      i buy things from ebay.
      SOBRAAA ANG TAX.

samantalang pag ikaw nag padala sa kahet anong bansa abroad, wala silang tax basta declared as gift.

      #trueStory

    2. I feel like it has gotten worse. I don’t bother sending packages home for this reason. Same din for FedEx, I sent commercial samples to my friend so they can take photos of it and customs applied a value much higher for the samples (they were costume jewellery). Yung friend ko was charged 3,000 pesos even though the value of the items were less than that. Nakakalungkot.

May pa change is coming change is coming pa silang nalalaman eh change for the worse naman.

    3. Fedex mas worse s dhl, may warehouse fee n agad sila pagdating dito. Lol. Dapat kasi complete docs yan pato price, and if gift, declare mo as gift… basta masalimuot yan. Have experienced these couriers and ems, Tapos declare yan na abandoned kaso lumagpas n ng 1 month. Haha!

      Delete
    4. Base on experience, it is the service of that courier they used that sucks. Your duties and taxes are computed by them inhouse. Then pag more than 7 days and hindi mo binayaran considered abandoned na ang cargo mo. Compare their service vs big courier X mas efficient ang later and ang duties and taxes tama computation.

      Delete

      Delete
    6. 3:19, ganyan na sila way back. Mas maalam pa sila kaysa sayo. Even if you produce documents to prove the value of your goods (bank transfer forms of the payment you made to the supplier, invoice issued by the supplier) hindi sila maniniwala ang papatungan nila ng value na gusto nila. Tapos known din sila for giving the wrong HS code. You will be left with only 2 options: a) to “negotiate” or else magbabayad ka ng napakalaking duties (na dapat 0) & VAT or b) magbabayad ka ng malaking warehouse charges lalo na pag bulk shipment sa Fedex or DHL.

      Nakakasulasok ang agency na yan.

      Delete
    8. 10:22 It’s sad how rampant it is pala and yet no change all these years. Yung warehouse charges patawa talaga yan since the reason for the warehouse charge is usually their fault - they have a backlog of shipments they haven’t been able to clear and therefore had to sit in customs for weeks on end. Please finance our incompetence so you can get your shipment.

      Delete
    9. 1:53, you’re wrong. Meron ding tax sa other countries. I sent boxes of gifts to my relatives sa Canada at Italy. Both of my recipients, nagbayad ng taxes. Almost half the amount of the declared amount ng gifts ko.

    4. Depends I have tried fedex, dhl, ems, johnny air, balikbayan box. It all boils down kasi s value, lalo na s fedex and dhl. And dapat below 10k php ang value so it’ll not be taxable. Ok j.air, dhl I think is better than fedex.. balikbayan box sobra tagal and nee dmag kakilala ka s country na panggagalingan. Problem lng j.air wala sila in places like Japan

      Delete
    5. I have tried LBC to ship stuff to loved ones sa pinas okay naman. Pero I did experience almost the same thing as Bela when nasa pinas pa ako a long time ago. Tsk tsk

    6. Johnnyair or MYshoppingbox. Mas mahal rate ng Johnny but they consolidate

    11. 8:57 nasa courier. I don’t know how they do it pero wala talaga. Nagtataka din ako pag direct from the shop tapos air freight pag below 10k walang bayad. Then airtamer around $150 yata wala din tax since below 10k.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Goods less than 10k pesos will not be taxed. Sana naglagay ng invoice ang sender kahit as a gift. DHL will ask you for proof of the declared value because that is what the law requires. DHL has a website to track the item. They will also call you. Bakit inabot ng buwan buwan bago gawan ng paraan to claim your package?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
Ang problema is not with the courier but the in-house customs.

      Delete
    2. 10:31 I am also a regular receiver of parcels from DHL and they do not ask me to go to Customs. Nag i email sila and call and ask me to provide the screenshots I made to pay. Hassle if hindi ka sumunod. Never nadelay ang delivery sa akin.

      Delete
    3. I’ve also bought stuff online and direct from the shop ang shipping many times. Same experience pag below 10k walang tax.

      Delete
    4. 12:52 AM. So until now 10k pa din ang limit? Roughly $200? Dpat amend na yung law kasi pag ganyan almost everything taxable na.

      Delete
    5. Yes, that’s what I remember too. Nakakaloka.

  18. This i think is a legit complaint. Unlike the swab test that does not have appointment in the first place.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Based on my DHL experience, they won't pick up the package for delivery if wala declaration of the content and its worth. Pero sagad lang talaga BOC coz they will make life hard for thee courier company and recipient. Nagrerequest ba naman BOC copy ng brochure ng mga items cox they need to check yung value coz gusto nila itax ng malaki. Haler, old items mga pinadala ko, yung camera na nandun is like maayos pa pero bought 10 years ago, di ko na nga alam yung model. Tapos receivers will need to pay hefty rates to BOC, and ipit din DHL sila naputukan ko pero wala din sila magawa sa BOC.

  31. LOL I work in anu ha eto sa US kahit ibang state lang may tax pa yan if bought. Now because madaming gawain na gift pero benta pala kaya nagkakaroon ng problema dito sa Pinas.

Ang nakakatawa dito is dapat nagcoordinate kayo sa courier na gagamitin at na calculate nyo na ang tax tapos door to door na.

andami kaseng seller from US pero di nagkakaproblema kase nga kumpleto bayad ang tax.

and may tinatawag na gift tax, na kahit gift sya the SENDER should pay the tax kay DHL so si DHL ang tanungin mo wag si BOC lol

May gift tax kase. Pero minsan kase like sa US calculated ang tax kapag pinrint out na yung packing slip since si sender naman may obligasyon to pay the taxes.

