What a Corrupt Media Personality!

The past decades saw how media personalities have evolved as the last resort of the oppressed public to call government attention or it's officials to help them address their concerns. Media has involved itself in exposing corrupt practices of well-placed officials sworn to uphold to serve the public. Thus, the public affairs was born. The public holds media personalities in high esteem as they project readiness and willingness to use their broadcast power to carry out justice for the oppressed common folks.

But what if the esteemed media personality turns out to be sort of corrupt, too? Take the case of media celebrity (RC). RC got attention because of how RC pleasantly looked in front of camera. Apart from being telegenic, RC projected the “serious” and trustworthy image of a credible public affairs person.

A story is going around that RC has allegedly succumbed to soliciting “gifts” from establishments that have businesses of controversial nature. Thus, if the establishment could not deliver the “gift,” expect that it will exposed in no time. This is quite sad as RC is still considered young in the field. Although RC has been on television for a time, RC still has a long path in public affairs waiting to be conquered. Unfortunately, RC took the “payola” route as some media personalities have done before.

Generous talent manager GM is very giving to his talents - to his male wards especially. For people who know him, GM's generosity knows no limits as long as his wards are obedient and cooperative. As much as he can, he makes sure they are comfortable and well provided for.

Handsome actor HA is GM's latest ward in his large stable. HA is promising and quite talented, too. Since he is fairly new in the business, GM has provided him with free dwelling until such time that HA can provide for his own.

One day, GM went to visit HA's place to check on him and talk about some forthcoming projects. GM was knocking on the door but no one was responding. He repeatedly knocked but still no one answered. And since he had the key to the condo unit, he opened the door himself.

Lo and behold! When he checked out the bedroom, he was stunned with what he saw. HA was with a relatively handsome designer GD in a very uncompromising situation. Although both were fully clothed, their inverted look was something that sent shivers down GM's spine. For the longest time, he was frozen and speechless.

He didn't see it coming. He thought he already knew everything about HA. GM never knew that he would be in for that big surprise. HA and GD together? Showbiz and fashion crossover, again?

What just happened is no longer news in the entertainment industry where odd couples/combinations can beautifully jell and blend together, indeed.

GMA Network's Official Statement on Sarah Lahbati

"Last December, Sarah Lahbati unilaterally decided to take a leave of absence of one (1) month from GMA Network, because she said she wanted to de-stress and unwind. Because her reasons were vague, they were not accepted by management. While we understand that work in our industry can be stressful (as in any business), we believe that this is not only unavoidable in most cases, but also a part of what one does as a professional and/or performing artist.

Her leave of absence was also disapproved by management because of her pending obligations (i.e. Party Pilipinas, on-going promos and other endorsement commitments). However, on the evening of Jan 2, she tweeted that she will be going to Switzerland to study, despite the disapproval given to her last December on taking a leave. This is in violation of her contract, because she has to perform and appear in programs and events assigned to her, and make herself available to faithfully and promptly fulfill all engagements contracted for her by GMA.

At the same time, she has yet to address the issue of her walking out during taping, which caused the production team to pack-up, and incur an additional cost of 500k. She is therefore, currently under investigation and the network is still studying on what actions to take."

Getting Into His Soul

Media Celebrity MC tries very had to project a positive aura, one that is warm especially to his friends and followers. Apart from that, MC appears to be a decent guy who will not be caught engaged in public scandals. So when stories get around that he is into something not nice, people are not biting it easy.

MC was recently somewhere up in one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. There, MC bumped into some hot athletes HA from a certain university whom he invited for the an intimate party. He wanted these boys to join him, so he thought of using his hot girls friends HG as well, as bait and attraction to these guys so that they would be enticed more to participate.

At the venue, MC was extra chatty with the HA, partying with the booze and sounds to complete it. Throughout the party, MC was extraordinarily friendly with HA who felt obliged, since they find MC to be kind and fun to be with. Apart from that, HA enjoyed the company of the young HG who were just as cool.

While in the heat of the party, everyone was surprised that MC tried to pass around something " prohibited." Of course, the very disciplined athletes as they are, the HA's who come from a reputable university turned it down. But the persistent MC tried to sweet talk them into it, but the boys stood their ground and said no. Some HG had some of the stuff and went really wild that night.

Did MC's action signify something more than what the public already know about him? Is he, of all people also into "it" as well? Career-wise, he seems okay, but is he on the personal front? Are his problems as huge as his persona?

For the whole year 2012 that Fashion PULIS has been dishing out blind items (BI), many readers' reactions are as varied as their persona, getting affected by the stories in so many different ways. A great majority looks forward to every BI and waits till clock hits 12:05am to read it, after which they call it a night. Many treat every BI as source of fun and entertainment. Most get addicted, still others, well -- it is therapy.

