Such Kinky Mindset

Production and fellow actors were in a jovial mood as they celebrated
the conclusion of their very successful teleseye TE. Amid all the
controversies that happened among its stars during its entire run, TE
was undeniably a phenomenal success .
It was public knowledge how the show’s main stars got themselves entangled in a major conflict while working on TE. As a result, working and taping on the set with co-actor/s whom one was so at odds with proved to be more stressful than the work itself. Thus the thanksgiving party meant so much more for the stars concerned, as it would be the end of the long-drawn “silent treatment” on the set.
During the party, lead stars 1 and 2, LS1 and LS2 obviously avoided each other, as it had been for months since their estrangement. The production team as well as the producers, directors, co-actors and guests were all in celebratory mode as they were watching the video of TE’s final episode. Most of them were all praises for LS1 who did such a splendid performance in the episode that made her stood out.
The air was bad for LS2 and she felt like being suffocated at that point. She felt that she was being burned alive hearing all the hosannas being heaped at LS1, while she was not getting any at all. Thus, she stood up and walked out of the venue pronto.
Showbiz is such a small world. After all was said and done, people are of the belief that it’s about time that LS1 and LS2 start to bury the hatchet and start anew – whether as friends again or acquaintances.

My friend MF was with a few friends in a restaurant/bar whose name is similar to a kiss, located somewhere at the Fort. As soon as they were seated, MF saw a notorious celebrity NC looking weird, several tables away. NC was with a huge group of friends, around 20 of them – all decent looking, English-speaking bunch. NC looked like a sore thumb, an odd one out – and how?
At this point, MF started to give me a blow-by-blow account of what was happening right before him. NC looked weird, talking very loud (in tagalog) and rowdy throughout. She was fidgety - sitting down, getting up, walking around, giggling, hugging the waiter and kissing him! The bouncer was going after NC to calm her down, but she was just uncontrollable.
MF observed that NC was gulping down a strong alcoholic drink Jaegermeister, then afterwards mixed it with another drink, and what do you get? Wild NC became wilder and more unruly and annoying to the rest of the customers, including MF’s friends who wanted to call the attention of NC group to her behavior, but changed their mind after thinking that it might only cause trouble, and they were not prepared for it.

MANILA, Philippines -- Erik Santos said he is past feeling offended by persistent rumors that he is gay.
The 30-year-old singer, in an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report" aired Saturday, said he has conceded that his critics are not likely to change their opinion of his sexuality.
"Noong una, siyempre [napipikon ako], pero ngayon, kung anuman 'yung ipakita mo sa kanila, hindi mo naman sila mapi-please," he said.
"Kung anuman 'yung paniniwalaan nila, 'yung pa rin naman 'yung pinaniniwalaan nila eh. Bahala na kayo sa buhay niyo," said Santos, who is celebrating his 10th anniversary as a professional singer.
To mark his decade-long career, the "ASAP" mainstay is releasing two albums -- "The Erik Santos Collection," a compilation of all the film and TV series theme songs he has performed, which is now out in stores; and a new all-original album.
Ten years since he emerged champion in the Kapamilya singing contest "Star in a Million," Santos has a clear vision of where he wants to take his career.
"[Singing is what I do best] and feeling ko 'yun ang strength ko," he said in an earlier interview. "Mag-offer nang mag-offer ng kanta, masaya o malungkot. Iyon ang direksyon ng career ko. 'Yun pa rin."

Rotten to the Core

WS entered showbiz on the strength of her connection- her very popular relative PR. They were a picture of an ideal family where caring for each other was the norm. PR did everything possible - making no stones unturned – even creating enemies in the process - so long as WS got the breaks and realized her dream.
More aggressive than PR is WS herself as far as self-promotion is concerned, she hates being upstaged. Anyone whom she sees as a threat, WS makes no bones to bash like there’s no tomorrow, including those who incur her ire at the slightest provocation.
WS is relentless - allegedly, including sleeping with anyone who is willing to help advance her career. Right now, she is so happy and feels she’s in very good and stable hands – two top guns are reportedly behind her back.
As such, must WS still feel insecure? Or she thinks she’s powerful enough that she can always get away with anything, especially with her signature meanness.
People thought that WS had long made peace with popular performer PP after their feud years ago - it appears that it was not yet the end of it.
PP and WS were together in a room for an event. Allegedly, WS was overheard alluding to PP when she sarcastically told people in tagalog (within PP’s hearing distance), “ At least, I don’t have any teleserye that flopped!”
Those who heard her could only shake their heads. It sounded that WS’ gripes were misleading - out of context, out of nowhere. However, PP seemed unfazed and looked too busy to pay WS her much-desired attention.

Dealing with a Concubine

Networking
as defined by the dictionary is the cultivation of productive
relationships, a supportive system of sharing information and services
among individuals and groups having a common interest. It is generally a
way to do things to help people manage successfully.
But there are those who want a quick fix, like going straight to the powers that be where they know that they can get away with murder (being talentless, unqualified, among others). These people believe and subscribe to the adage:
“It is not what you know, but who you know.”
The oft-repeated saying has become the mantra of those who are usually bereft of qualification but who want a faster transaction done for their benefit using well-connected relations as go-between. The bottomline of these negotiations are favors exchanged between parties.
Rightly or wrongly, it is undoubtedly a built-in advantage, especially in a very competitive world of showbiz. It has worked many times, as seen from those who have “availed” of it.
After sometime, handsome hunk HH has gotten back to being active on television again, particularly in his home network HN. But the terms of his comeback was not without the execution of the “necessary evil” so common in the industry.
Earlier, the 90’s star’s last projects were big disappointments causing him a dearth of projects for quite a time.It was during those times where he thought of transferring networks, but the better of him prevailed knowing that leaving his HN would be like suicide. Yet his HN was keeping him at bay for the longest time. It was then that HH knew he had to strategize.
HH knew that at one time, married network boss NB had a crush on him, but HH set her aside because he had a relationship then. Now that he’s very much available - and in desperate need - he decided to refuel NB’s burning desire of him once again. Your guess is right – the very vulnerable NB gave in. Wonder no more why both NB and HH look so blooming nowadays –especially before the cameras in their respective programs.
