    2. 9:22 as if you are that classy. Tell that Imelda to go to high end places in Palawan para walang reklamo. O walang siyang budget. Ang yabang niya. I am sure trying to be sosyal din yan just because she is mestiza. Ano ba ang tatay yan? Kasing yaman ba ni Trump!

    3. 12:28 Im pretty sure nakapunta na yan sa mga posh hotels ng Palawan pero wala nga nag ooffer ng decent baked goods that's why she is reacting. There is some truth to what she is saying. Maybe Palawan should also invite those franchisees to be in their island. I mean why so backwards if you are catering to the international crowd.

      Delete

      Delete
    5. The high end places also suck.

    6. 12:28 u don’t know me. I’m classier and richer than you for sure.

    7. 12:28 oh now bakit napunta sa tatay nya or kesyo mayabang? e totoo nman sinabi kya and thats her opinion. and besides dapat ba mayaman lang para makasabi na kung ano masarap na pagkain? ganun mentality mo?

    8. If I want to eat something, search ko muna sa Grab.

Her sentiment is valid kasi wala naman siya directly pinatamaan. Kung ako ag isang restau at gusto ko mapagusapan at free PR. magaaral ako or kukuha ng bagong baker na magaling, bibigyan ko sya ng cake for free testing. kasi once umokey sa panlasa nya for sure ipopost nya at free advertising yun. Huwag masyado balat sibuyas.

  2. I understand her sentiments. Western bakeshops are oh soo good. Knowing panaderya s provinces, wag na kayong mag expect na good quality yan except pandesal. Dun sila magaling. But other pastries like cupcakes and cakes etc. waley! WLa silang budget for good quality butter and flour.

    1. its time na i up ang game. A lot of tourists visit Palawan, why so backwards.

      Delete
Then what would be the difference kung ganun?

      Delete
    3. 10:20 eh wala nga eh. WALA!

  9. I get her point. Puerto Princesa being a tourist destination has lots of potential. They cater not only to domestic tourists but also international. The local government should be open to suggestions and positive criticisms. Kaya di umasenso ang bansa natin eh. Binubusalan yung gusto mag/voice out ng opinion.

    2. true. Kaya tayo nahuhuli sa Thailand and Indonesia, napaka backward ng thinking. Syempre maraming international tourists ang maeengganyo diyan if available nga naman ang mga pastries, not to mention transportation na maayos, wag palaging backwards. Lagyan nyo kaya dyan ng mga speedboats.

haha wala bang mall jan? Imposibleng walang goldilock or red ribbon jan?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Diko bet si girl dahil ate chona sha dati pa pero infer may point sha. I don’t think she’s entitled or threat sa tourism. If you are well travelled and pastry lover ka talaga, malamang wala kang magugustuhan. Filipinos in general kase, we are used to sa “pwede na”. Or tinitipid yung ingredients para mas malaki ang kita. Overtime din yung quality Hindi nagiging consistent. Mom and pop shop thinking. Yung mga customers din kase di loyal, it’s hard to build a brand there, more on nakikimura (which is understandable) or nakikisoshal ang bet ng regular pinoy. Pag naman nagtayo ka ng business, and pinilahan ka, asahan mo next day may magtatayo na rin sa tabi mo, same ng tinda mo, pero bagsak presho.

  21. If she's criticizing major establishments na nagbebenta ng cake and pastries na pricey pero low quality, it's understandable to call them out. If we are talking about bakery sa probinsya, you can't really expect them to make something on par with French Baker for example. You get what you paid for ika nga. Tatlong piraso for P10.

How she said it parang na try niya lahat ng bakeshops and wala talagang masarap, or baka hindi niya lang nahanap?

  25. Avoid generalizations and provide constructive criticism.

She said she DID NOT "generalize" but from her original post she used the words "lahat & puro" and "wala" which means "all" and "nothing", respectively.

  26. Weird kasi may sikat na baker vlogger from puerto princesa. Then nagdedemo din sya sa mga food fair for brands.

  43. May point sya. It was her wordings lang. She could have written it on a lighter note. She could have asked the people na lang sana any recommendations for a fluffy, moist cakes or pastries in the city. That for sure will start people to converse about it. Baka naman merong mga bakers dyan na sa bahay lang ang shop and for advance orders. For sure meron yan kahit 1 siguro. Kasi sa mga shops, mass production usually and province ganun tlaga.

    ReplyDelete
  49. She is entitled to her sentiments. Maldita't atechona kasi ang pagkakasabi kaya nabash but there's some truth to it. Di maiiwasang mapansin yung quality of breads dahil major tourist destination ang Puerto Princesa and I've noticed naraming foreigners e pihikan sa tinapay. That said, beach naman ang habol ng tao sa Puerto Princesa. If you want "Manila style" food trip e di sa Manila ka na lang, but if you want the island life then adjust your cosmopolitan expectations. Opinyon ko yon which I am also entitled to

Also her excuse na hindi naman generalization yung sinabi niya does not make sense. She didnt say "ayoko yung mga tinapay sa Puerto Princesa", she said "walang magaling na baker sa Puerto Princesa, lahat chaka". Generalisation yon diba, so she should stop denying what she actually said. Own it na lang.

    ReplyDelete
The point is ung pagkakasabi nya. Babes, if your palette is Western, don't expect the same type of goods in rural/non Western countries kung ganon. If you're in a place that has great pastries, sana di kayo tumaba kasi kayo na. Yes, it triggers people sa Pilipinas/probinsya to tapos lalaitin? And no, its not about being third world, ayoko din na oozing with butter ang pastries ko. I actually appreciate it that our pastries are healthier. Bakery kiosks or home bakers (non commercial) obviously have the time and effort to make better goods. Baka gusto nyang itry. :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 6:16 I agree with you except for one thing: just because we use margarine instead of butter does not mean our breads and pastries are healthier, lalo na we tend to like more sugar. But apart from that tama yung point mo

      Delete
    2. I currently live in Canada, and I dont think healthier ang bread natin compared sa western.
Buuuut…. Our tinapay tastes better. Tinapay dito medyo nakukulangan ako sa lasa. Siguro dahil less sweetener to make it more healthy? I dunno.

I’m a baker. In the first place I don’t compromise my ingredients. If the recipe calls for butter with x fat content, yun ang gagamitin ko.

Most of the time no enhancers and preservatives kaya shorter shelf life. Tapos iku-compare ka sa chain bakeshops.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wait, puerto princesa is a tourist spot and there's no good bakeries there? Wtf is wrong our politicians pulling persona-nongrata card? Lmao! We are so onion-skinned. When you travel, you don't just go there for the place. Food is also part of an unforgettable experience. I get that there are poor people but tourists go there to enjoy, they don't go there for a charity mission, smh.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ang 8*** nya sa totoo lang. Hindi ba niya na isip na its not just the accesibility of the ingredients but also the so called "panlasa" of the region. Each province or region has its own specific taste.
