HBO has officially stepped away from Manny Pacquiao. The Filipino superstar recently announced his return to the ring, and will take on Jessie Vargas on November 5th. This announcement didn't exactly light the world on fire, especially against such an unheralded opponent (though he is the WBO welterweight champ). But in an unexpected move, the PPV won't be distributed by HBO. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum confirmed that to Ring TV: "Definitely it’s not going to be HBO. HBO had a contract and decided to pass because it was two weeks in front of their Ward-Kovalev fight." While that is true, there's more to it. HBO has relinquished the rest of their contractual right to Pac's fights with this move.
ReplyDeleteTumpak!
DeletePROMO ITO!
Deleteoo. he should have left while on top.
DeleteChildren, this what greed does to a person. HUWAG NINYO TULARAN.
DeleteWell, considering the huge decline in ratings from his last fight, it's no surprise HBO will drop him on this one...
ReplyDeleteIt's not the ratings. US media doesn't like homophobes. HBO is Pro-Gay and Good for them.
All for the love of fame and fortune.
ReplyDeleteTrue 12:18
DeleteSo true. Masyado na syang gahaman sa pera at kapangyarihan nya. Tapos ginagamit pa nya si God. Tsk tsk...
DeletePacquiao is sill reaping what he said about gay people I think. It didnt sit well with the international press
ReplyDeleteTsk tsk tsk...The truth of the matter is no one cares about him anymore in the boxing world. After the Mayweather fight deadma na ang mga tao. Mga pinoy lang may paki nung last fight nya. He should have retired when he was on top. Now that is going out with a bang (*mike drop). But no, because he is greedy both for fame and money, sinayang nya lang ang legacy nya. Now he will retire as laos and talunan.
ReplyDeleteIt's a smart move by HBO.
Daming bobotante kasi naniniwala sa kanya dahil me pera sya
Deletetumfact!
DeleteWhy cant he just retire?
DeleteWala ng shine like a diamond si pak**
ReplyDeleteInsert Jinkee's photo with branded clothes and Hermes bag then Bible verse caption.
ReplyDeleteTruDAT
Deletepera pera labanan sabi nya yan lang daw bumubuhay sa kanila kulang pa pala bilyon nya hello.
ReplyDeleteCarmi Martin hahahahahaha gahaman kasi
DeleteThis is karma for him and his greedy family. Nobody cares about boxing anymore. Specially when everyone knows it's so fixed. It's all about MMA and UFC now. He should've stayed retired and worked on being a Senator just like he promised. I hope no one watches and I actually hope he loses. Maybe then he'll get off his high horse and be a bit humble.
ReplyDeletePacquiao ahould have retired after the Mayweather fight and then probably wait for a special fight comeback, with Mayweather perhaps. Masyadong greedy tingin ko kay Pacquaio ngayon, takot na makalkmutan ng mga tao na boxer sya (for political motives) and nanghihinayang sa kikitain. Ill-advised din, masyadong nagpabola kay Arum. Arum of course would say all the right words sa kanya kasi kay Pacquiao lang sya kumikita ng malaki.
ReplyDeleteHBO's decision is just right. Baka nga pati MGM nagdadalawang-isip na to accommodate him. Pacquaio could have retired when he was at his peak, that way graceful exit sya. Ngayon, magreretire sya na laughing stock, with a somewhat negative image, and a has-been sports hero
ayan... KARMA
ReplyDeleteinstead of going out with a BANG
going out with a pfffffft
waw. dati proud to be pinoy. ngayon nga karma daw. kaloka talaga ibang pinoy.
ReplyDeleteTotoo nmn eh greed na tawag dyan
DeleteDati kasi low-profile sya who doesn't shoot for the moon. He has somewhat changed. Pero I am still proud of the sports icon he once was. Ngayon, all for show and money na lang. He has downgraded himself to a an entertainment icon.
DeleteTotoo yon. Dati kasi so proud na ipagmalaki sya dahil mapagkumbaba.
Take note sinusweldohan pa sya (galing sa tax mo).
Nasira sya after Mayweather.
Delete9:09, magkaiba. Yung unang comment sabi nya sa Mayweather fight. Yung sumunod, after the Maywrather fight.
DeleteYehey buti nga sa yo pacquiao..i still cringe to see you in the senate...grrr..
ReplyDeleteManny with all his flaws is still superior than the crooks in uniform in both houses. We know he earns his keep fair and square, something that can't be said sa mga ultra rich sa government.
DeleteMatalo sana to sa next fight nya, gahaman masyado!
He brought the Filipinos pride and glory. Dont 4get that!!
ReplyDeleteHis decline started when he likened gay people to animals. There is no other reason. The entertainment industry which he is a part of has very influential GLBT backers and are intolerant of those who put them down
Hahaha
ReplyDeleteManny, wala ka talagang word of honor.
You're such a selfish person to push thru with this fight. Bakit? Dahil sa pera na naman?
I used to admire you pero when you mix boxing with politics, gamitin mo naman ang utak mo oi! Try to prove us wrong. Pero hindi eh. You're just proving to us na tama ang nakita namin sa yo. Selfish, money-lover, insincere person who doesn't practice what he preached.
He wants to be vice president or president kaya nagpapasikat sa senado,. before he want to be an actor, singer, tv host, basketball player,
Deletetandaan ninyo, mga dears, may balak maging presidente si manny...he already said it before.
