Exactly! I came to America because my mom petitioned me then I became an American citizen. I studied here and have my own stable career. I earn really good. I made my mom proud. And I have a close friend na ka ce -celebrate lang ng 35th wedding anniversary. Canadian naman yung guy. I live in Toronto, Canada. Madami pa akong kilala na happily married sa white guys. White guy/Filipina woman doesn’t mean that the woman was poor, or in need of “saving,” or wanted to get access to another country. In fact, this is not the story of most couples I know who fit this category. I myself am pinay who married a white guy but we work in the same industry and didn’t need each other financially.

Enough for me to live comfortably but now he gave me my own business and he hired someone to manage it for me. Big lifestyle difference so it happens but not because of how some of these people make it seem to be. The ones who look for mail order brides are usually old, not good looking and doesn't even make much money. Basically loser foreigners.
DeleteExactly! I came to America because my mom petitioned me then I became an American citizen. I studied here and have my own stable career. I earn really good. I made my mom proud. Years later I met my white husband who also has a stable career. Not all of us are taking advantage, we just fell in love.

I don’t think I’m better than anyone else but these comments are racist (towards both races) and harmful to all in the long run. Even the use of “naka pag-asawa” is laden with judgement. It is not an achievement to marry outside of one’s race, nor is it an achievement to marry within one’s race. You wouldn’t use that word to describe Pinoys marrying each other; you would say “nag-asawa.”

Siya pa gumagastos halos lahat. Mama’s boy pa. Buti natauhan. Ayun puti na asawa ngayon at ka edad pa nya at wala pa syang gastos.
