For the years that they were together, young actress YA tried to live with talented actor TA's drinking problem. Her friends have witnessed how she tried to cope with his alcoholism and the countless embarrassing situations YA had to go through as a matter of course. One day, YA suggested to TA to have himself undergo rehabilitation for the sake of his health, career and his total well-being. But the idea did not sit well with TA and was turned down immediately. Yet, YA was persistent since she deeply cared for him. But each time she brought it up, she was met with same negative response. Next day's news: both were history.

However, TA probably realized something. Up until early this month, he was still constantly calling YA day in and day out. She wouldn't pick up, yet he was very persistent. People close to them were wondering why he still had to call her when he and another actress were already publicly dating. Besides, YA already made it known to TA that she had given up on him and did not want any more connection. The next day, when he called again, she decided to change her number to finally get rid of him. She was so pissed that she even contemplated on returning all his gifts to her. But her friends advised her against it, rationalising that YA better treat the gifts as collateral damage for all the hurts TA caused her.

Her close kin were wondering 'though, since TA was already publicly dating this new girl, why was he still calling YA? Does it mean that he was not yet over her, as most of their friends and fans believe?

Observers contend that perhaps YA finally came to her senses and has indeed matured as a woman. Experience with TA has definitely taught her a lot - that rejecting him is to love herself.

Zac Efron Arrives in the Philippines

Hollywood A-list movie star Zac Efron (The Lucky One, 17 Again, High School Musical series) arrived in the Philippines today from Los Angeles, CA.

The 24 year old arrived mid-morning and was discreetly transferred from a commercial flight to a private plane headed to Legazpi City, an hour away by flight south of Manila.

Zac reportedly flew in with his father David Efron, manager Jason Barrett, and Hollywood photographer Darren Tieste for a brief holiday at Misibis Bay Resorts as personal guests of Bicolano tycoon Zaldy Co. He is scheduled to appear before a huge crowd of fans on September 29, 2012 at the Mall of Asia Arena for the Penshoppe Fan Conference 2012.

In recent years Zac continues to add impressive movie roles under his belt, with each project getting more challenging each time. Since his early days doing musical flicks, he has crossed over to light romantic comedies (17 Again, New Year’s Day), to more dramatic and mature roles (Charlie St. Cloud and The Lucky One). More recently, he starred alongside heavyweights Matthew McConaughey, John Cusack and Nicole Kidman in the period drama The Paperboy, and was recently at the Toronto International Film Festival for the film At Any Price with Dennis Quaid. The star shows sincere excitement as he visits the country for the first time. “Well, first of all this trip is an amazing, amazing excuse to go to the Philippines. I have always wanted to visit the Philippines. My dad who has been to your country several times has been telling me great stories about it,” he shares.

Intense Actor (IA) came to the story conference of his own movie intoxicated and in a foul mood. IA kept blabbering that the movie is rubbish. Yet, IA also stressed that he should play the lead role, and not merely a supporting one. In between, he kept ordering alcohol from the waiter. Obviously, he was over-drinking again. The production people respected his presence and let him be. IA even went as far as interrupting and contradicting the director, who was presenting the concept of the movie.

The lead actor was present but did not bother to react because he did not want to risk altercation with a very drunk IA, and ruin the story conference. IA kept cursing until the very end of the meeting. He even cursed his own handler. The wardrobe people had to stretch their patience as IA did not want to cooperate when they were taking his measurements.

Apparently, some things never change. IA is peg for real acting. Viewers have gone through a roller coaster ride with him when IA dealt with his heartbreaks, from failed relationships, deaths of someone close to him, and the hiatus of his career. Typical of alcoholic behavior, IA can be very sweet without alcohol but can be a monster with it.

Was this incident isolated? What drove IA to go back to his habit? Why did he renege on his promise a few months ago? IA is one actor who seems to have never learned from his experience. Although forgiving, the industry people have their limits. If IA loses his career totally, then he would have more reasons for drinking and destroy his life. But then, no one can save IA except himself, right?

