Another Disappointment

Everything was just supposed to be for show, as fans have been clamoring for the team up of the two better talents on the network. The management heeded the fans and paved the way for teaming up Insistent Celebrity (IC) and Secretive Talent (ST). IC thought being with ST would add color to her dull life and a bit of spice to her career. Soon, IC and ST became regular fixtures in social media and their fans loved their posts.

Unfortunately, the two were not on the same wavelength behind the cameras. They succeeded professionally, but reality caught them. Although IC heard about the rumor that ST might soon be having a commitment with Non-showbiz Girl 1 (NG1), she dismissed the situation as something workable. She believed that ST was not really in love with NG1, but something happened and he has to be responsible.

Soon, IC took charge of activities that she thought would bring her closer to ST beyond the professional level. They took trips abroad and posted photos that delighted their followers. Their partnership was further tested when they started doing a project together. However, IC was not prepared for the truth, that is, the existence of Non-showbiz Girl 2 (NG2) in the life of ST.

While IC was planning her social media relationship with ST, he was warning NG2 not to believe anything that will appear online. His smile, sweet words, chummy gestures, and stares were all for show to promote their project. When ST sensed that IC had fallen beyond the professional relationship, he admitted to her that he had NG2. IC was crushed and could not believe that her heart failed her again.

Emotionally affected, IC went back to consoling herself allegedly with a drink or so and the crying bouts started to come again. She started pouring her heart out on social media, but bashers overwhelmed her. Subsequently, her state started to affect her work. Her heart has not fully healed from a previous heartbreak and now came another. As to their project, the ratings have not really pulled up even with the entry of ST and thus, might have to wrap up sooner than expected.

Bumped Off

In the digital age, magazines are transitioning from hard copies to the online platform. Thus, readership and sales can be affected, as many readers are still not used to reading via electronic devices. However, the surviving magazines still in print have bragging rights and the prestige for continuing tradition amidst technological changes.

One Publication (OP) prides itself as an elite magazine, as only highly chosen ones are featured on the cover. To be on the cover of OP carries pride and an image that one is cut above the rest. Even the most famous celebrities do not land on the cover of OP by mere popularity. The cover personality must evoke the image of OP.

When Socialite Celebrity (SC) was contacted by OP to be on its cover, SC was excited. OP was the magazine to be on. SC started shopping for jewelry, accessories, and clothes that she can wear on the cover. After all, SC should only be seen in high-end fashion, and SC does have good fashion sense, by the way. Then, as the photoshoot date was nearing, OP cancelled on SC saying that an editorial decision was made and major changes had to happen. SC could not do anything nor could she even think that her money could buy her a slot on the cover. The chance to be relevant and be in the social circle slipped through the fingers of SC.

Allegedly, an Influential Personality (IP) has been getting annoyed at the antics of SC. When IP found out about the photoshoot, it took one call to make OP change its mind. Rumors have it that IP hinted at possibly telling advertisers not to place materials with OP if it continues with the plan. Not only will that be good for the said issue, but for succeeding ones as well. Ads are the lifeblood of publications and without placements, a magazine is as good as dead. Thus, the photoshoot was cancelled, as OP would not want to risk its future and besides, it also does not want to be part of the mess SC seems to be getting herself into.
