Repost: Luis Manzano Seeks NBI Assistance to Investigate Fuel Company, Host Dragged Into Alleged Questionable Investment Scheme

Nakasaad sa statement, “In a letter addressed to NBI Director Atty. Medardo De Lemos dated November 8, 2022, Manzano through his counsel, Atty. Regidor Caringal, clarified that he had 'resolved to divest his interest and resigned as chairman of the board' of several corporations in the ICM group headed by Chief Executive Officer Ildefonso "Bong" Medel, including Flex Fuel Petroleum Corporation.

“According to Caringal, 'various individuals claiming to be investors/co-owners of Flex Fuel have been reaching out to our client for assistance.'

“Caringal said that Manzano was appealing to the NBI 'to conduct an investigation on this matter' as Medel had failed to address the concerns of the said investors.”

Base sa affidavit ni Luis noong December 2022, inilahad niyang ginawa siyang “chairman of the boards” ng CEO ng ICM group na si Medel bilang isa sa paggagarantiya ng kanyang investment.

Gayunman, sabi ng aktor, “I never took part in the management of the business."

Sabi ni Luis sa statement, "Bong conducted the business in such a way that operational matters were kept away from me."

Sabi pa ni Luis sa statement, "Up to now, there are still individuals reaching out to me for help and assistance regarding their investments in Flex Fuel."

Un mga investors eh pumunta dun to complain Luis and others dahil sa naglaho nilang investments

      Delete
    3. 10:14, he’s not the CEO, si Medel ang CEO.

      Delete
    4. 12:06 YES. I stand corrected. Di pala CEO but Chairman of the Board. si Medel ang CEO pero si Luis Manzano ang Chairman of the Board of Directors ng Flex Fuel. Technically mas mataas pa ang Chairman of the Board sa CEO kasi pwedeng ifire ng Chairman ang CEO.

    3. Not exactly. Hindi niya yan masosolusyunan sa simpleng pagreresign.

    4. 6:19, yes sarili nya lang. which is selfish in my opinion kasi he kept quiet about his resignation. Imagine he’s been out of the company for a year na but none of the investors knew about it and a lot more were still investing thinking na andun pa sya and yung iba were probably thinking he owns the company himself. I find it impossible na wala syang alam na ginagamit pa rin ang name nya to lure more investors when he even wasnt vocal about his resignation. Just because friend nya? Just goes to show wala syang balls to go against certain people matapang lang sya mag call out sa mga bashers pala but kung saan his voice should matter, tahimik lang sya. kung di pa nagkasuhan na saka pa sya may statement. 🥴

    5. 12:26 I don’t think it his responsibility to announce his resignation . It was more of Bong’s since he is the new CEO and owner of the company . He is known to be a generous person at kadalasan it comes out of his pocket

    4. 11:50 yup. Ang pagkakamali lang ni Luis e mabagal sya nagreact, nung nagreklamo na sa kanya yung ibang investors sinubukan pa nya ayusin yung problem instead of immediately and publicly disavowing any affiliation with the company.

      Delete
    6. It’s not a scam per se, but di siguro na fulfill or na achieved yung projected income ng negosyo. Masyado sigurong “ambitious” yung kanilang projection. Why i said na hindi scam kasi merong mga naipatayong gas stations naman that even Luis was present mismo during the openings when he was still affiliated with the company. I almost invested dyan but when i inquired and nasa milyon pala ang kailangang ilabas, di na ako tumuloy kasi diko rin kaya mga kalahati lang ang kaya ng pundar ko as ofw. Pero sinubaybayan ko pa rin to and followed their accounts even that of Mr Medel’s and recently nga lang nagbukas pa sila ng new location.
Ang nakikita kong problema siguro is may mga certain locations siguro na mahina ang kita and hirap silang ibigay yung kikitain supposedly every month ng mga investors. Ang problema nila is walang proper communication like what Luis said di responsive si CEO Medel.
Ito talaga ang problema kapag nagi invest ka sa business ng ibang tao or for a start up na business. kaya mas mainam pa rin talaga yung mag invest ka na lang sa sarili mo kasi malugi ka man wala kang ibang sisisihin.

    7. 11:59 you’re correct. masyado kasi madami yung mga ventures nila, perhaps they got carried away. classmate ko sis ni bong and maayos sila na family. may school sila sa south, pero napaka humble nila. never nagpakita ng riches, unlike the noveau ones. i only found out na super yaman pala nila when bong tagged her sa family pic, andun pa si luis and angel locsin nun.

