“Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” came out on top with three awards, including best musical or comedy. “1917” won best drama and director.

“Fleabag” and “Succession” each won two awards in the television categories.

Awkwafina, the star of “The Farewell,” became the first Asian-American to win the Golden Globe for best actress.

Kate McKinnon spoke candidly about being gay while presenting the Carol Burnett Award to Ellen DeGeneres. In her acceptance speech, DeGeneres said: “All I ever want to do is make people feel good and laugh.”

An emotional Tom Hanks offered actors advice while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award.

Ricky Gervais, who returned as host for the fifth time, was bleeped not once, but twice, during his monologue.

    1. Baks matagal na. Parasite isn't the first Asian film to win Best Foreign Language, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon po from Taiwan. Sadly, Philippines never got nominated for the top 5. But HK, Japan, China, India, Korea were all nominated as finalists in Best Foreign Language Film.

    2. Was supposed to type this but yeah. Ricky Gervais nailed everyone to the core. The anti-Hollywood monologue is the real winner that night.

    3. Ricky Gervais is one of my favourite comedians. The best part of his monologue tho is at the last part where he literally instructed everyone what to do when thwy receive their awards.

    4. The great red-pilling of the masses through an award show like this. Every word said was true. They're all pedos and perverts. They wouldn't be that famous if they didn't take part and rolled in the mud with the pigs of Hollywood.

  13. Never cared for the winners but I gotta say I love the fact that Ricky Gervais has no filter. He has an excellent sense of humor. That monologue is what everyone in Hollywood needs to hear. He deserve an award for that truth slap. Looking at the faces of the audience, I Don’t think his humor was appreciated much. A few people laughed. Al Pacino, who looked like a werewolf, was ready to launch at him. Robert De Niro looked totally disgusted and many of the ladies looked rather displeased.

    4. "If you win an award tonight, don't use it as a platform to make a political speech. You're in no position to lecture the public about anything, you know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg." - Ricky Gervais 2020

  14. Laura Dern is super deserving! After her “judeo-christian” monologue, i just said “wow”. Actually, superb acting by all 3 main lawyers. That’s the kind of acting pinoy actors should learn..hindi na yung hysterics or lisik mata.

  19. Parasite deserved it! Super ganda talaga!

  20. I feel like this locked in Joaquin's Oscar win and I fully support that because he was phenomenal as Joker. But if somehow Adam snatches that from under his nose I will literally cry out of sheer happiness. I love Marriage Story so much. I can't think or talk about it without getting teary-eyed. Noah Baumbach jumped into my top three writers with that beautiful screenplay.

  21. No need to wonder why pinas movies and tv shows are dead. Lol. Can’t compete.
