bodies, not their wardrobe. And certainly not their minds.

I suspect Wilde might have approved.

Enjoying Their Exploits

He used to be the epitome of a wholesome, young boy in showbiz. Apart from his teenaged fans, most mothers found him pleasant and charming, maybe quietly wishing he were their daughters’ suitor or boyfriend. Such was the charm that possessed this young and now Hot Actor HA.

But not long after, observers noted that his boyish appeal was slowly fading and a flirty HA is taking over which he seems to enjoy. HA appears to have succumbed to peer pressure and industry influences, slowly shaping him up to be a man his parents will never even dream of.

HA’s millions of fans and admirers would be very disgusted if they learn that HA is no longer the clean and wholesome boy they used to know. Reportedly, HA has not only become a drunkard - but hold your breath - also addicted to carnal desires.

HA’s colleagues alleged that when drunk, HA craves for girls to do ‘it’ with. Initially, his trysts only involved women, but he could have been overflowing with libido that it seemed like girls were just not enough. The latest – HA also loves gays as well. Uh oh...

In one of his shoots, a staff alleged that HA and the Designer/Stylist DS assigned for the brand had one drink too many after the shoot that - yes, you guessed it right – HA and DS had so much ‘fun’ together that night.

The rush of HA’s adrenalin is so active that he can’t be drunk and be without sex. His association with his ‘Special Friends’ SF are complicating his situation further. Reportedly, HA and SF have that one vice in common, habitually doing it with girls and gays alike.

Other friends of theirs were shocked when informed that HA and SF also play around among themselves. Allegedly, in order to protect themselves from the prying eyes of the public and to avoid suspicion from their higher ups, HA and SF resort to doing it themselves in private. Only they know how far their their wild exploits will go.

These young boys behaving like loose cannons ought to realize the dire consequences their adventures will lead them.

“ In a time of social fragmentation, vulgarity becomes a way of life. To be shocking becomes more important—and often more profitable—than to be civil or creative or truly original. “ ~ Al Gore