Letter from a Reader: Very Disappointed Guests

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I want to share my disappointment about a popular comedian and performer (PC).

A few weeks ago, PC was invited to perform in my company's major annual event. We were all very excited and really looking forward to it because we knew we'd surely have a great time.

But the day turned out to be a major disappointment for all of us. The huge talent fee TF paid to PC was not  at all worth it. He stayed for like an hour only, and when he's supposed to have photo op with the selected employees as agreed, he decided not to continue anymore because he said he was already tired. And just like that, he left the venue. But according to some of my colleagues, he did not go straight to the hotel assigned to him to rest. We found out later that he just toured the city.

What we can't understand was why PC didn't deliver what was agreed upon. He's supposed to have a photo op with 6 groups, but only made it with the 3rd group then he went down the stage already. Perhaps he didn't like the crowd which was a bit conservative and not as responsive to his naughty jokes. We may not be as energetic or as "flirty" as the other audience he expected, but he should have been professional and true to his contract.

PC gave an impression to the management, the employees and to all our bosses that we made a mistake of hiring him. Had we known that he will only shortchange us, we wouldn't have gotten him and instead would hire other celebrities. Sometime ago, the company invited a female comedian, and she delivered as promised and did not let us down. Hiring PC was a big mistake.

If he thought that his TF from the company was loose change, then he could have also thought we did not want to throw big money on talents like himself. We may not be as big as other multinational firms, but PC sure did get a lot more than what he delivered. Money spent on him could have been allotted for raffle prizes, but the company and the employees sacrificed that aspect because we thought we could have more fun and enjoyment watching PC perform for us. And just to make sure of his presence  for the event, he was paid two weeks in advance.

Everyone was really sad for what happened and how everything turned out. But we have managed to move on from there and take everything as lessons learned. We hope that PC will never do to others what he did to us. He should bear in mind that all artists can not survive without the fans who patronize them.

By the way, this incident was published in the city's local newspaper.

Peek-A-Boo

Female celebrity (FC) needs to be reminded about being not too comfortable in her engagements. In an interview, FC was too relaxed while she answered questions. Since she was wearing a mini-skirt, and she did not care how she sat down, someone took this snapshot.

This photo serves as a reminder that public actions of celebrities are always fair game and it would do them good to always be mindful how they act and what they say. Of course, the best way to get out of an embarrassing situation like this one is to humor one's way out of it. FC might just do that soon.

This Public Servant is in Love with You, Pare!

Public Servant PS is rumored to be so in love with an athlete AL, a graduating student in one of Manila's better schools. PS generously showers AL with everything to keep him. As a matter of fact, only very recently, the couple flew out of the country to go shopping in a "fine" city. PS and AL had the best time bonding and PS made sure that they got billeted in one of the city's top hotels. AL got to shop till he dropped, if only to make it worth the trip and to make PS happy, too.

You might wonder who PS is. Yes, PS is a 'he' - married to a pretty unassuming woman PW and has kids. As a politician, he has no-nonsense advocacies that he strongly supports. As a private person, he is well-respected in his community and is known to be a good family man. But some rumors are persistent as far as his personal choices are concerned.

His affair with AL is very much kept in secrecy, especially so that elections is forthcoming and rumors like this is definitely unwelcome. But those privy to PS' choices symphatize with PW who they think doesn't deserve it. Some even naughtily quipped that maybe there's some truth to innuendos that PS and PW are hardly into intimacy anymore.

Indeed, how hard is it for any wife to be similarly situated? On the other hand, is it true that there are some wives of gays who would rather prefer it that way over a womanizing husband, believing that they can not be blamed under such a circumstance? Care to share, dear FP readers?

Controversial Hunk Dates Again

After undergoing a scandal that added more color to his career, actor singer (AS) is finding ways of moving on. Ever since AS started his career in showbusiness, he has always been hounded by rumors about his sexuality. Some sectors said that it was unfair to question his preference just because he epitomizes an almost Adonis-like stance. He is neat, looks good in a body-hugging shirt, and he works out enough to have a well-defined body. Others said that all macho actors go through that sort of publicity and scrutiny, and rumors about his choices are stories that could be easily dismissed. His camp never dignified any rumor linking him to anyone of the same sex. However, at certain points in his career, his camp resorted to the law to teach those who dare spread such stories.