  31. Red flag agad yung he was made a Chairman of the Board to guarantee his investments but operational matters were kept away from him.

He let the company used him to attract investors. I was seriously considering to invest in Flex Fuel before, partly because of Luis. The sales agent I talked to even mentioned about Luis’ fleet of taxis in Metro Manila.

Lucky for me, I personally know some people who got into co-ownership of similar fuel stations so I was able to ask from their own experience. Malaki ang capital (₱500k and up, depending on the location) and the return is not guaranteed. Based on the profit sharing they were receiving at that time, ROI is 20 years or more.

The problem is, if they continued to get investments knowing na losing yung business para may maibigay na profit-sharing sa naunang mga investors, then it becomes a pyramid scheme.

  51. But Luis, you kept quiet about your resignation. Why? 🥴

  52. Papayag ka to chair the BOD pero wala kang paki how the business is handled? So anong klaseng tao or businessman ka.

    1. Exactly!

Imagine kung 100 sila na investors, that amounts to 7million pesos a month!

  54. Kawawa naman si Luis. I believe biktima lang din siya. Pero. Pero. Pero. Sana hindi na umabot sa ganito.

So it's not like a Ponzi scheme naman.

    1. Overpromise daw ang pinangako nilang return on investment. Let's see anong ma uncover ng imbestigasyon, but just because may napatayo silang gas stations doesn't mean hindi din nila ninakaw or winaldas pera ng ibang investors nila

    2. It was just a front para mag attract ng new investors. It is still a scam.

  56. Mali si Luis dito. Kahit non-executive director siya, he is required to be updated with what is going on with the business. Yes, he does not handle the day-to-day business operations of the but he needs to stay on top of things; he needs to know what is going on because that is his responsibility as a director. Mas malaki pa nga ang responsibility niya dahil chairman of the board siya.
The company should call for a stockholders’ meeting and apprise their shareholders/investors of what is happening.

    2. Yes dapat he should have been involved and getting regular reports. Pero baka nga sya nagresign, kasi nahalata nya chairman daw sya kuno pero he was still left in the dark at wala ding sinasabi sa kanya.

  57. Dapat kasi nag notify sya the minute he resigned ayan nagamit pa tuloy name nya. What a mess he is in! Ang hirap nya kasing “patawarin” kasi he was actively recruiting for investors and promoting the business dati, in fact kaya lang naman nag invest mga tao dyan because of him. I know he’s a good man pero somehow may pananagutan pa rin sya dyan. I feel sorry for him nada drag ang good name nya just because he trusted his bestfriend.

    1. The announcement of Luis resigning the company should have came from his friend Bong who took over as CEO and NOT Luis . The friend should have informed the investors that Luis is no longer the CEO . It is his friend’s responsibility .

    2. 12:06 luis was never the CEO. He was the chairman of the BOD. Bong has always been the CEO.

  58. Consummated na ang complained act when he resigned. Mukang me sabit pa din.

  59. That Medel guy bit more than he can chew. Mukhang mahina yung location ng gasoline stations nila and he was wildly ambitious, calling for investors for Lucky Mart, Emerald Shores, and a health facility group. Sana nag focus muna palaguin yung gasoline stations at convenience stores instead of diversifying way too fast para lang may matawag na business empire kuno.

  60. Natulungan pala ni Luis yung main complainant. He has a good heart pero nagkamali siya sa pag trust sa kaibigan niya.

  62. He is very active in answering bashers nakatago palang baho. He’s responsible being chairman and did not declare that he resigned to the public ; tricking people indirectly that he’s still connected with the business, very dangerous situation he’s in. Minsan kasi matutong makontento.

  64. May Lucky Mall pa yan silang balak itayo dati.

  65. Kawawa naman ang mga na Scam!? According to the news, Chairman and co owner ang artist ng Flex then resigned without notifying the other shareholders. Government should give justice to the victims and give jailed time to those involved

  66. Sobra ka naman magtiwala. I find it hard to believe he is as hands off as he says he is. with 66 million? That's just being either too naïve or too stupid.

  67. He ONLY publicizes his innocence when a case was filed in the NBI. But before that, he was dead quiet when his business partner and associates scammed many people, promising them big returns in a company that prides Luis Manzano as a great partner.

  68. If you check their website, wala si Luis sa board of Directors - bong medel ang prez, kristina sales-medel ang director (asawa ni bong?), anthony sales (kapatid ni kristina?) ang coporate treasurer, at isang lawyer ang corporate secretary. Sila lang apat ang nandun at ang lista is according to hierarchy of position.
