Just Not Ready

The backing out of DM was partly due to the reactions that many netizens seemed to have forgotten he was strongly linked to Talented Actress (TA). Allegedly, TA can be very jealous. Upon finding out that the project was going overseas, TA did not like the idea of not seeing DM. Not wanting to hurt the feelings of TA and their fans, DM allegedly chose to back out of the huge project. Meanwhile, the production team is irritated with the decision of DM, as they have to honor the huge fee of the other lead partner, and thus, the team cannot afford to incur a loss once the project gets rolling and starts airing.
Several months ago, blind items alluded to the shaky relationship of DM and TA and that a breakup was inevitable for various reasons. The two basically have opposite personalities allegedly. For example, DM likes to hangout at bars and have a round of drinks. By contrast, TA would rather stay at home and enjoys a quiet night. DM would get bored at home and TA would give in and the two of them would be seen having a good time.
Sadly, rumors have it that DM had wanted to separate from TA. Instead of having his career soar, it did not. Most of their projects underperformed and thus, professionally, their being together is already saturating and preventing their career growth. Of course, any breakup would have to be done with the least pain and if possible, salvage respect and friendship. As DM has opened the idea, TA would react in ways that would call attention, such as photos and captions that are interpreted by followers as hinting on the inevitable breakup. Although the couple have yet to issue an official statement, rumors are strong that they have indeed parted ways even if they are still seen together often. DM apparently got his wish.

Talents who have started earlier than the rest and have established loyalty and dedication to the craft are rewarded in various ways. Other than being well-compensated, as managements could offer so much to ensure the long-standing talent will remain with them, such talents request for items that are non-monetary.
The length of career implies the talent has acquired wisdom from the various projects he/she has done. With knowledge coming from experience, as rare are celebrities who have completed degrees in their field, such talents feel they have the right to dabble in several aspects of the production and not just play a character in front of the camera. Thus, the management could agree to such terms and by becoming influential in a project, such long-term celebrity exercises a certain level of influence.
Rumors have it that a Loyal Celebrity (LC) has used his influence to prevent certain talents, who share the same genre as him, from having their own projects in the network. According to the grapevine, many were disappointed upon hearing the alleged stretching of power of LC. The alleged rumor implied that LC does not want any potential talent to eat into their small niche of entertainment. Sadly, the ones deprived of possible shows opted to remain silent, as they know they cannot go into battle with LC, despite losing breaks.
With his contribution to the development of his management, his hold on the management could be as strong as epoxy. It can be said that LC is part of the elite club of talents who are not as good as their last project. Even if LC’s projects might not be performing as expected, he always has other venues waiting to be explored.

Curiosity Keeper No More

When Interesting Personality (IP) was first seen in public, she registered high curiosity, as she had the looks and seeming charm that could endear her to people. However, she was still too young then and her family waited until she was old enough to venture into the entertainment industry. She, on her part, made the decision to try her luck, after finishing part of her education. Although she did not need the money that would come with her career, she must have felt that being part of a clan meant the responsibility of giving back to the public.
IP was successful in her career as an endorser and her ads were coming one after the other. Truly, IP was gifted with looks and she was always in demand for hosting gigs given her strong advantage in speaking in any language. As far as movies were concerned, she chose roles carefully, as she realized she would always be compared with her relatives who have made a living via acting.
Over the years, nonetheless, a hit project eluded her and acting was slowly shutting its doors. Despite that limitation, IP was still a top endorser and admired by many. Her activities outside showbiz showed another side that was often praised for touching hearts and bashed once in a while on the claim that she was merely doing her appearances for publicity.
IP moved in her direction and dictated where she wanted to go while remaining visible in the local scene. Thus, IP was still among the most trusted when it comes to vouching for products and services. One time, IP was seen in a high-end mall for her launch as an endorser of a product. The expectation was that people would gather around to see IP and the organizers prepared for a huge crowd. Sadly, disappointment filled the air.
When the press coverage of the event came out, those who were actually at the launch were surprised to see photos that made the event appear to be overwhelmingly attended. Camera angles worked and only the concentration of the attendees was photographed. No overwhelming number of people came and mallgoers walked by without stopping to see what was happening. The few curious were asked to form a single-file line. IP’s presence did not make a difference at all. She no longer attracted people like she used to.
