A mother grieving the loss of her child, na ipinagkatiwala sa Ateneo para sa training at mas magandang future… isa sa mga buhay na nawala dahil sa negligence 💔💔
12:20 mukha nga the fact na ateneo never reached out agad to the parents, mukhang uunahin mag cover up muna and patahimik ibang mag alam para less damage
Dati pa pala muntikan may nalunod. At kahit pa marunong lumangoy eh iba alon dun. Pang surfing nga Aurora eh. Kaya nga sumikat Baler dahil sa surfing. T lang ng coach. Suffer the consequences of your hubris and stupidity. KAWAWA yung mga namatay at mga magulang. Grabe.
9:10AM wdym nagbibigay malisya? It’s just a keen observation—kung aware ka naman sa development ng news. Pero ayan, lack of clear communication regarding what really happened means may pinagtatakpan.
The mere fact na confiscated yung celfone nila for a week means something. Hindi yung ordinary team building. Ginawang boot camp. Sort of Military exercise.
Agree. Semantics. This was a pre-season training camp. Puro mga bago, freshman pa siguro Rene. Galing Agusan. Asan ang lifeguards, medics, first aid people, standby equipment? Managot dapat ang coaching staff! Lahat sila!
Basketball player anak niya. Bakit ginawang pang swimmer ang training??? This must be further investigated.
1149 of course they knew but expert ba sila? hindi naman sila swimmers dba? so we can considerv hem as hindi marunong as they are battling deadly rogue waves
At pangatlo di muna tiniyak ang nga safety precautions that come with the training.
Jusko, wala man lang liaison officer!
Diba? Grabe my heart breaks for her.
Ateneo should be accountable! Wala nga sila update sa parents, parang walang respeto, pinag hirapan ng magulang yan tapos ganyan ganyan lang ginawa nila, puro pa sila post na they support daw kuno ek ek, pero hindi naman nag reach out sa parents. Kakagigil!!
This is truly heartbreaking!!! Prayers to the family. There are lots of issues here. I wonder why they do this kind of training in an open sea. Hope they will get the justice that they deserved.
Accountability. Dahil may nawalang buhay at di lamg 1. Dalawang buhay pa. Kailangan may managot. Kng ako yung magulang, wala akong pake kahit sino kang respetadong coach or school.
Justice and peace for the victims and their beloved families.
You gonna do risky and dangerous stuff like that, you need to have medics and rescue on call...this is hazing, not team building. This is endangerment, not empowerment. This is reckless and irresponsible. This was a tragedy waiting to happen.
This is part of risk assessment. Medics and life guards should ALWAYS be AVAILABLE for this kind of events. And every endurance test should be with approval of health experts. For a school like ATENEO that relies on their basketball teams for big fundings and sponsorship. The school could provide a safer environment for endurance and stamina training for their athletes. Sabihin man accident, there is negligence on their part.
11:16 agree may pa ateneo school of government pa silang nalalaman! But they are only a second trying hard copycat to UP lol!
Tama!
Coach Ayo of UST was banned indefinitely from all UAAP leagues due to bubble training during pandemic. The worst thing happened there was pinakain daw ng mamantika yung players kaya nagreklamo.
Ilan championship na ba ang Atteneo under that coach? Sana talaga makuha ng mother ang answers kung bakit may pasa ang anak niya dapat Atteneo investigates and gives her the answers
The strong waves may have been a factor during the training, but that doesn’t erase the serious questions that still need answers.
Coach, not every athlete has the same physical condition, endurance, or limits. Just because some players were able to handle it doesn’t mean everyone could. That’s exactly why proper assessment, supervision, and safety measures are so important.
Most importantly, a family lost a son. They deserve transparency, accountability, and direct communication from those responsible for the program.
And where is the leadership now? The family should not have to search for answers on social media. They deserve to hear from the people who were in charge.
I sincerely hope there is no news blackout. When a young life has been lost, the response should be openness, accountability, and respect for the grieving family.
The coach should be put in jail. Gross negligence. Ateneo should pay a hefty amount to the distressed family. Those tuition fees na kinukuha nyo sa mga students, ibigay nyo lahat sa dalawang pamilya, mali rin kayo for getting a stupid, ahole coach.
I hope the family sues the university. Being a parent myself i cannot fathomed what had happened to the students and then the university was NEVER there to help the bereaved family. They were reckless to send kids to Aurora for team building and no lifeguard or medical personnel on scene. It is very painful to see the parents mourn. I hope autopsy shows more of what we only know as viewers/commentators. Condolences to the family.
I hope she does more than grieve and look for accountability. Alam ko accidents happen but higher officials also need to apologize, make amends and do better.
Cober up talaga.

This law imposes criminal liability on individuals whose voluntary, but malicious-free, actions or failures to act fall short of required safety standards, resulting in death.
Ateneo, and the coaching team that made this happen are guilty of article 365. Merong criminal liability. Clear as day. They died because of their collective actions, sila ang may kusa. I hope the family has good lawyers. If not, i gofundme niyo po, maraming Pilipino ang tutulong. Many of us want to see justice done.

stepping stone din kasi yan ateneo blue eagles team para maging pba player or professional basketball player abroad. kaya ganyan kahirap ang training nila.
Nakakalungkot. For the coach and the university, it might be the championship that they are so keen in getting. That and the accolades of being one of the best teams in the league.
But for the dreamers, in this case, the hardworking breadwinner Rene, para ito sa kinabukasan ng pamilya nila. It's more than their stint in the UAAP, it's a chance to make a great generational impact to their lives.
Ateneo always been very good in covering up issues, inuuna pa nila protektahan ang pangalan nila kesa safety ng mga mag aaral. They should be held liable and accountable sa nangyari. After the tragic accident, saka lang nagkaroon ng traffic flow management sa loob ng campus where the children do not mix with the vehicles. Then let’s not start with the numerous bullying incidents na covered up ng school. Karma is catching up with Ateneo at the expense of students’ lives. Naturingan pa namang katolikong unibersidad and “men for others”. What a SHAME, Ateneo. I wonder how the leaders of Ateneo could sleep at night.
