The whole scar showing is just an excuse, she also wants to show RG she can still attract the gazes of desire. It is like thinking - I am hurting right now and I am being abandoned, but whatever I am still fabulous. It is a defense mechanism of sorts, so she won't lose her confidence and give in to depression, anxiety and grief. There is also the possibility that she did the things that made her lose her marriage, this assuages her guilt and anger over that a bit.
