A makeup artist (MUA) and two actresses (A1, A2) were talking in the dressing room in between their photoshoot. A1 and A2 are both returnees to the network. One of them already has a running teleserye, while the other has projects lined up. The other characters are PC, a politician comedian, and WC, a writer comedian.

Translated into English, the conversation went this way:

MUA: Sister, why is PC joining your show? I thought it was just you, A2, and WC?
A1: I have no idea. I got surprised myself. Ask A2.
MUA: Sister, what can you say about PC being with you in the show?
A2: Yeah! It's so cheap! I was so excited for this show but then I found that out so I lost all excitement.

A Little Less Attitude

Sometime ago, celebrities visited the victims of a calamity down south. The victims were temporarily living in a school and were looking forward to any assistance extended to them. One of the celebrities, a well-respected and established male singer, stepped out of the van, talked to the victims, and listened to their stories.

In contrast, the other celebrity, an actress, was a disappointment. She took a step out of the van, looked around the area, and went back in the van without even spending some time with the waiting victims. The people then caught an expression on her face that she did not like what she saw. While in the van, she used a megaphone to talk to the people in the area. Some victims thought this was rude of her, while some were very displeased because they expected more from her.

The irony is that the actress received praises for her dedication in participating in relief activities spearheaded by her network. Perhaps, off-cam it’s an entirely different story.

Dignified personality (DP) has a deep dark secret. DP likes to watch. DP does not merely watch taped television shows. DP likes to watch live shows. DP is a voyeur.

Recently in a hotel, which is within the radius of several media offices, the actors (two women and a young man) waited for their guest of honor. When DP entered the room, the actors became speechless when they realized who their guest of honor was. 

Apparently, DP is a regular customer of such private live shows and DP likes variety, such as watching two men together. The public image of DP is spotless. Often, DP can even be persistently influential and convincing.

Beautiful actress (BA), touted as having one of the most elegant faces, was dining with friends. BA excused herself and her nanny went with her to the restroom. As if she did not want anything to touch her skin, BA opened the faucet using only the tip of her fingers in turning the handle. The Singer's Liability

The young singer actress (YSA) is in line for more projects after the exodus of artists in her network. In fact, the network has already entrusted her with a series.

During one taping day, the production team provided two rooms in the location. One room was for the actual set, while the other was the holding room for all the actors. After her scenes, YSA went to the holding room. Her aunt started to mumble that the holding room was only for YSA because she was the lead in the series. The aunt ordered the nanny to remove the things of the other artists in that room. One of owners of the things being moved by the nanny happened to be a no-pushover senior actress (SA) confronted the aunt. Trying to find a good excuse, the aunt said she was just asking the nanny to put order to the things.

The other performers complained about this behavior to the production people and to the executive producer (EP). The EP had to make up stories that YSA was feeling sick at that time. After the incident, YSA and her aunt did not even apologize for the behavior.

In another incident, YSA and her mom were at the home studio. The mom ordered the janitor to bring her coffee. The janitor took time in bringing the coffee. The mom reprimanded the janitor and told him, “Di mo ba ako kilala? Ako ang nanay ng bida!” (Do you not know me? I am the mother of the lead!)

The career of YSA might not leap that far as the ladies in waiting are behaving worse than the princess. People hope that YSA does not imbibe the lack of breeding of the immediate people around her.

Who's the Father?

A sexy actress turned drama personality (SA) was out of the showbiz scene for a time and the public thought she was no longer in demand or she was doing shows abroad. There was even a rumor that SA finally settled down with the character actor who was involved in an on and off relationship with her. Last year, SA resurrected her career via a teleserye. Recently, in a press conference, she finally admitted that she gave birth when she was not in the limelight.

A few days after that revelation, SA was spotted in a food court carrying a baby. Together with SA were a nanny and two foreign guests. The people in the area could not help but stare because SA was in a public place and she was proudly carrying the child. SA did not mind being seen at all while eating in a public place.

Now, the question is who fathered her child. In the said presscon, she refused to identify who got her pregnant. Speculations range from the character actor to a powerful politician. Was SA afraid to admit the politician is the father, as that admission would put her and the child's life in danger?

