Tell Me...... How much is your "UTANG" ?

A fabric supplier won a law suit against a veteran designer, who had unpaid bills amounting to 700t Php.  A warrant of arrest has been issued but the designer has never been arrested.  According to my source he always manages to bribe the arresting officers.

Apart from the fabric supplier, he also owes a high end salon in Jupiter an unknown sum of money.  Everyday, he would pass by the said salon to have his hair blow dried.  Eventually he became a regular, so he requested for a credit line.  They have agreed that he would be billed on a monthly basis instead.  From then on, he would go in the salon, have his hair done, and leave.  Almost a year passed by before the salon's management realized that he has not been paying for his monthly bills.  The bargaining process dragged on and on but still, no payment was collected.  Finally, the salon decided to ban him.  I guess this is the reason why he no longer wears his hair down (he he he).

Clue:  This veteran designer is renting a house in one of the posh villages in Makati.  He is also known to transfer from one house to the other.  Why? Maybe because of unpaid rent?

Tell Me..... Where did he go wrong?

  4. oh yes this designer can talk his way out. He has a bunch of utang from tela stores, clients and he loves to keep on asking for downpayments even if the clothes has not been fitted. During fitting, he will use a generic cheese cloth with someone else's name tagged on it and pretend to do the fitting on you. then he will say that the clothes come in matching shoes and bag. OMG even the shoe/bag supplier he owes! but i think he paid her after she sent a bunch of goony goony men to ask him to pay. Ho do i know all these? first hand experince.... he overcharged but i was able to get the very simple gown, shoes and bag which i never got to wear!

  6. Such a waste of talent! His works before when he started are impressive!Impeccable both in design and craftsmanship! But as the years pass he deteriorates. Lately his works are just accidentally draped fabrics that can be assembled without a sewer! No seams! No finishing!Poor clients! And mind you his rates will drain your savings! It's very obvious that he doesn't have a team of sewers or maybe he doesn't have a shop at all.His previous workshops were either sheriff-ed or padlocked! he should retire and work instead as a display artist for carolinas lace shoppe! It's his favorite fabric store anyway.

  7. He is very good in one thing: Social climbing! very pretentious! Feeling rich like his socialite friends when in fact he's UTANG will bury him 100 feet below the ground! Miserable!

  8. a good designer is not measured by the prestige of socializing and rubbing elbows with the high society. Having a name in the industry doesn't mean you can overcharge and simply get away with your clients money. You have to JUSTIFY your creation and should be worth your price tag! You have to be consistent and should make your clients more than satisfied! It's a pity most of these socialites really got very poor tastes. Couture is not etchos! It involves hours of work and labor. There is no room for SHORT CUTS! That's CHEATING!

  10. He once ordered silk flowers from this old ladies of L' Arte. He issued a cheque worth 10k that bounced! The poor ladies tried to contact him but he never answered. He also ordered furniture from Laguna, have them delivered but he never paid them. Soon after his shop was padlocked! Karma? Hmmmn!

  14. Hope he considers rehabilitating himself then bounce back! He was really good before. But lately he did a terrible wrapped chiffon fabric for my aunt to be worn in a wedding. She looks like she's a walking mummy! Good thing she has a backup coz no way will i allow her to comeout like that! He said that thats the trend now! We just let him walk away and change asap! never again!

  15. Hope he will be arrested very soon! This guy is a menace to the fashion industry! He owe's so much to several fashion suppliers to the point that he can't afford to payback any of them. Prison is waiting!

  16. Once he hosted a party in one of his former atelier. The caterer was on a standby mode outside the gate waiting for full payment while all the guests are already inside the house. Her friend, a former beauty queen sensed that he doesn't have money to pay the caterer and was obliged to settle to save him from all the embarrassment.

  19. A warrant of arrest has been issued but the designer has never been captured.
Suggestion: the better word that could have been used in this sentence would be arrested rather than captures.
From then on, he would come in the salon, have his hair done, and leave.
Suugestion: the better word to use is that: he would go in the salon instead of come in.
    Just to improve your grammar