And believe it or not, so many tell me and email me that among gathering of friends or even in their respective offices, during coffee and lunch breaks, Fashion PULIS BI's are very much present, and become their source of funny guessing games.

Others, especially some celebrities get bothered if they feel it is them being alluded to in the story. Same way with showbiz fans if their idol/s becomes the BI subject. But for the most part, FP readers are only curious as they take a peek at the lives of celebrities who in their eyes are larger than life.

You and I know that our daily dose of blind items aka BI's have been a big part of our online existence...aminin! To the extent that others can not sleep unless a BI has been posted. PATOLA Award - refers to any celebrity who got so affected by our post, and endlessly posted comments to defend him/herself. He/she hid under the name Anonymous.

SUKI Award - the most "sikat and well-loved" character, has starred in the most number of BI's.

BOX-OFFICE Award - the post or BI with the most number of comments exceeding 500.

WINDANG OF THE YEAR AWARD - the most controversial blind item that hits you the hardest.

DI MAKA-MOVEON.COM Award - a story/character that gave you sleepless days and

nights.

KAMOT- ULO Award - aka 'di mahulaan,' refers to BI that after 24 years, the answer is not yet settled in your head, as in!!

ARMED FORCES Award - celebrity with the most number of defenders, as in defending their idol 24/7 each time they read a post/comment that attack the Star of their lives.

MOST NEGA Award - celebrity with the most number of haters, almost zero defenders except herself/himself.

NOSE-BLEED AWARD - a challenging blind item because readers hardly understood the English words or descriptions used in the clue.

AMININ AWARD - celebrity with the most blind item questioning his/her true sexuality.

'PASSIONISTA' AWARD - celebrity with the most passion for magazine covers.

HAVEY na HAVEY Award - Like or Dislike's most well-liked celebrity magazine cover, as in almost zero okray...hahaha!

How Clueless Can She Get?

Talent Manager TM is deep into preparations for her popular talent PT's big concert this year. It will be staged during one of the year's busiest concert seasons. Performing along with PT are three concert icons CI1, CI2 and CI3 whose sensational performances and drawing powers in the concert stage are unquestionable. People behind the production team are in a quandary with some details of the said concert. Indeed, having four of these well-loved concert artists in one stage will never be a picnic. What maybe small details to one, may not be so with the other.

Take the matter of billing, for example. TM wants PT's name to come last and be highlighted with an "and" affixed before her name. Such a bold idea is tantamount to saying that PT is the forerunner or the main star of the concert. Something that does not fit PT's present stature alongside her three co-performers. Thus the billing proposal upsets the other half CI1 and CI2, who have both carved a respectable reputation in the music biz and whose versatility is beyond question. Truth is, either CI1, CI2 and CI3 are equally as good, if not better than PT - in terms of performance and popularity, at the very least.

Apart from that, TM had been advised that going for her preferred billing would put CI3's status in jeopardy owing to his affiliation with PT. Yet the stubborn TM insists and would not hear of it - not even realizing just how the appearance of the performers' names on the print (posters, tickets, press releases) will make one cringe in distaste. Indeed.

Insiders say that TM seems to be detached from reality or maybe just out-of-synch in the music scene. It's true that PT is an good concert performer, but she is far from the genius of CI1 and CI3. Which is why issues such as PT's billing in this case is definitely uncalled for, and does not bode well for PT and her family. May TM realize that sooner than later.

Runaway From Me, Please!

Beautiful Celebrity BC is so into this hot male model HM, to the extent that she tries to follow and stalk him as much as she can. BC's action is something HM abhors so much knowing that people speculate a lot on her presence whenever he is around. He can be right though because people really see them as such -- friends with benefits, that is.

At HM's recent gig with a another family member held at a posh venue at the Fort, BC arrived to give him support, with It Girls in tow. But HM wasn't impressed, he was in fact annoyed by it all. He told BC off that he wants nothing more than friendship between them. He turned her down, saying that she must stop getting too close. BC was furious saying she didn't deserve such treatment from him. Thus she made a rundown of all the help and everything that she did for him from the very beginning. People in the know ask what would she do that for? Same people reckon that she surely had vested interests right from the start.

HM's change of heart for BC is quite understandable. He knows that everything with her should only be temporary, and that BC must not claim that it will lead to anything serious. At his point, HM is right to assume that he has more to lose. Apart from a career that he and his close relative desperately desire, HM is into a serious relationship. And this one he can not afford to lose, definitely.

Will there come a time when BC finally come to her senses and stop chasing boys? Shouldn't she concentrate more on her career for the sake of her little loved ones who depend on her? Well, as they say -- a guava tree will not bear mangoes.
