Underestimated Bond

As soon as the Next Candidate (NC) for the auditions was called in, the panel was shocked to see who was standing in front of them trying her luck. NC, a homegrown talent of the rival network came and bravely faced them, the ‘enemy.’ NC’s appearance made the panel uneasy, as intrigue might be raised with the presence of NC.
As NC was already there anyway, the panel gave her a chance to show her piece. She gave the audition her all and the question and answer part followed. An early question asked was if her present management knew she was going to them. NC replied with a negative. NC was then informed that the panel will do a call-back of auditionees who made it to the short-list. NC was indeed hopeful.
What NC did not think of is that even if rivalry exists, networks have silent agreements when it comes to talents. For example, Network 1 (N1) and Network 2 (N2) have negotiations involving their talents. N1 could ‘borrow’ certain talents and N2 would agree, as the opportunity could boost the career of such talents. In the case of NC, her crossing of the line without permission could jeopardize the relationship of N1 and N2.
Out of courtesy, a senior official of NT1 called up NT2 to inform them of NC’s field trip. N2 appreciated the call and subsequently, NC was called to explain her side. NC allegedly said that she wanted to try her luck and that she had no intention to malign her home station. N2 management then told NC that she could not make decisions on her own, as she is under their management and she has a contract. Besides, if she gets the role, she cannot just be dropped out of her on-going projects.
Moreover, her network already has a limited number of talents and loveteams and if NC makes the move, her action would affect the talent development of the network. Before NC could even bother to think of jumping ship, her management would not let her go easily. She’s too valuable to let go. However, the question remains if she would be given a next project, as she did defy the station.
Incidentally, according to the grapevine, NC failed to impress the panel. Her acting was below par and unfitting for the role.

Veteran actor Eddie Garcia suffered a neck fracture when he tripped and fell while shooting a TV series for GMA Network, a doctor attending to him said Sunday.
Dr. Enrique Lagman, Garcia's family doctor, said the actor did not suffer a heart attack as earlier reported.
"The doctors ruled out heart attack and stroke as proven by several validating tests done in Mary Johnston hospital. He is in critical condition due to severe cervical fracture," he said in a statement released by Garcia's family.
At present, Garcia, who is 90 years old, is in a deep sleep.
GMA earlier on Sunday said it was reviewing a viral video of veteran actor Eddie Garcia supposedly collapsing while shooting an upcoming television series for the media network.
Garcia was immediately taken to the Mary Johnston Hospital in Tondo, Manila after the incident.
The family of the veteran actor said they are still dealing with the situation and asked for privacy and prayers.
Garcia is widely regarded as one of the most versatile actors in the Philippine entertainment industry, portraying both lead characters and villains in action, comedy, drama, and even fantasy films and television series in a career spanning more than half a century.
His last project with ABS-CBN was a role in the Coco Martin-led primetime teleserye "Ang Probinsyano," portraying a drug lord. He bid farewell to the part last February.

Control the Talking

During a celebrity gathering, Surprise Guest (SG) shocked everyone with his honoring of the invitation. Usually, SG shies away from any event that would intrude on his privacy. His presence elicits disbelief in the audience of any event he attends. The other guests could not believe SG was right in front of them. Others liked seeing him, others did not and questioned his being invited.
When SG entered the venue, Network Interviewer (NI) recognized him and approached him bravely. NI said she was a fan and asked if she could have a selfie with him. However, SG said the he was her fan and he would watch her in her shows. Then, he declined the request. for a few minutes. The moment was awkward for NI, as she was rejected.
As in any party, SG had to meet with famous personalities and was introduced with all the pleasantries. When SG was introduced to Popular Celebrity (PC), the latter moved close to his ear and whispered a warning. Allegedly, PC said that SG should be forewarned that he is part of the dreaded list and should be wary that certain officials might be hot on his trail. In response, SG requested to be removed from the said list, as he his fixing his life.
Unknowing to SG and PC, Loquacious Personality (LP) overheard their conversation. As soon as LP reached her assigned table, she told what she heard to her Seatmate (SM). SM remained cool, as she saw SG moving toward their table. SG went directly to SM and exchanged pleasantries as fellow co-workers. The small talk allegedly ranged from their past projects to SM praising how SG looks. When other people at their table heard the last comment of SM, they looked at each other and felt the hypocrisy in the air.

GMA Network on Sunday said it is reviewing the video circulating on social media showing actor Eddie Garcia collapsing, and that it will wait for the family or their doctor to issue a medical bulletin.
Below is the full statement of the network:
“The video of Mr Eddie Garcia faltering in his steps & eventually collapsing has reached GMA. We are seriously reviewing the said video as well as other videos of the same scene which our cameras also took, before we make any conclusions on what really transpired.
The statement that was released earlier was given to GMA News by Nick, Mr. Eddie Garcia’s stepson.
We will wait for the family or their doctor to issue a formal update on his condition.
Meanwhile, we continue to pray for his quick recovery.”
