I’m not the biggest fan of ABS, especially considering how they’ve treated some talents and the favoritism that seemed to grow along the way. At one point, the network honestly felt like it got too full of itself. But NONE of that JUSTIFIES what happened to them. Their franchise was revoked by Duterte and his allies for purely political reasons, an abuse of power meant to silence the media, and that was wrong, plain and simple. They deserve to have their franchise restored. Not because they’re perfect, but because press freedom matters and no administration should be allowed to shut down a network just to punish criticism. Bring their franchise back!!!
Totally agree. However it appears that abs is no longer interested in the franchise since the Villars already took their frequency. Pretty sure that if they sell it back, it will be a very very steep price
Shady din ang ABS kaya nakalkal lahat ng baho pati sa mga trabahador may complaints against them that were put under the rug.
ABS CBN refunded the payment and apologized. Press freedom is supposed to protect even the outlets you disagree with.
@1:25 That excuse has been debunked so many times it’s almost funny. The franchise may have been up for renewal during PNoy’s term, but there was zero effort from Congress to weaponize it. Nobody was trying to shut them down. Because under PNoy, the goal wasn’t to bully the media. The only reason ABS lost its franchise was because Duterte publicly threatened them and his allies carried out the political hit. That’s the truth. Trying to blame PNoy is just a lazy way to dodge the fact that Duterte used government power to go after a network he didn’t like. So let’s stop pretending this was some technical oversight. It was a deliberate move to silence the press, and everyone knows it!
1:32 Not true at all.lol Let’s be honest, nobody’s sitting around watching old school TV anymore. Advertisers aren’t dumb, they’ve already moved their money to online platforms because that’s where real viewers actually are. Regular TV is dying, and at the rate it’s going, it’ll be OBSOLETE in a few years. Some people just refuse to accept reality because it doesn’t fit the narrative they’re clinging to.lol

At 115 people always blame duterte but it was pnoys admin that did not renew their franchise
DeleteLol what a lie. Duterte even have video clips saying he will kill the franchise
DeleteThank you for pointing it out. I am getting Duterte fatigue with everything being linked to them.
Delete140 he will not be in the position to do that kung narenew yung franchise nila before expiration.

ReplyDeleteKahit IS kaya pala nanganib din contract nila with GMA.
Kahit millions of views pa yan at trending. Sa TV ads talaga kumikita ang networks.

DeleteThis is a bigger loss for TV5.
ReplyDeleteFor real
Kaya nga lang sila nag survive bec of TV 5

ReplyDeleteBankrupt Ignacia Network as always.
