Type 1 diabetes is genetic or autoimmune. Some people do not produce or stopped producing insulin since they were children. The patch & monitor are important since the insulin & sugar level have to be balanced all the time. Maybe this will encourage diabetic kids to wear the patch & monitor, & not be embarrassed about them.