The weekly magazine wanted to feature matinee actor (MA) on its cover. MA demanded his team be hired for the project. He wanted his own photographer and refused to have the photographer of the magazine take his photos. He wanted his own stylist and makeup artist as well. The catch is, the magazine has to shoulder all these expenses.

Naturally, the magazine hesitated. The magazine has survived very well and is backed up by one of the country's top broadsheets. The magazine has featured some of the biggest names in showbiz and they were not as demanding as MA.

Is this a selfish behavior on MA's part so he can have some control over his appearances? Is he just smart as his photoshoots can pave the way for his team of production friends to get some business?

In a recent corporate event, some guests wanted a photo with the male model/host who had just arrived from an island. Mustering enough guts, they approached him for a photo and he accommodated their request. He showed them his good side and they admired him more for showing decent behavior. He even continued to talk to them when he found out they had a common friend.

While they were talking, one of his island-mates called him to go to their table. He said he'll be there in a while as he was still talking with the guests. She continued to call him until it became irritating. The guests let him go and he apologized that he had to leave. The guests were irked with her behavior and they noticed she did the same thing to another guest of the event. Now, these are not ordinary guests as they belong to the group of people who can make or break a television show or even a network. As for the island-mate, she is not even his girlfriend!

Letter from a Reader: Unfulfilled Promises

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I’m an avid reader of your blog and I know that you not only post blind items, but also some of your readers’ experiences with bad service, scams, etc., as caution to your other readers. I hope you will post this, not only as caution to your readers, but to call attention also to the organizer of a particular sports event held last October.

This event was sponsored by a popular shoe/sports apparel brand. The number of participants was overwhelming. In all fairness, the event was organized at first with just some minor hiccups (which was understandable because it was a big event). They gave us a runner’s kit before the race (as advertised) and “promised” us a finisher’s kit as well after the race. After the race, we were surprised when we only received a poster and a letter saying that our finisher’s kit will just be sent to the address provided in our registration form.

At that point it was fine with us but as weeks past, we still did not receive our finisher’s kit. The last update they gave us through their Facebook page was last November and that they said they will be delivering this finisher’s item first week of December. It’s now February and we still have not received this item.

If ever they will organize another Run this year I really hope that they will stick to their promise, but I do not think I will be joining this event this year anymore.

Sometime ago, when Moving-on girl (MG) was scheduled to do a special number on this TV show, her makeup artist could not help but think of the odd way MG acted prior to her performance. MG locked herself in the bathroom before her makeup artist could fix her for the show. When makeup artist called for her, MG did not want to leave the bathroom and texted she wanted another makeup artist for that task. Of course, her makeup artist was persistent and managed to convince MG to step out of the bathroom.

Why did MG not want her makeup artist to fix her? It takes one to know one. MG was so afraid that her makeup artist, would be able to smell that she had taken something. True enough, makeup artist was able to detect that MG was not her usual self. Did she do that because she already realized the mess she got herself into? Did MG do that as a one-time experiment?

Gone in 60 Seconds

One night, in a bar somewhere in the city of stars, some girls were having fun and drinking. While most of them were tipsy, one of them caught the eye of indie actor (IA), who was drinking as well. The girl and IA kept exchanging glances until IA stood up and approached their table. IA introduced himself using his boyish charm. The girls were excited as they knew he was the latest discovery from the indie films and was next in line for major acting projects in his current network.

However, IA had his eyes set only on the girl. He sat next to her and they continued drinking. They hit it off and exchanged numbers. They continued flirting and started kissing each other right in front of the amazed girlfriends. After a few minutes, IA and the girl excused themselves.

IA took the girl to his nearby flat. The girl was all excited and had high expectations after all the flirting that happened. Besides, he was an actor so he might have some creative tricks to make their night memorable. True enough, it was indeed a memorable night because IA was done in less than sixty seconds! The girl was shocked that she could not help but share her story of disappointment to her girlfriends afterwards. On hindsight, the girl did say that IA apologized for being done so quickly.

Hopefully, IA will not live up to his character with this random encounter.

New Manager?

