She has the right to kumuda no. There's a lot of Filipino theater goers na walang manners, walang etiquette. Using cellphones inside theater distract the live play so.... she have a point.
I agree with Lea. I watched the Phantom of the Opera last month, the lady sitting infront of me kept on glancing at her phone even if there was a reminder to turn or put on silent the mobile phones. Some people, no matter how privilege they are, should observe proper etiquette in theatres. People didn't pay to watch your glaring phones so better behave properly.
Grabe naman maka ZERO! for sure during one of your child's school performance naglabas kadin ng phone or camera to take shots and/or video.
That is still a performance ha. Baka sabihin mo not as artistic as those performed in theaters. Well if that's the case, then you as a performer yung maxadong feeling entitled dito
12:41 you havent watched a proper play? Ibahin mo yung play na pambata. Kahit sa Resort’s World, yung Annie inaallow nila magtakbuhan sa loob yun mga bata kasi nga it was meant to be watched by kids. Pag serious play na ang pinag-uusapan, youre talking about expensive tickets. Kaya as much as possible, they want to give everyone the proper experience. Worse, those are real people on stage, distracting for them ang phone light from the audience.
Madali sila madistract. At art din yung ginagawa nila, you should show respect ny giving them your full attention.
Sorry but at the beginning of each musical, they remind everyone that taking photos and videos are NOT permitted. I dont think they do the same thing on school plays. So yes, your comparison is illogical.
Other theater people had actually stopped the show when somebody distracted them. If you find Lea annoying for writing about these mannerless viewers, what more will you call the actors/actresses who actually called out the disruptive audience members?
The first (& only) time I saw Lea in a play was in Ms. Saigon in early 2000’s. Naka-6310 palang ata ako nuon. But inspections were so strict that i left my phone dun sa naghatid sa min.
Chura neto!
hhahaha if they really love and respect Ms. Lea, they should know that she’s very strict about theatre etiquette. matagal na siyang nagttweet tungkol sa mga ganyan pero ang dami pa rin pasaway. there are time and place para makapagpicture with actors/artists but while they’re performing is not one of them.
Luh cya? Sinabi ba ni lea na about yun habang nagpperform cya? malay mo audience din cya at that time at may napansin na nagccellphone.
Sabi nga nya, “hunch over your phone”. Meaning, nakayuko nagbabasa or nagti-text ba sa phone.
Haaaay, you can't empathize with Lea because most likely you've never watched a play or been in a theater. Bawal mobile phones when the show is on going. Bawal mag take ng pictures or videos. Turned off or naka mute ang phones. Basic etiquette yan. Now you know.
I agree with her, that whenever you go to the theater, you should observe proper etiquette.
Just so you know, etiquette is not taught in school but learned at home. Have some decency.
You take video to show off to others that you are watching a play..its not because you love the actors..you just love to show off what is in your phone..
2:04 hindi lahat kelangan ivideo. Lalo na pagdating sa theater. Hindi po yan kaartehan. Ang play po e meant to be watched live. Hindi from the phone.
I remembered my dramatics prof explaining that the theater is the temple of the arts and watching plays is the highest form of being civilized. Char!!! His point was, don't act like a pig in the theater. hahaha You should be on your best and most civilized behavior when your inside. And yes 2:04, that includes not using your phone.
After watching the phantom play two weeks ago, naiintindihan ko na sentiments ni Leah. Distracting nga talaga pag may naaaninag kang celphone na nakaopen nearby while watching
Wag kasi puro sarili iniisip. Or inuuna pa sariling kapakanan na magpost sa social media or makapagvideo.
12:17 MOLEHILL, dear. Lea is NOT mayabang nor maarte. Basic etiquette yun sa loob ng theater or cinema. Not her fault if nakatira ka lang sa city pero walang urbanidad.
By doing those things, sinasayang lang nila not only yung binayad nila kundi pati na din sa ibang audience na pumunta dun. Please, learn to respect the actors and actresses who put so much effort to the play/musical.
girl,u are one of them who uses phone while watching a play.u should concnetrate watching don’t sing w/ them either coz theater actors took months or years to memorize the music then people would sing w/ them,it’s not a concert.
1:55 parang ganun na nga hahahaha. Lea has a point which is true when you are in the theater and yet you found it offensive. People who truly have class will understand. Sadly you didn't. Whahahaha
FP readers, I hope you learn something from this. If you’re going to watch a musical, stage play, or even a movie, please respect the people around you and stop using your phone in the dark, because it really is distracting and is a bother to the actors on stage and the audience who paid to watch the performance.
feel kita tita lea.
ReplyDeleteNever experience watching theater?
