Aw. I like them too. Sana maayos nila. All relationships go through this specially when a couple has been together for so long. Sometimes you need time apart to become better individuals, thus becoming better for your partner. Sometimes you also need to have your own space and time. Hindi naman porket naghiway na sila or whatever, it means wala ng love.
Or maybe D or V is expecting something that the other cannot provide or cannot attain... Sometimes issue din yan. In this case, the person who is expecting should look beyond what's missing and accept him for who he is or what he has if she really loves him and wants him in her life.