So, AS went through the motions of having girlfriends as his image is that of the boy next door. Other than his great looks and admirable physique, AS has never been publicized to be involved in brawls. Instead, he is projected to be the ideal boyfriend, son, father, actor, and talent. While his camp has done its best to maintain his image, AS had certain actions that immediately heightened reactions to rumors. For example, when he won an award, he dedicated it to another actor. That pronouncement made people speculate about his relationship with that actor because the rumors linking them together were just about dying when AS won.

While every intrigue has seemed to die down and AS is slowly reclaiming his stature, another rumor has come up regarding how AS is moving on. Allegedly, AS is seeing a highly talented makeup artist (MA). MA happens to be noted for his work with the country’s top actors and actresses, with AS included in his portfolio. MA belongs to the new breed of makeup artists who have honed their skills abroad, and are not as flamboyant as the more senior makeup artists. MA is young, good looking, and talented. (Come to think of it, the same traits are found with the other men allegedly linked to AS.) Will AS finally find what he is looking for in MA? There is nothing controversial if they are indeed dating, except that MA is more identified with the talents of the rival station, and of course, they’re both men.

Just Making My Moves Gently

For a time, Breakthrough Actress (BA) lived in the shadows by playing second lead roles, and not admitting any relationship she had with Dramatic Heartthrob (DH). However, BA has the looks and her network gave her assignments to keep viewers interested in her. Some sectors have already echoed that they want her to have more challenging roles. BA had a change of image and shifted to doing sexy roles.

When DH finally proclaimed his feelings for BA publicly, she did not react in the expected way. Instead, she seemed to be not interested anymore. Then, BA was seen with more gorgeous actors out in the open. Then, stories started to float about her and her leading man (LM). It seems that BA and LM are getting close to each other.

Is being seen with hunk actors part of the sexy image of BA? What is the point of projecting a sexy image if there are no stunning men within one’s grasp? Will DH ever do what LM did for love before? (Recall how LM got into an altercation with another actor who tried to hit on his “secret” girlfriend. No matter how hard the network tried to quiet down that incident, it paved the way for LM to admit finally his relationship.). However, a similar incident might not happen. Allegedly, BA told DH to stop making statements about his feelings for her.

Now, that they are spending more time in the series, will BA fall into the charms of LM as casually as he placed his hand on her thigh?

Revealing the Meaning of the Cryptic Message

When social networking started to become popular, celebrities resorted to making their own accounts to accommodate their followers on the web. Followers are often quick to react or deduce the meaning of whatever these celebrities post. As a result, some celebrities are rewarded with increased popularity and admiration. In contrast, other celebrities are abhorred because of their shocking notoriety, which is different from the wholesome image that endeared them to their fans. Despite the lack of privacy, some celebrities still maintain their social network accounts public. In short, whatever message they write becomes fair game.

Take the case of the posting of a male celebrity (MC). While MC never spoke about it, rumors about his preference are all over the place. However, celebrities close to him are quite careful in hinting about the dates of MC over their social network accounts. One day, MC was spotted having an intimate dinner with this fashion insider (FI) . Hence, people assumed that MC finally found love, and people were happy for him. Then, a few days ago, MC posted what seemed to be an innocent statement. The followers of MC immediately assumed that he was betrayed by FI and a fashion model (FM). Everyone felt sorry for MC. Ah, but that is not what the sources of FP revealed.

There is no triangle with FM, but there was a betrayal. Apparently, there is something more to the personality of FI, which MC made him promise not to engage in anymore. However, FI is in a market, which is willing to pay his price. Since the price is right and the location is not anywhere near, FI made himself available. FI betrayed his promise to MC and MC got hurt. Thus, MC posted poured his heart out on social media.

Will their ""friendship" die after this incident? Will MC post another seemingly cryptic message? Why is FI involved in such trade given his reputation and family ties?
