Just Lacking Public Rapport

Local TV audiences often wonder why the competition among networks is no longer as exciting as it was a few years ago. There was a time when primetime ratings were highly coveted and dramas were competing for the attention of the audience. Moreover, celebrities on rival shows were assumed rivals as far as fans are concerned. However, the competition now seems to lack that fire, as one network is clearly ahead of the others.

An open secret of a top network is the way they develop unknowns into famous personalities. Stars bring in fans, fans bring in viewership, and high viewership brings in advertisers. Obviously, the network knows how to market its talents and make sure everyone is familiar with a newbie. Once a talent is realized to be attractive to fans, the management takes care of him/her by giving ample exposure on air and even in print. Sometimes, showbiz radio commentators mention certain names, which their listeners would then recall as well. Thus, the network exhausts all means, including social media, to make sure their talents have a sustaining fanbase.

Meanwhile, another network has its own share of stars, but somehow, they are not as popular as those of the other station. Some could even be more talented and better looking, but then, they do not attract as many followers. When Beautiful Celebrity (BC) was seen in an event in a mall, the audience did not seem to recognize who BC was. While she waved at the thin crowd, the people just politely returned the wave. No screams for her were heard, despite her amiable personality.

When BC joined her present network, much promise was seen given that her parents used to be a hot loveteam during their prime. The features of her parents blended well, and BC has the face and physique that easily makes her standout. Besides, she had already completed college, and the time seemed right to renew a career that started out when she was very young.

Although she was the lead performer in various day and primetime shows, she was still not as close to fans as possible. The opportunities to establish a more solid fanbase seemed to be left on her shoulder instead of her network helping her out. Thus, some of those who watched her at the mall believe that her network seems uninterested in investing in PR machinery that could transform many of their talents into bankable stars.