Is the new talent of a network having manager problems lately? He needed a new image and the network cooperated by including him in their major dramas. Although his movies did not do well, the network still trusted him.

While having too much to drink at a party for his latest project, the talent emotionally expressed his worry that his current manager is not cooperating at the way his career is turning out well. The talent feels that his manager puts more value in the previous network and more focus on managing the other talents there. Thus, the talent is planning to leave his manager as soon as his contract expires.

Are the worries of the talent unfounded or does he really have a substantial reason to change management? Please advice him.

Just Living with Reality

When he came back from his forced vacation, all were eager to know if talented actress (TA) will see him. TA replied that her January schedule is fully booked with tapings and other commitments. Besides, she said it was her time to be waited on rather than be kept waiting. Meanwhile, he said he also does not know, as they have not really talked for a while.

Barely a week has passed since then and the two have been sighted together. Both even attended social events, such as the birthday of a showbiz personality. That's not all! TA even flew to an island down south in a private jet, while he was seen in the same area as well. They stayed in a hotel for a couple of days and people assumed that they were threshing out whatever was left of their relationship.

Now, while returnee was away, TA and slick actor from the other network were seen doing PDAs and behaving like something more was happening between them. What happens to slick actor now? Did TA drop him for the returnee just like that? Did slick actor stay away from TA because he feared that last year's gifts might become real if he stuck it out with her? Or will TA risk everything and serve both at the same time? What do you think will happen next?

Jakarta Globe: Philippine Star Christian Bautista Deported From Indonesia

Multi-platinum-selling singer and actor Christian Bautista will be escorted to a plane and sent back to the Philippines on Friday night after violating the terms of his visa by giving a performance in Indonesia this week.

Immigration official Herawan Sukoaji said on Friday that Bautista was being deported for disrespecting and disobeying Indonesia’s 30-day visa regulations, which prohibit foreigners from working while in the country.

Bautista is also barred from re-entering Indonesia for six months, Herawan added.

The singer is scheduled to leave Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on an 8 p.m. Singapore Airlines flight.

“Christian’s departure to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will be escorted by investigators from the Directorate General of Immigration,” Herawan said.

Bautista was pulled in for questioning and had his passport confiscated on Thursday after it was discovered that he had staged a performance in Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang, the previous night.

After being questioned by immigration officials, he appeared on TransTV on Thursday night.

The announcement that he would be deported came on Friday morning.

According to Herawan, Bautista has traveled to Indonesia numerous times on a work visa.

“But this time, the sponsor did not fully understand the immigration regulations, so Christian used the free visa,” Herawan said.

MANILA, Philippines - Multi-platinum-selling singer and actor Christian Bautista is set to return to the country this weekend amid reports that he was deported from Jakarta, Indonesia for allegedly violating the terms of his visa.

A report from the Jakarta Globe said Bautista was being deported for violating Indonesian immigration laws for singing in a show in Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang without a proper work visa.

It quoted Indonesian immigration official Herawan Sukoaji as saying that Bautista had traveled to Indonesia numerous times on a work visa "but this time, the sponsor did not fully understand the immigration regulations, so Christian used the free visa."

Bautista's manager, however, denied that the Pinoy singer had been deported.

"Christian is not deported. Whatever the problems in the immigration was legally settled. He is on his way home from Singapore tomorrow and will be back in Jakarta for his Valentine's concert in Hotel Mulia," manager Carlo Orosa said.

He said Bautista will be flying to Singapore tonight before returning to Manila on Saturday. With a report from TV Patrol

Milking the Actor Son

When he left his network, his acting talent immediately got recognized in a surprise cult movie and highly-touted remake telerserye. The hardworking actor got various projects following the movie's success. Many people were happy for him including his family members who rely on him for financial support.

His manager is in charge of giving a family member the designated monthly amount. When he hardly had projects, the family got around 30t, then when his projects increased the family member demanded 50t. Now, the family member is demanding P100t. 

When the manager refused, he got unsavory and offending words from the family member. Despite being talented, the actor has yet to be a lead star material whose mere presence can guarantee projects to be box-office hits. Now he has to work even harder for his family.