Door to door siya dapat di ba? Ikaw ang mema ti andami ko kilala seller di naman nagkakaproblema lbc door to door nila from US kase nga paid ang gift tax nila..the courier shouldve assisted them dapat DHL Pinas tumawag nag inquire tapos so dhl dun sa sender nagcoordinate.

sender should have the proper document of the cost of the items and declare that the items were gifts therefore they need to pay the tax if witit nila bet mag pay at shipping fee lang binayad nila ikaw na receiver ang may obligasyon magbayad ng tax ng mga regalo mo.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Based on experience, nagpadala ako package dito norway. And ang shipper , kung hindi alam, dedeclare ang amount (as in my case) So ang charge ng dhl is 25% of total declared as customs fee and service fee of 150nok(php 600). Kaya tataas talaga. Pero if you declare it as a gift(na di dineclare ng friemd ko na gift kasi nakalimutan daw nya) hindi sila magtatax basta di lalampas ng 2500 (500nok) ang value. If lampas.. they tax it with the same computation. So ending ko.. mas mataas pa yung binayaran ko sa dhl for customs tax kaysa nung value pinadala sa akin.

Generally, lahat ng imported goods valued above 10k are subjected to custom duties and taxes kahit regalo pa yan.

Mga nasa 20-25% of the value ng package ang babayaran mo sa customs for the VAT, custom duties and other charges.

    1. Yes my point ka. Baka shipping lang ang binayaran ng sender. So si Bella talaga magbabayad ng duties & taxes.

    3. Depende sa HS code na gamit. For footwear, applying the MFN code, range is 10-15%. If shoes is shipped from an ASEAN member country, 0 customs duties as part of ATIGA.
So ang babayaran niya is 12% VAT, 15% customs duties, warehouse charge & handling fee.

Pag madalas kayo mag-import, aralin niyo ang tarriff code and different trade agreements. May agreements with China & ASEAN na makakatulong sa paglower ng value ng customs duties, as long as both you and the supplier can provide the proper documentation.

  52. May problema pa din customs? Under the current admin, naka-dalawang package na ako from overseas, worth around 5K PHP each at dumerecho naman sa bahay ko.

  59. This is true. I'm working in a pharmaceutical company and we are encountering out of stock issues of our medicines here in the country not because of manufacturing or shipping issues but only because Bureau of Customs is taking a hold of it for months now. Apparently they are doing that because they want us to pay additional in order for it to be released. Imagine, those are medicines already!!! What more for stuff like this?

BOC ang kakapal niyo! Mukha kayo pera.

They get info from the internet. Value of the shoes plus freight cost. And the rate is medyo out of this world sa mahal. Kaya compute muna what is gratis. Mga celebs puro nalang rant eh

  68. At first read it feels like a scam. You know, someone promising to give something for free but you have to pay something to pick it up. Of course the question is are the email address and phone numbers she communicated with valid?

Now anyway if totoo yang kausap niya and it means it is an expensive brand then kailangan nga namang magbayad ng custom base sa value ng product regardless kung nakuha niya ng libre. True nabubulok yung shoes pero they should know the law.

If you are a balikbayan and you are sending home used items, to a certain limit alam ko libre. Kaya kailangan ng resibo. In her case e bago yung item so just follow the law bella. Either you pay for it or leave it there.

  74. Kalma mga besh! I’m with BOC dito. It’s not corruption, it’s the law. Ang kailangan nyo kalampagin mga lawmakers kasi that’s the law. Ang baba kasi ng 10,000 limit for exclusion for gift tax dyan sa Pilipinas . Dito sa US, ang limit as of 2021 is $15,000 per donor per recipient. Ibig sabihin magregalo kahit kanino basta less than $15,000 from your asset, hindi ka maccharge ng gift tax. Nagmahal na bilihin pero ang limit dyan di pa nagbabago to reflect the current price increases. Kaya pag nagpapadala ako sa Pilipinas through any of the couriers laging less than 200. Pag mas mahal I bring it with me. I’m talking about gifts ha, not things you buy online from abroad if you’re in the Philippines, iba ang taxes dun. I’m not saying there’s no corruption in BOC, but in this particular issue, the BOC people are within legal reason. I’m not faulting Bela though kasi recipient lang naman yan, dapat problema yan nung donor pero mukhang hindi rin informed ang donor about Philippines’ laws on gift tax kaya ganyan. The way I see it, maayos lang yan pag nabayaran ang gift tax (dito sa US at least 18% of the gift value) either ni Bela or nung donor otherwise, goodbye shoes. I hope nakatulong yung info ko.

I think yan yung pinopoint out ni Bela sa post nya. 4. 10:55 no not balikbayan boxes. I regularly order online. Pag sale sa states like now sometimes 1/5 lang ang price compared to prices here kaya ako doon bumibili. All the time basta below 10k wala akong binabayaran. It goes straight to my house. Wala akong kiniclaim. But all these may mga sales invoice where everything is itemized with prices. Then my technique naman when I exceed 10k or order from diff websites, send ko lahat sa johnny air. They consolidate everything then I pick it up at their office. No fees paid din aside from fees charged by johnny air. Nothing exorbitant.
